It's baby dino season on the island, apparently. My last two trips out here have had a few baby encounters, which means they're thriving!

I know that a lot of the kids that loved If there's any interest in doing another education overnight camping trip, let me know and I'll plan one. I can't promise you'll get to see the baby raptors (safety reasons), but I can give you these pics and a [VIDEO] that I took earlier.

But sometimes feeling big feels also makes you feel a little bad when your friends mean well?

We've got a LOT to look forward to and I am, it was just a little like being yanked around with my emotions? All at once. I've been feeling a lot about it and I know you have too, without there being much any of us can do other than hope it turns out the way they say it does.

Your friends also know sometimes emotions suck. You're still human, babe. They're not going to hold that against you.

I get that. I love it here, I love our life and the lives our friends have, but it doesn't change we're basically going from one crazy thing to another. That's hard shit to live with. If you're feeling a way about it, you're feeling a way about it. Even if you know it's going to swing back around it doesn't mean you can't wallow for a bit, or feel bad about stuff. I don't need, or want, you to pretend everything's okay if you're not feeling okay.

Well. Kinda human. Human-ish.

We have so much to do on a regular basis that it's hard not to just keep pushing it down. Giving it a focus makes it feel like it's winning.

Human adjacent?

Okay but... not giving it the space it needs and time to properly heal means you're going to always be stuck in some weird negative emotion space and that's letting it win more. Shiro's right with the word grieving. It's hard and it hurts like hell but not letting yourself grieve will make it worse in the long run, will make it harder to enjoy what you do have. Then it really wins.

Okay say you're right (because you're smart and hot)---

I don't know how to do that? Or ever have? Father always taught me not to let the emotions get the better of me, so I work on THAT really hard and most of the time it's fine, one step at a time.

Keep going ;)

I think maybe it's a balance? Finding that sweet spot between letting yourself feel what you're feeling and dealing with it and not getting lost in it all or turning it all off. Which isn't easy, I struggle with it too.
