Day 9: Evening
Who: Jenny Schecter & Shannon Rutherford & OTA museum dwellers (quick tag posting only please)
What: Experimentation Slumber Party
When: Just after dark
Where: Museum
Rating: R (language, drugs, and other naughty things probably)
Status: Dropped

Jenny smiled widely as she sauntered up the steps to the museum front door in the pale twilight. She had, in her hand, a paper bag from the gas station. In it she'd managed to collect a few items for a fun time. Some of them she might not have normally brought or consumed, like the brick of pot and rolling papers that Sid had thankfully allowed her to have and taught her to use. Some of them were only for certain fun times like slumber parties with pot, like the munchies which were probably stale but would be delicious when they were both fiending for food.

This was going to be a seriously fun night. She hoped that she wouldn't fuck it up the way she had fucked up just about everything else she'd tried to do since she was tossed into the fray. As long as she kept her mind off her past and anything unhappy or scary, she should do fine. She could handle that, right? Besides this was Shannon. Shannon was cool and they shared enough in common that Shannon would probably understand if she slipped a little. She hoped.

With a deep breath, Jenny brushed her hand down the length of her slightly dirty tea dress, brushed the hair from her eyes and knocked on the door to the museum. She bounced a little on her heels with anticipation. She couldn't wait to get started.

For a second, Shannon just hummed as she shook her head. "I had a guy 'discover' me at a mall one time, but he was pretty creepy and it wasn't really my thing," she replied. "So, really just the dancing. It's okay, I don't care if people know I do it...I just don't want people to see," she added. Then, she paused as she pushed open the door of the back room and gestured for Jenny to head inside. "Although one kid saw me. It scared the shit out of me, because I thought I was alone, and then I was doing a turn and there he was just standing there watching me. He'd never seen or heard of ballet before, can you believe that?" she asked.

As Jenny ticked off the items in the bag, Shannon gave her an impressed look and nodded, grinning slightly. "Rolling papers? Do you know how to do it? Because I sure as hell don't," she laughed. She'd heard in movies and on television that smoking pot would give a person the munchies, but she didn't know if that was real or fictional. Better that Jenny opted to think it was real, just in case it was, she figured. "Wow, way to be prepared, kick ass!" she replied. "I've mainly been sticking to water and, uh, Dr. McGillicuddy," she admitted almost sheepishly.

Once they were both inside, Shannon shut the door and crossed the room to open a window. "You know, just in case," she said at the same time as she thought it. "What does that stuff smell like, when it's smoked, do you think? I wonder if everybody will smell it..." Shannon wasn't sure whether or not she liked the idea of being caught in the act when she didn't know what she was doing. It was cool giving it a try for the first time with someone who also had no idea what they were doing, but for all Shannon knew, the others who lived in the museum would think they were both grinning, giggling idiots.

Jenny breezed into the room as Shannon gestured. She glanced over her shoulder at the other girl with a slightly surprised expression. "Someone caught you but had no idea what you were doing? That had to have been a strange situation. Being private about dancing but caught by someone who didn't know anything about it. Hm. Did it help you relax at least? I mean, before you were caught."

She perched on the edge of a display table, her legs swinging as she set the bag beside her and began pulling things out and pushing art back to make more room. She had a lot of stuff in the bag and she almost felt like Mary Poppins with each thing she pulled out and put on the table. In her excitement none of it had felt all that heavy. Looking at it now, she knew she should have been struggling with that thing.

"I always like to be prepared!" she said and grinned to cover the sudden worry that nagged at the edge of her brain that maybe she looked like she was trying too hard. Oh fuck it. Just have fun!

"Sid taught me what to do with the papers. Sid is so sweet but I don't think he really likes me much anymore." She looked up from the bag as she finished pulling everything out to see Shannon at the window, opening it. A welcome breath of fresh air filtered in and rustled Jenny's hair.

"Good idea because it is rather pungent. It's sort of sweet and it makes your nose burn a little. My roommates smoked it while I was around sometimes. Especially at key parties. I guess no one wants to be sober when they might end up with a total loser at one of those. And believe me, there were always a few with their key in the bowl. I never played for that reason alone."
