Day 9: Evening
Who: Jenny Schecter & Shannon Rutherford & OTA museum dwellers (quick tag posting only please)
What: Experimentation Slumber Party
When: Just after dark
Where: Museum
Rating: R (language, drugs, and other naughty things probably)
Status: Dropped

Jenny smiled widely as she sauntered up the steps to the museum front door in the pale twilight. She had, in her hand, a paper bag from the gas station. In it she'd managed to collect a few items for a fun time. Some of them she might not have normally brought or consumed, like the brick of pot and rolling papers that Sid had thankfully allowed her to have and taught her to use. Some of them were only for certain fun times like slumber parties with pot, like the munchies which were probably stale but would be delicious when they were both fiending for food.

This was going to be a seriously fun night. She hoped that she wouldn't fuck it up the way she had fucked up just about everything else she'd tried to do since she was tossed into the fray. As long as she kept her mind off her past and anything unhappy or scary, she should do fine. She could handle that, right? Besides this was Shannon. Shannon was cool and they shared enough in common that Shannon would probably understand if she slipped a little. She hoped.

With a deep breath, Jenny brushed her hand down the length of her slightly dirty tea dress, brushed the hair from her eyes and knocked on the door to the museum. She bounced a little on her heels with anticipation. She couldn't wait to get started.

Shannon's hair was finally starting to dry as the sun went down and she flipped idly through her journal, reading old things just to pass the time. She'd cleared out one of the more decrepit rooms because she didn't want to barge in on either Domeki or Watanuki if they were still there, even when knocking didn't yield an answer. She wouldn't have appreciated anyone digging through her things or helping themselves to her room, so she didn't want to go into theirs and tempt herself to do just that. Boredom sometimes did not-so-wonderful things to people. She'd taken the blanket from the room she shared with Sam and then thought better of it, since she was leaving him alone again. The least she could do if she didn't have the guts to tell him why she'd really abandoned him was leave him a blanket in case it got cold. If it got cold in their room, maybe the Doctor would lend she and Jenny one of his. Or...whatever, they could just do what she and Sam did. No big deal.

But when the sun went down and Jenny still hadn't come, Shannon's heart sank a little. She thought maybe Jenny had decided it was too much trouble after all and had changed her mind again. She thought maybe Jenny had concluded that she didn't want to come after all.

So, when there was a knock at the front door, Shannon looked up, surprised. Then, sighed and got to her feet. Just because there was a knock, didn't mean it was Jenny. She'd barricaded the door, since she hadn't seen anyone around and it really wasn't Ianto's job, anyway, to be her protector. She didn't want that from him and she wouldn't put herself in a position to force it onto him. Ianto was a friend...perhaps with benefits, but still, a friend and Shannon had learned the hard way with Dean what happened when she relied too heavily on a friend to keep her safe.

"Coming," Shannon called out and made her way into the main lobby, pushing all of her weight against the large, heavy display she'd propped up in front of the door. It took some effort, but she didn't grow as frustrated as she had when she'd blockaded herself in the previous day and had trouble pushing the display out of the way to let Dean in. Yeah, it was still annoying, but...it'd move eventually. After a few minutes, she'd managed to push it far enough away from the door that it wouldn't open all the way completely, probably, but it would open. At least if she wasn't alone, she wouldn't have to put it back in place, whether it was Jenny or someone else who lived there.

Still, before she opened the door, Shannon took up the two-by-four and stepped back, lifting the wood the same way she had when Sam had come in the first night; the same way she'd been doing every time she opened the door when she was alone or thought she was. If it was a female voice, she'd put the wood down. If it was a male one she didn't recognize, she'd hold it steady and repeat the process she had with Sam on the second night. "Who is it?"

When the knock didn't immediately produce any sort of movement on the other side of the door, Jenny felt her smile falter. She waited, antsy in the darkness of the front steps. She wasn't going to let herself think that this wasn't going to happen. She twisted around a bit, the bag swinging around her knees as she looked around at the world behind her. She couldn't see a whole lot but what she did see filled her with a sense of being small and helpless.

Tentatively, Jenny knocked on the door again and instantly she could hear all sorts of noise behind the door. She squeaked softly and jumped back, startled by the suddenness of it. Shannon must have barricaded herself in the way she had barricaded herself in the back room of the library last night so she could sleep. She couldn't blame the other girl. This place was enough to make the most sane person crazy.

Then a female voice asked who she was and Jenny smiled again. "It's me. It's Jenny!" she called back and bounced again with anticipation causing a waft of the brick of pot in her bag to filter up toward her nose. It made her sneeze and she giggled. "I brought the party. Can I come in?"

Tossing the two-by-four to the side at the sound of a female voice announcing that Jenny was the person on the other side of the door, Shannon smiled. "Bless you," she called back through the wood before pulling the door open and taking a step back, sweeping her hand to the side to gesture Jenny in. "I'm Shannon. It's nice to meet you in person," she chirped.

