The smell has to be the worst part of cleaning up after a flood. I thought I'd gone noseblind to it years ago, but apparently I took enough of a break that a swamp smells like a damned swamp again.

I'm nearly done with clearing the seaweed and flotsam out of my house. How are the rest of you faring?

Expect a proper community post from Thor after we're done in the town square, and of course he offers his assistance to any of you who need a hand cleaning up in your homes.

I have books, when you get time. I currently have them spread out to dry as best they can, but my suspicion is I'll have to write them all off as a loss.

That was definitely not something factored into the design. The walls are just fine but the large size of those rooms make for some echoes.

Mortals have a way of wanting to thank their saviours, even if it's incidental saving and not out of your way. You just have to accept that with a 'Thank you, mortal,' before moving on. Otherwise they'll start sacrificing things to you.

Much as I am: he doesn't like it, but he's managing. At least with the magic around here, flood recovery will go much faster than it did in the world I came from.

This is pretty on par for Asgard and New Asgard of my universe. Witches assist, but most of it usually done by those of us capable. It's a quick recovery since enemy attacks are not out of the ordinary.

Usually there's less fish though.

I never thought preferring a house without dead fish in it made me fastidious, but I suppose everything is a matter of perspective.

I just weighed what remains of my dignity against how much I like not smelling dead fish, and dignity wins for now. Thanks for the offer.
