Entry tags:!dropped, day 09, jack harkness, jenny schecter, location: museum, open, shannon rutherford

Day 9: Evening
Who: Jenny Schecter & Shannon Rutherford & OTA museum dwellers (quick tag posting only please)
What: Experimentation Slumber Party
When: Just after dark
Where: Museum
Rating: R (language, drugs, and other naughty things probably)
Status: Dropped

Jenny smiled widely as she sauntered up the steps to the museum front door in the pale twilight. She had, in her hand, a paper bag from the gas station. In it she'd managed to collect a few items for a fun time. Some of them she might not have normally brought or consumed, like the brick of pot and rolling papers that Sid had thankfully allowed her to have and taught her to use. Some of them were only for certain fun times like slumber parties with pot, like the munchies which were probably stale but would be delicious when they were both fiending for food.

This was going to be a seriously fun night. She hoped that she wouldn't fuck it up the way she had fucked up just about everything else she'd tried to do since she was tossed into the fray. As long as she kept her mind off her past and anything unhappy or scary, she should do fine. She could handle that, right? Besides this was Shannon. Shannon was cool and they shared enough in common that Shannon would probably understand if she slipped a little. She hoped.

With a deep breath, Jenny brushed her hand down the length of her slightly dirty tea dress, brushed the hair from her eyes and knocked on the door to the museum. She bounced a little on her heels with anticipation. She couldn't wait to get started.

Shannon smiled. "Yeah, he's a nice kid from what I gathered. I have noticed we seem to have a lot in common. That's actually...well, nice," she replied with a softening of her smile. "Like I said, it's not often I have friends that are girls. Ha, maybe if you get me high enough, I'll dance in here when no one else can see. I've seen your writing, so, really, it's only fair," she added, only half-serious.

A pensive look crossed Shannon's features, replacing the smile that had been there before. "I think it would have to be..." she thought aloud. Then she focused on Jenny again. "I mean, well...bringing us from all kinds of times and places. Hell, even different planets, I think, from the sounds of things. And dropping in aliens and stuff? The Weevils, I mean," Shannon replied. "So weird."

Laughing, Shannon shook her head. "Seriously, if we eat all that and need more, we're both going to need a shoehorn or something to get back out of this room, sweet Jesus," she replied, still laughing. "I do. I really, really do," she agreed when asked - probably hypothetically - whether she knew how nice it would be to take a break. "I had a fucked up day yesterday. Like...really fucked up," she sighed. And then, she shook her head as Jenny got to work laying out the rolling papers. "But, that was then and this is now and we're going to have fun," she insisted.

"Uh uh, I haven't been there since they got all excited about it showing up there," Shannon replied almost apologetically. "How much do you think there is? Like, really, I mean?" she asked, raising her eyebrows with curiosity.

Shannon's lips twitched into another smile. "I think today is definitely my day for trying things I've never tried, so, yeah, you do whatever you gotta do with that," she said, "and I'll go grab my lighter." With that, Shannon flounced out of the room and headed back down the hall to the room she shared with Sam. Rummaging through her things, she pulled out the lighter as well as the matches and grabbed her torch, because it was starting to get dark.

All that taken care of, she headed back to the room where she'd left Jenny and held up the torch with an exaggerated flourish. "Let there be light!" she laughed. "Here ya go," she added, tossing the box of matches, because she thought that'd be easier to catch than the lighter, especially in the dim light that was leftover in the room before she'd brought in the torch.

Shannon moved away, scanning the floor for a place to wedge her torch. "So what does this stuff actually do? I mean I know it's a drug, but like...is it a hallucinogen?" she asked a little nervously. Ah ha, there was a spot where the floorboards didn't quite meet up. She shoved the torch down into it and wiggled it until it stayed upright on its own. "Voila," she said more to herself than to Jenny before turning back to the other woman.

"No, I haven't had many friends that were girls either. At least, not real ones. I think I better get to rolling this shit then. I would love to see you dance," Jenny said honestly. She was very much a connoisseur of the arts, whether it be dance or paintings or classical music. She loved it all if she could see it first hand. It would be really nice to see Shannon dance too if not because she believed Shannon could be graceful and pretty while she danced.

She didn't really want to think or talk too much about how unsettling this place was to her with its magical aspirations. It was almost like someone else pulled the strings and that would shatter her idea that they were being collected because they were attractive. She rather hoped that being attractive would save her ass. Being a puppet was not at all going to keep her safe.

"Oh there had to be 50 pounds of it or more! The cooler was full! I think that's the only reason I was allowed to take some. Who could be stingy with a surplus?" she asked and shrugged her shoulders, tossing her hair back a bit and reaching for the block of pot. Breaking off a piece of it in her fingers, she played with it for a moment, feeling the texture between her fingertips and getting a tactile idea of it. She liked the way it smelled and hoped it wouldn't be too unpleasant to smoke.

When Shannon got back with the torch, Jenny smiled. She'd rolled two cigarette-shaped things with the pot and rolling papers. She wasn't sure she'd done it right especially because she'd been doing it mostly in the dark. But now, in the light, they looked like cigarettes. Homemade cigarettes but smokeable nonetheless. She held up one between her small fingers and turned it back and forth, looking from it to Shannon. "Are you ready for this?"

She caught the box of matches and held out one of the doobies to Shannon for her to take. Once she had the matches in her hand, she lit one and watched the flame spit and spark for a moment before lighting the pot and taking in a deep breath the way she'd watched Shane do a thousand times. Amidst the coughing that ensued and the tears in her eyes the fell down her cheeks, she giggled. "I have no idea what it really does but everyone I've ever seen do it got really mellow. Happy. That's what I want."