Today was probably the best day she'd had in months. Even on the Island, she hadn't had the pleasure of, well, the morning she'd had, a comfortable jog, a nice, long, warm shower, and now a little bit of fun promised by spending a night with a girl. Shannon hadn't had an overnight with a female friend since high school. It was a little weird that she hadn't met Jenny in person before this, but she brushed that away fairly quickly. Considering their current circumstance, Shannon had experienced stranger things.

Jenny wasn't kidding when she said she was tiny. Shannon took in her form and immediately thought to herself what a fantastic gymnast or ballerina Jenny could be based solely on her body type. And she was pretty, which, as much as Shannon hated to admit it, was kind of a big deal so far as Shannon was concerned when it came to the company she kept. Shallow and immature, yeah, but Shannon didn't surround herself with ugly people; she just didn't.

"Welcome to my humble abode," she joked in addition, as, well...the museum was nothing to be proud of, that was for sure. Other than the fact that it housed a lot of good looking, nice, protective men, it was kind of a joke.

"Thank you!" Jenny called and giggled again. Was it possible to get a contact high from pot that isn't being smoked yet? She didn't know but she felt giddy with excitement. She was fidgeting with the paper bag and swaying her skirt back and forth as she waited for the door to be opened for her. The last time she'd been this excited for something it had been the first night Nikki decided to spend the night. This was an entirely different situation, she knew, but it was no less exciting for her.

As soon as she saw Shannon though her smile faded. Not in a bad way. Jenny was just sort of in awe of the girl on the other side of the door. Tall and slender, the blonde lived up to Jenny's idea of a ballerina. She was very pretty and Jenny felt a little twinge of something she was not going to think about. She pushed it to the back her mind and smiled again.

"Hey, thanks. I can't tell you how happy I am to finally be spending the night with people instead of by myself somewhere. I feel sort of at peace now." She giggled at herself and looked slightly apologetic at her silliness. Because she felt silly for feeling as grateful as she did to Shannon for allowing her to come over. Even if it was probably only for one night.

Holding up the bag in her arms, Jenny stepped through into the museum. "Here are the, well, party supplies," she said conspiratorially and giggled again.

"I know the feeling," Shannon agreed readily when Jenny said that she was happy to be spending the night with others rather than being alone. Shannon had felt an intense amount of relief once she'd decided Sam wasn't going to attack her on that night when he'd come. It was lonely and scary sleeping in a strange place all alone and Shannon knew that all too well. "This place is kind of like a big, fucked up, dysfunctional but happy family, though, I like to think, so...welcome," she laughed in response, closing the door behind Jenny once she'd made her way inside.

"And, I know, I'm kind of an amazon, right?" she joked, rolling her eyes playfully, having caught the slight awe in the other woman's eyes upon looking at her for the first time in person. "I cleaned out one of the other rooms, so it's kinda dingy and not as nice as the one I stay in with Sam, but it's not gross anymore," she announced as she nodded toward the hallway and started that way.

She smirked at the statement about the bag Jenny held up. "Sweet," she replied. "What's all in there?" she ventured as she led the way to the back of the hallway, the last room on the left being the one she'd cleared as best she could.

Jenny grinned happily. On the good days, her her house had been sort of like that. A big, fucked up, dysfunctional but happy family. Shane always had friends there and Alice and Dana had always hung around. Carmen... well she wasn't going to think about Carmen. That was one of the cans of worms she was refusing to open tonight. It was just going to be pure fun.

"Amazon? No, but you are tall for a girl. Did you ever model or just," she lowered her voice, "dance?" Jenny could imagine Shannon on the runways in LA. She'd seen her share of fashion shows since she'd had Lez Girls optioned and Shannon had the look of one of those sunny, beach bodies always featured in swimsuit collections.

She followed Shannon, rooting through the bag as she walked and pulling things out to look at them and show Shannon. "We've got some lovely pot. Good quality, I was assured by Sid. And the rolling papers. Then there are some chocolate things for when we get the munchies. I even found some disgusting looking and most likely stale pork rinds somewhere. Oh and some warm sodas in a variety of flavors because I wasn't sure what you'd have or like." She hugged the bag to her chest then and rested her chin on top, eyes slightly wide, taking in her surroundings.

For a second, Shannon just hummed as she shook her head. "I had a guy 'discover' me at a mall one time, but he was pretty creepy and it wasn't really my thing," she replied. "So, really just the dancing. It's okay, I don't care if people know I do it...I just don't want people to see," she added. Then, she paused as she pushed open the door of the back room and gestured for Jenny to head inside. "Although one kid saw me. It scared the shit out of me, because I thought I was alone, and then I was doing a turn and there he was just standing there watching me. He'd never seen or heard of ballet before, can you believe that?" she asked.

