On to some lighter news. So whatever gracious thing goes on in this place, it also saw fit to give me some Podcasting equipment. With that I can officially state that What The Ghost will be back in business. I can't give a definite date just yet because I'm still figuring out the last bit of logistics which are (but not limited to):

Sponsors god: back in London I did at least three shout outs per show so if you have a business and would like it to be mentioned let me know and we can work out details. For people who don't know what that is, that basically explains it, but it also involves giving out a small discount to attract people. There's a bit more to that, in all fairness but that we can talk about.

Topics: so I realize that not everyone knows the legends of home so I can obviously talk about those, but I could also have guests who talk about specific legends and spooky stuff from their own homes (whether that's another Earth that sentence or a different world) and perhaps I could give a bit of details about the various things that pop up around here. Enough where they could be 'this is what this specific thing from home looks like/how they act/how you may want to deal with that'. I don't want to step on any toes though, or make the podcast too heavy but that is an option. I'm also going to be looking around Vallo for spooky stories. Those who have been here longer are welcome to give me pointers to where I should look and who I should talk to.

So those are the two things I still need to hammer out. Once I've got those I'll have to look into a streaming service, and I'll have to figure out how often I'd want to do shows which is another question to pose. Would people be interested in a weekly thing, or should I spread it out a little more?

[Jon]

So...old format, new format?

Well I'm grateful.

[Tim]
It would be, and I think ghost stories are pretty universal. I've one friend willing to talk about her ghost stories already.

I don't know either and I wish I did. All I've got is stories and ties I'm trying to put together. Jon's filled me in, and so has Melanie but that hardly feels enough.

Alright. So onto lighter topics do you like Hungarian food?

I'm sure you're right. Even if people are from a over here, things go bump in the night everywhere. And it would be interesting to get a cross cultural comparison going on how people respond to them.

Honestly? Count yourself lucky that you don't know more than that. I wouldn't have wished it on my worst enemy.

Oh, hell yeah. There was this little hole in the wall in Camden I used to go to all the time. Best paprikash you'd ever had.

Exactly! I think it's fascinating, but I may not have the best baseline for it all.

Maybe but I can't help thinking if I'd learned more, sooner, I could have helped rather then shut Jon (and by that extension all of you) out.

Oh thank God a rational soul. No one else understands.

I think you've got a pretty decent baseline for it, considering. You've definitely got both ends of the spectrum. Especially if you had to deal with Mr. Skeptic at his worst.

I think we've all got regrets like that. It's a wonder what having the big picture when it's being deliberately kept from you can do to your understanding.

Clearly, they just have no taste.

He'll frown at me for even breathing mentions of this but he wasn't always at his worst. I mean we didn't talk spooky stuff at uni, but still.

It is but I have to acknowledge it was more then being kept from me. I deliberately didn't try looking for more answers, because I was convinced I knew what was going on.

oh man, I know. Jon will indulge me but now there's at least someone with some taste here.

I always pictured university Jon as that gaunt kid in the back of the class that never slept and locked himself in one of the 24 hour study rooms at the campus library most of the time. Am I wrong, Georgie? Was I wrong? Because if I was, I want to know everything.

I think most everyone thought they had a decent understanding of what was happening. Everyone except And when there's a crisis you can do nothing about, sometimes it's easier not to think about it.

Does he just not like paprika? That's always the issue I've found trying to get people interested. But I can never understand who in their right mind wouldn't like paprika.

I am the keeper of so many ridiculous Jon at Uni stories, so yes. Wrong. I promised myself Martin gets dibs about the truly glorious ones but ask Jon about space pirates one day. What he won't tell you, I will.

True. Still. But hindsight is 20/20.

Jon claims such heresies like needing spice.

I... have no idea what that means, but I am definitely intrigued.

But we can't keep kicking ourselves about hindsight. We'll just get sore, and it still won't change anything.

Not everything has to be a vindaloo and blow out your taste buds. I'm sure if we got him the right pörkölt, he couldn't tell the difference.

I'm being very mysterious, but trust me just mention it to him. The look on his face might be worth a lot.

This is true. All we can do is be better.

I remain ever hopeful, but so far you're the only one who actually sees the light.
