I was told that I did not pass a "vibe check" today as I gave my advanced students a pop quiz. As they take said quiz, I have decided to take this as the compliment that I have to assume it was not meant to be.

I am a cruel and heartless educator, though the purpose was also to give opportunity for some additional credit for those that needed it to up their marks before finals.

Those that are truly struggling will get assistance outside of something like this, but these are my more advanced students that are already of a higher, more specialized level. I do not like giving extra credit to them as most of them do not need it, but it allows those hovering between letter grades an added push.

Also there is always room for a bit more practice when studying higher level magic, in my opinion. I am, however, what you would call a nerd.

I have been thinking forward to fall, largely because I wanted to consider lesson plans and the like, just to be fully prepared. My thinking led me to wondering if I may not let you inspire me and perhaps I go a different path? I had not intended on teaching long-term as I had not expected to enjoy it as I do, but I know that my forte lies within research and I do far less of it while I am on a teaching schedule.

All that to say, my thoughts being that I resign at the end of the year and focus my attention at home, between the children, the lab, and other endeavors. It would be an end to that particular form of income, but I did not think that to be a true problem for us.

This was specifically my group of advanced Chronurgy students, so this was specifically regarding the manipulation of time and probability and several theories rooted in science that walk alongside the magic of the subject.