As Jenny ticked off the items in the bag, Shannon gave her an impressed look and nodded, grinning slightly. "Rolling papers? Do you know how to do it? Because I sure as hell don't," she laughed. She'd heard in movies and on television that smoking pot would give a person the munchies, but she didn't know if that was real or fictional. Better that Jenny opted to think it was real, just in case it was, she figured. "Wow, way to be prepared, kick ass!" she replied. "I've mainly been sticking to water and, uh, Dr. McGillicuddy," she admitted almost sheepishly.

Once they were both inside, Shannon shut the door and crossed the room to open a window. "You know, just in case," she said at the same time as she thought it. "What does that stuff smell like, when it's smoked, do you think? I wonder if everybody will smell it..." Shannon wasn't sure whether or not she liked the idea of being caught in the act when she didn't know what she was doing. It was cool giving it a try for the first time with someone who also had no idea what they were doing, but for all Shannon knew, the others who lived in the museum would think they were both grinning, giggling idiots.

Jenny breezed into the room as Shannon gestured. She glanced over her shoulder at the other girl with a slightly surprised expression. "Someone caught you but had no idea what you were doing? That had to have been a strange situation. Being private about dancing but caught by someone who didn't know anything about it. Hm. Did it help you relax at least? I mean, before you were caught."

She perched on the edge of a display table, her legs swinging as she set the bag beside her and began pulling things out and pushing art back to make more room. She had a lot of stuff in the bag and she almost felt like Mary Poppins with each thing she pulled out and put on the table. In her excitement none of it had felt all that heavy. Looking at it now, she knew she should have been struggling with that thing.

"I always like to be prepared!" she said and grinned to cover the sudden worry that nagged at the edge of her brain that maybe she looked like she was trying too hard. Oh fuck it. Just have fun!

"Sid taught me what to do with the papers. Sid is so sweet but I don't think he really likes me much anymore." She looked up from the bag as she finished pulling everything out to see Shannon at the window, opening it. A welcome breath of fresh air filtered in and rustled Jenny's hair.

"Good idea because it is rather pungent. It's sort of sweet and it makes your nose burn a little. My roommates smoked it while I was around sometimes. Especially at key parties. I guess no one wants to be sober when they might end up with a total loser at one of those. And believe me, there were always a few with their key in the bowl. I never played for that reason alone."

"Actually, yes. It helped a lot, so thanks for the push in that direction," Shannon replied with a small smile. "And actually, it wasn't so bad even after being caught. He said he didn't know what it was but he thought it was really pretty and asked if I wouldn't mind letting him watch. Once I got over the creep factor and realized he was just some kid who happened by, I didn't actually mind it so much. Cielo, was his name, I think. He had blue dreadlocks which was weird but kinda punk and cool...have you met him?" she asked, settling on the floor opposite where Jenny had set herself on a display table.

Her eyes widened slightly as Jenny just kept pulling more and more things out of the bag. "Damn, girl, how did you carry all that?!" she laughed incredulously. "More importantly, how did that bag hold together?" She smirked and drew her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on them as she watched Jenny empty out the bag of goodies.

"Being prepared is awesome. I never really thought about that kind of thing until the Island," she muttered almost bitterly. Stupid Craphole Island... "But, hey, it came in handy here because I'd had the presence of mind to go to the gas station and stock up on granola and SlimFast bars before the snow got really bad," she said with a small smile. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "Speaking of which, I totally have some of those, too, if we run out of your munchies," she chirped.

Shannon tipped her head slightly to rest her chin on her knees and looked back up at Jenny from her new sideways position. "I haven't met Sid, yet. He's the one from across the pond right? Well, one of the ones? Why wouldn't he like you? I'd think if he gave you weed, he must...most potheads I've met are pretty damn stingy. I guess that stuff is probably pretty expensive," she said with a facial shrug.

Getting to her feet again, Shannon moved closer to Jenny and the mass of stuff all over the table. "Should we just get right to it? You think we should blow it out the windows?" she asked. "Oh and if you don't have a lighter with you, I can go grab mine. Or my matches, I still have some of those left," she added nonchalantly. Jenny mentioned a "key party" and Shannon furrowed her brow just slightly with confusion. It sounded like something she might've heard in passing, but she wasn't really sure what that was. "Yeah, ha, probably," she agreed with absolutely no conviction, given her lack of knowledge on the subject.

"No, I haven't met him! He sounds like some of the people I used to see at Bette's art galleries back in LA. And if you like him, I'm bound to. I think you and I are very similar in a lot of ways. Except I think you're probably braver than I am." She caught a breath at having revealed that much and smiled, switching the subject quickly. "I'm glad you danced! I started writing so I think we both found our relaxation techniques."

"You know? I have no idea. This place must be magic," she said in a weighted tone. It was obvious that this place wasn't normal and she didn't like it at all. She'd even heard there were people who hunted ghosts and time traveled. That was deeply unsettling to her.

