After a few delays and false starts, I finally went through with it and bought a houseboat! I’ll be slowly moving my things from my apartment onto the boat over the next few days. I’ve missed living on the water so much!

Now I just need a name. I was thinking “Remember Yesterday” or “Still Waters”

I don’t know, though. I’m not very good at naming things.

Private Message to Edwin Courcey

If you are up for it, I would like to have you over for dinner on my new boat.

Private Message to Briar Moss

Hello, Briar! Would you like to come see my new boat?

I suppose I could manage that. It's not as though I have a robust social calendar.

When?

Thank you, Edwin.

I am in the process of moving my belongings from my apartment. There are a couple of creatures hanging around the harbor that may make the process take a little longer than I'd like, but I should be done by the end of the week.

Ah. My robust social calendar does, in fact, have one engagement on it scheduled for Saturday, but I think I should be able to make just about any other night work.

I suppose that helping you move is the sort of thing that friends normally do?

Oh really? I'm very glad to hear that. Would either Thursday or Friday work? I should be mostly moved in by then.

Generally speaking, yes. Are you offering to help me?

Yes, I think I can make either of those days work.

If you need it, yes. It's... not something I have much experience in, but I suppose it can't be so difficult.

Fantastic! Let's aim for Friday then?

One of the benefits of being able to sprout any body part I any place I wish is that moving items isn't too much of a hassle. But, I wouldn't mind it if you came to supervise.

Truth be told, however, there is something here at the harbor that doesn't appear to like me very much. I've been splashed once and had sea weed chucked at me.

Friday will work.

Then I will do so. I hope that whatever it is won't cause you any greater trouble.

Good! I look forward to having you aboard.

I don't think it will. I squished it.

I suppose that's one way to handle the problem. Do you know what it was?

I didn't really take the time to study it before hand. I also didn't want to give it the opportunity to hit me again.

No, you wouldn't want that.

I hope that nothing else will give you much trouble.

Congratulations. I've always thought that house boats seemed a fine idea.

I'm fond of Still Waters myself.

Thank you! I've wanted to do this for a while now and finally found one that I fell in love with!

I was leaning towards Still Waters, but was curious what other people might suggest.

When I was a boy I'd sometimes thought of retiring to a houseboat, but for me that had only every been a childhood fancy.

Do you have cause for choosing either one of the names, or do you simply like the sound of them? You need not answer, of course, if it's personal.

That's a shame. You should never have to give up on your dreams.

They were the first two names that came to mind. If I think about it, I guess each of them have a deeper meaning, but truthfully, I just liked how each of them sounded.

It wasn't one I was pursued with especial keenness. I think living the life of a fulfilled it and more.

Then I'm sure whichever you choose will be the correct choice.

I see. As long as you are were you want to be.

I think I may go with Still Waters. It sounds a bit more hopeful, I think.

I think so too. A little more optimistic, or perhaps more tranquil.

Temeraire is an excellent name for a ship. Although it has already been used, and I think there is a rule about not naming more than one the same.

That is a very elegant name. Sailing and seafaring is a huge part of life in the world I come from. I haven't heard of any folktales or legends about naming two ships the same name. However, I've never actually come across two ships with the same name.

I do not think there is a ship in Vallo named the Temeraire, and so I'm sure it does not apply.

Perhaps you'll have a ship named for you here someday.

To an extent. Houseboats aren't meant to be taken out on the open water, which is a shame, really. I miss being out on the open water. Not that I could get very far from the island anyway, so this will be prefect for the time being.