Jenny look dubiously at all of the munchies she'd already bought and started to giggle. "If we eat all of this AND need something else, we will have to be really wasted. Do you know how nice it will be to just take a mental break from all of this?" She stopped talking immediately because she was getting close to revealing too much. Looking away she messed with the rolling papers, setting them out precisely side by side in a line.

"Oh, well I think the Brits have a different way of handling things. He's very nice and well, did you see how much pot there was? I mean bricks and bricks. No one could smoke that much in 2 years!" She avoided answering the question though because that was a sore subject for her. She'd fucked up royally and she knew it. It made her want to dive into self-loathing but she reminded herself that this was a FUN night. None of that.

When Shannon spoke again she looked up and smiled. "I wasn't sure if you really wanted to but I kind of want to get started now. Is that okay?" Then she slapped her forehead with her fist lightly. "I can't believe I forgot a lighter. I have everything else but no lighter! Do you mind?"

Shannon smiled. "Yeah, he's a nice kid from what I gathered. I have noticed we seem to have a lot in common. That's actually...well, nice," she replied with a softening of her smile. "Like I said, it's not often I have friends that are girls. Ha, maybe if you get me high enough, I'll dance in here when no one else can see. I've seen your writing, so, really, it's only fair," she added, only half-serious.

A pensive look crossed Shannon's features, replacing the smile that had been there before. "I think it would have to be..." she thought aloud. Then she focused on Jenny again. "I mean, well...bringing us from all kinds of times and places. Hell, even different planets, I think, from the sounds of things. And dropping in aliens and stuff? The Weevils, I mean," Shannon replied. "So weird."

Laughing, Shannon shook her head. "Seriously, if we eat all that and need more, we're both going to need a shoehorn or something to get back out of this room, sweet Jesus," she replied, still laughing. "I do. I really, really do," she agreed when asked - probably hypothetically - whether she knew how nice it would be to take a break. "I had a fucked up day yesterday. Like...really fucked up," she sighed. And then, she shook her head as Jenny got to work laying out the rolling papers. "But, that was then and this is now and we're going to have fun," she insisted.

"Uh uh, I haven't been there since they got all excited about it showing up there," Shannon replied almost apologetically. "How much do you think there is? Like, really, I mean?" she asked, raising her eyebrows with curiosity.

Shannon's lips twitched into another smile. "I think today is definitely my day for trying things I've never tried, so, yeah, you do whatever you gotta do with that," she said, "and I'll go grab my lighter." With that, Shannon flounced out of the room and headed back down the hall to the room she shared with Sam. Rummaging through her things, she pulled out the lighter as well as the matches and grabbed her torch, because it was starting to get dark.

All that taken care of, she headed back to the room where she'd left Jenny and held up the torch with an exaggerated flourish. "Let there be light!" she laughed. "Here ya go," she added, tossing the box of matches, because she thought that'd be easier to catch than the lighter, especially in the dim light that was leftover in the room before she'd brought in the torch.

Shannon moved away, scanning the floor for a place to wedge her torch. "So what does this stuff actually do? I mean I know it's a drug, but like...is it a hallucinogen?" she asked a little nervously. Ah ha, there was a spot where the floorboards didn't quite meet up. She shoved the torch down into it and wiggled it until it stayed upright on its own. "Voila," she said more to herself than to Jenny before turning back to the other woman.

"No, I haven't had many friends that were girls either. At least, not real ones. I think I better get to rolling this shit then. I would love to see you dance," Jenny said honestly. She was very much a connoisseur of the arts, whether it be dance or paintings or classical music. She loved it all if she could see it first hand. It would be really nice to see Shannon dance too if not because she believed Shannon could be graceful and pretty while she danced.

She didn't really want to think or talk too much about how unsettling this place was to her with its magical aspirations. It was almost like someone else pulled the strings and that would shatter her idea that they were being collected because they were attractive. She rather hoped that being attractive would save her ass. Being a puppet was not at all going to keep her safe.

"Oh there had to be 50 pounds of it or more! The cooler was full! I think that's the only reason I was allowed to take some. Who could be stingy with a surplus?" she asked and shrugged her shoulders, tossing her hair back a bit and reaching for the block of pot. Breaking off a piece of it in her fingers, she played with it for a moment, feeling the texture between her fingertips and getting a tactile idea of it. She liked the way it smelled and hoped it wouldn't be too unpleasant to smoke.

When Shannon got back with the torch, Jenny smiled. She'd rolled two cigarette-shaped things with the pot and rolling papers. She wasn't sure she'd done it right especially because she'd been doing it mostly in the dark. But now, in the light, they looked like cigarettes. Homemade cigarettes but smokeable nonetheless. She held up one between her small fingers and turned it back and forth, looking from it to Shannon. "Are you ready for this?"

She caught the box of matches and held out one of the doobies to Shannon for her to take. Once she had the matches in her hand, she lit one and watched the flame spit and spark for a moment before lighting the pot and taking in a deep breath the way she'd watched Shane do a thousand times. Amidst the coughing that ensued and the tears in her eyes the fell down her cheeks, she giggled. "I have no idea what it really does but everyone I've ever seen do it got really mellow. Happy. That's what I want."

Looking back at the joint, which looked to Shannon like a homemade, poor man's version of a cigarette, she gave a facial shrug and took the one Jenny held out. "Sure, why the hell not?" she asked, smirking slightly as she shrugged.

She watched Jenny, because she hadn't ever smoked anything before and wasn't really entirely sure how it worked. Here was to hoping that the cannabis being good for asthma thing wasn't bullshit or she'd be really sorry, really quickly, that she was willing to give it a go. It didn't look entirely pleasant the way Jenny burst into a coughing fit and tears sprang to her eyes, but she was giggling none the less so maybe Sid hadn't been lying to the other woman when he said it was good stuff. Maybe it was working its mojo on Jenny already. In that case, bombs away.

Shannon mirrored Jenny's action, putting the joint between her lips and striking the lighter, igniting the end of it and sucking in some of the smoke. It burned like a motherfucker and before she could even finish her first inhale, she was hacking up a storm. She, too, had tears running down her cheeks. "Oh my God, I feel like a bad actress on an after school special," she laughed once the coughing finally calmed. "Happy? I'm all for that," she added. Once her throat stopped burning, she took another drag off the thing and struggled not to cough the second time - failing - as she moved toward the window to blow the smoke back out. "How long before this stuff is supposed to --" she cut herself off and rested a hand on the window pane, blinking slowly and feeling a little lightheaded. "Woo...okay then..." she giggled, snorting in an effort not to laugh out loud.

Jenny smiled as Shannon took the handmade cigarette from her fingers. It was the start of a new adventure in Vas Captio. For her at least. She was glad to have company as she tried to unwind. She'd seen it work so well for the people around her and she was hoping beyond hope that she could have at least a few moments' reprieve from this whole thing because this place definitely sucked ass.

The weed burned horribly as she inhaled. The coughing and tearing were so unattractive that Jenny almost wished she had never thought up this plan to bring the pot and smoke it. Then the sensation subsided and Shannon was following suit. That made her feel a bit less self-conscious so she took another drag on her own, slipping from the display table to settle on the sill of the open window.

"This stuff is stinky!" she said and held her nose, giggling. Was it actually working or was she just in total dork mode? No, she couldn't be this dorky in real life. It was too vulnerable. This must be the weed working. She took another drag and held it in her lungs as long as she could manage in spite of the coughing and her world suddenly went down a drain slowly. Her ears heard the slow whirling which could only be the sound of blood in her ears. It tickled and she giggled again.

"Wow. I think I should take it easy with this stuff or I'm going to be swirling into oblivion soon. Puking!"

It was unclear what drew Jack to the girls -- if it was the sound of voices in the museum or the scent of pot. Whatever it was, Jack rose from the makeshift bed and began winding his way through the museum, looking for whatever was making the sound. One voice he didn't quite recognise, but the closer he got, he could pick out Shannon's tone of voice. Jack's hand rested over his wrist strap, aching to open it, but not wanting the reminder that it was nothing more than a plastic toy to come staring him in the face either.

Damn.

Rounding a corner, the voices (and the smell for that matter) grew stronger. He followed both, heels thudding against the floor as he walked. He didn't bother to move quietly -- logically the other voice had to belong to the one Shannon had mentioned. Jack poked his head inside and grinned. "What's this? A party and I wasn't invited?" His attention briefly turned to Shannon as he flashed her a smile. "Particularly with two fantastic looking women." He shrugged. "It's late. Flattery is a little more blatant at this time of night, and for that I apologise. It's been a long day."

Another drag and Shannon was all but crying for all the tears streaming down her cheeks. "Smells like ass!" Shannon agreed, laughing and coughing all the same as she tried, too, to hold the inhalation in a little longer than the split second she had for the first two drags. "Oh, my God," she coughed. "No puking," she giggled.

At the sound of Jack's voice, Shannon whirled around, grabbing Jenny by the shoulder to keep from falling over from the dizziness that came with a movement far faster than her mind was working. She snorted as she pursed her lips together not to laugh or say anything terribly stupid as she held the hand with the joint between her first and middle finger out the window. "Hmm?" she asked, eyes wide with badly feigned innocence. "Oh!" She pulled Jenny closer and draped her arm around the other woman's shoulders. "Jenny, Jack; Jack, Jenny."

"I never mind being told I'm attractive; dunno about Jenny," Shannon replied. She let go of Jenny and carefully balanced the joint on the window sill, all but bouncing over to Jack. "Do you have water?" she asked in a very serious, urgent tone. "I'm so fucking thirsty and I really want water," she told him as she wrapped her arms around his neck and hung from him, grinning widely up at him. Jack was so cool. Man, no, Jack was so fucking cool!

"Haha! Ass," Jenny laughed and shook her head, grinning as her hair fluttered all around her shoulders. She watched it for a moment and giggled at it. "No, no, no, no, no puking. I promise!" Giggling more, she set the cigarette down on the windowsill and brushed the extra flakes of pot from her dress. She breathed in a deep, greedy gulp of air from the window and then there was a voice in the doorway.

Lazily, Jenny turned her gaze toward the person who was speaking as Shannon seemed to launch herself toward the person. "Jack?" she asked with a wide smile on her face. Then she recognized the face at the door and all the color drained from her face, leaving her ears pounding with the adrenaline that sprang into her system. That was the man. He'd followed her! He wanted to hurt her again. "Oh no. Oh no. Oh fucking no," she whispered, shaking her head.

"A-attractive? Shannon, don't hug him! Stay away from him. He'll hurt you!" Jenny gripped the windowsill with her fingers, her knuckles going white with pressure. Gripping so tightly, she started to lose her balance and slid involuntarily from the sill. Collapsing onto the floor she burst out laughing. "He always makes me fall down!"

Now this? If Jack was in possession of a camera, he would have taken pictures. Preferably with video. Jack wasn't above or below blackmail -- though it really wasn't like there was anything to gain by having incriminating photographs or videos now, was there? Jack still wasn't convinced they all weren't being observed on CCTV at all times either.

"Sorry, no water on me," Jack said, catching Shannon and slipping an arm around her waist to steady her. He coughed, waving a hand in front of his face to blow the smoke away. "Haven't heard either of you here so you couldn't have smoked that--"

He broke off abruptly seeing the look on Jenny's face. "Wait -- I haven't met you before," Jack said, frowning. "Usually it takes at least one meeting before someone has that sort of reaction." Still holding onto Shannon (Jack was wondering if he was going to be playing 'pick-up-man' tonight), he eased his way towards Jenny. "C'mere. It's okay. Just Jack. Nothing harmful about me."

"Ugh, bummer," Shannon muttered, frowning slightly when Jack said he had no water. She supposed she could go get some, but Jenny had been nice enough to bring soda, anyway, so maybe she ought to just have some of that. Yeah. Ohhh! It would be fizzy! Fuck yes! "Yeah, but...it's like, super pot!" she exclaimed. "Sid said so. Right?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at Jenny.

When Jenny told her not to hug Jack and that Jack was going to hurt her, Shannon snorted again and shook her head. "Ohmigod, no fucking way, Jack's the shit!" she insisted. She opened her mouth to say that she must've met the clone when Jack said he hadn't met her before. She giggled and dropped her head forward against Jack's chest when he started moving, dragging her along with him.

"Jack won't hurt you," she said and then finally let go of him, flouncing back toward Jenny and taking both of the other woman's hands in her own, trying to pull her back up off the floor. "You must've met the clone one. I heard he was fucking crazy," she said, eyes wide again and head bobbing in what was supposed to be a nod of finality and failed horribly at being what it was supposed to be.

A moment later, Shannon was taking another drag. "Jack. You can't tell," she said seriously, only managing to stay that way for a second before the coughing fit took over and she burst back into another round of giggles, waving her hand in front of her face when she hadn't had the chance to turn toward the window to blow out the smoke.

She watched Jack drag Shannon toward her and that was too funny for her not to laugh about. He was a good sport but Shannon wasn't all that heavy. She couldn't be with that figure. Jenny sat in a pile of her skirt and reached up for the pot she'd rested on the windowsill as they advanced. She was split in two as she took another drag, choking it down a bit more easily than she had before and blowing it out in a perfect ring. Both scared and amused. Giggly and terrified.

Jenny let Shannon pull her up, giggling as she flopped against the other girl. Momentarily Jenny felt a surge of electricity as her body met Shannon's but then she was tumbling into Jack too in a whirl of skirts and hair. She couldn't stop laughing even though part of her was seriously terrified that this Jack was the same Jack as yesterday and that he was going to get her hurt the way the other one had. The scratches still visible on her left arm from where she'd fallen into the broken branch.

"Jack, hi. No, we haven't met I don't think. Have we? You're not a clone, right?" she asked and tried not to look up into his eyes. Looking up when you were chest to chest with a man was just an invitation for a kiss, wasn't it? She didn't want to be kissed, did she?

Really, what Jack wouldn't give for any sort of recording device right about now. His eyes flicked towards his left wrist and he sighed. Given enough time he might be able to fashion it working, but that didn't do him any bit of good right then and there, did it? "Super pot?" Jack asked with a raised eyebrow. "Does that come complete with tights and a cape?"

The more he thought, the more he realised that had Jenny met him before now, it had to be the clone. Again, damage the damned things had done. Jack grumbled under his breath, muttering a few choice obsceniteds while he looked back and forth between the two very stoned girls. Wait, even better than a video camera: put them up some where and start charging admission. He could make a veritable fortune before the week was out.

Jenny's laughter seemed odd somehow and not in the "I'm as high as a kite and therefore everything is fucking hilarious" sort of way. It had to be the clone -- no matter what the thing had said, it had been an absolute menace. Jack looked at Jenny and shook his head slowly. "I can assure you I'm not the clone. Which, while is something the clone would say to get you to believe him, I promise you I'm the genuine article." He carefully snaked an arm around Jenny's waist for the express purpose of keeping her from falling yet again. "You sure you're all right?" Jack asked, eyes falling on the bag, then back at Jenny and Shannon. "And I can assure you we haven't met. I'd remember your face."

"Tights and a cape! AH HA! Jack, you're fucking hysterical!" Shannon gasped between giggles.

Jenny fell into her and Shannon had to take one step back to keep from falling over entirely as she took Jenny's shoulders in her hands to steady her. "Easy killer," she said with a smirk. Shannon listened idly while Jack and Jenny conversed and she was sure that Jack would be able to convince Jenny, too, that he wasn't the clone.

She took another drag and this time, turned toward the window, blowing her smoke back outside and closing her eyes. Her head was swimming pleasantly and her knees buckled beneath her, sending her sliding less than gracefully back onto the floor.

When she opened her eyes again, she looked back at Jack and tipped her head slightly to the side. He really was very handsome, wasn't he? Like...really, really. She understood, she thought, all of a sudden - like an epiphany of sorts - why Ianto was so fond of him. Jack was attractive, but he was a really great guy. "Jack saved my life one time," she found herself announcing without really thinking about it. "So, he wouldn't hurt you," she added by way of explanation, taking another drag. "Are we supposed to hold it in?" she asked Jenny in a choked voice as she tried to do just that, wiping her eyes with her other hand.

Jenny smiled at Shannon apologetically as the other girl had to steady her while she seemingly rolled across her. "Sorry, Shannon!" she squeaked as she kept moving. She wasn't entirely sorry because she hadn't entirely hated it. But she wasn't about to cause the ick factor in this equation so she followed her own momentum into Jack in spite of the fact that she was still somewhat terrified of him.

Jenny looked earnestly up at Jack, trying not to lick her lips because she was so damned thirsty now. But if looking up was an invitation, licking her lips had to be even more so. She didn't want him to take her wrong but she couldn't help herself. She licked her lips and giggled. "Okay okay, so you're not a clone. I think the the Doctor was wrong though. He said you'd hit on a table and you haven't hit on either one of us yet!" she accused and dissolved into giggles again, dancing away from Jack in a twirl of her skirt.

If Shannon was okay with Jack, why shouldn't Jenny be? She grinned at the darkness beyond the window and sang softly to herself, "Anytime I need to see your face I just close my eyes and I am taken to a place where your crystal mind..." her voice trailed off into giggles and she took another drag from the weed in her fingers.

"Yes, I think you're supposed to hold it in. I think. I don't know but I think so. Thinking is fun, isn't it, Shannon?"

Jack was torn between utter amusement and wanting to beat his head against something hard. Give two girls a load of (another sniff, yes he was right) pot and this was what happened. Though, judging by the scent in here, they hadn't been lit that long. Either the stuff they had managed to procure was just that good or the girls had a very low tolerance for marijuana. No matter what, it led for a very amusing night.

"Saving lives, that's what I do best." A beat pause. "No, not what I do best," Jack said with a wink. "But one of the many things I do oh so well."

No, he certainly wasn't a clone -- judging by how his clone had acted? This was exactly what Jack had feared would happen. People he hadn't even met were now scared to death of him. Fantastic.

"There isn't a t able around here to catch my eye yet," Jack replied with a shrug. "I also just met you. Technically, it's a bit hard to flirt when the girl throws herself at you. Takes away all the fun." His eyes slid to Shannon but he said nothing before turning back to Jenny. "However, a situation I can easily remedy. Particularly as the whole 'lip-licking' thing shows definite interest."

"Magenta feelings take up shelter in the base of my spine, sweet like a chicka cherry cola," Shannon finished, grinning and giggling before taking another drag off the joint as she looked up at Jenny. The joint was still between her lips when she grinned mischievously around it in response to Jenny pointing out to Jack that he hadn't hit on either of them yet. "He did say we were attractive. And I don't need Jack to hit on me anymore," she added with another giggled. Her eyes moved to Jack. "Not that I would hate it," she quickly amended.

Shannon took another drag and held it in, coughing against her will and having to take another pull on the joint to try again while Jack explained his reasoning for not hitting on either of them. She caught his eyes when he looked over at her and she said nothing, either. Then, she looked back at Jenny when Jack pointed out that 'lip-licking' could show interest. Jenny likes girls, Jack; I'd have better luck than you, she thought to herself and laughed out loud to herself in response to it. No, that was a bad idea. Shannon wasn't all that curious about the female body - she had one of her own, after all - and even if she was, she was pretty sure she filled her pleasure quota for the day long before this point.

"Oh, Jack, did you want some?" she asked, sounding suddenly scandalized by the fact that she hadn't thought to offer him one sooner. She held the joint out toward him in case he did and blinked innocently up at him, doe-eyed and pouty-lipped.

Jenny giggled as Shannon finished her song. She was a swirling flower of cream and rosebuds. Her tea dress flaring out around her as she danced to the lack of music in the room. Her eyes went wide though with seriousness and curiosity when Shannon said she didn't need Jack to hit on her anymore. "Do you mean he already did?" she asked and glanced over at Jack.

"You bad boy! Well I'm not on you now but I only licked my lips because I'm thirsty." To demonstrate this fact, Jenny waltzed to the table holding the sodas and popped the top from one. It fizzed out a little onto her hands and she licked it from her skin, giggling as the bubbles tickled her nose. "That tickles!" she protested before taking a long drink and slamming it back down on the table. "Right. Now I need more to smoke."

She wandered to where she'd left her cigarette and picked it up, taking a long, dramatic drag and spluttering into coughs and giggles. "No! Shannon don't give him any. He's going to save our lives. Or something." She burst out laughing again and cocked an eyebrow playfully at Jack as she settled herself up on the windowsill, kicking her bare feet back and forth.

There had to be a porno like this: dashing man and two women, both getting high and giggling. And if there wasn't, he was about to live it -- not that Jack was complaining in the slightest, however. "I did say you ladies were attractive," Jack repeated, eyes sliding to Shannon. He pointed playfully, attempting an accusatory tone with her. "And here I thought you liked it when I hit on you. Foreshame, woe, and you have cut me to my very core." Jack tossed his head back, hand against his forehead. "However shall I live?"

He stepped into the room and held his hand out for the joint. Wouldn't be the first, wouldn't be the last, and it wasn't like it'd really affect him either so what was the harm?

"I'm going to save your lives?" Jack asked, lifting a brow. "Outside of getting out of this place, what do I have to save you from. The horrors of pot?" He took a drag on the offered joint, handing it back to Shannon, smoke held in his mouth before he released it. "See? Some of us can hold our smoke," He said, hopping up on the sill beside Jenny.

"Course he did," Shannon chirped. "Jack appreciates a hottie when he sees one, don'tcha, Jack?" she asked, grinning and then winking. "And...I said I wouldn't hate it. I do rather like it, actually, I'm not gonna lie," she admitted airily in response to Jack's playful accusation. She giggled and shook her head, rolling her eyes as she grinned at his over dramatics. "Oh, Jack..." she laughed, trying very hard to sound disapproving and failing miserably as such.

When he held his hand out, Shannon gave him hers and looked back at Jenny. "Save us from what? Too much fun?" she teased in response to Jenny's outburst in protest to her offering Jack the joint. "'sides, he can't have the whole one, it's mine," she insisted, looking back at Jack pointedly at that.

Taking the joint back when it was offered in return, Shannon took another drag and looked back and forth between the two of them as Jack hopped up to sit beside Jenny on the sill. Half of her was happy to see it and the other half felt a little left out. For no reason at all that she could find in her conscious mind. Thus, she left it alone and shook her head. "Ah, some of us have had more than one drag and some of us have never smoked before," Shannon pointed out, sticking her tongue out at him and making a face. "Right, Jenny?" she asked, moving her eyes to rest on her friend, brows arched slightly.

Jenny took a drag from the cigarette and attempted to blow it out in a ring toward Jack. She elbowed him playfully, leaning into him as she did it and giggling. "You're going to save us when we try to go stumbling outside hollering that the British are coming or something like that. Or maybe," she said and leaned in closer to Jack, speaking conspiratorially in a giggly voice with her hand up to block the view of her mouth from Shannon, "you're supposed to save me from my horrible girl crush on Shannon."

She burst into laughter and held her stomach with one hand. She grinned as Shannon teased Jack and kicked her feet back and forth, glancing at her toes as she did. It had been way too long since she'd had a pedicure and her toenail polish was chipped and scratched. She pouted and took another drag of her cigarette, this time trying to hold in the smoke the way Jack had done. It resulted in a fit of coughs and more giggles.

"You're right, Shannon. Some of us are not professional drug doers." She gasped, amusedly and pointed at Shannon who had stuck her tongue out at Jack. "You're shameless! Be careful what you offer to this guy. I think he might take you up on it. Wouldn't you, Jack?"

She had no idea what she was talking about anymore. Her head was swimming and everything felt pretty and happy. No more worries on her mind. No more horrible lonliness and desire to cause a dramatic scene. She could stay here forever, she decided. On the windowsill with a gentle breeze at her back and two very fun people in the room with her.
