All right, I believe I've got it: Halloween is a popular holiday that pokes fun at the concept of death, supernatural, and the afterlife. There's candy, community gatherings, and a bit of mystery (what with the masks and costumes), but ultimately the whole thing celebrates the return to shorter days, colder weather, and the quiet sleep of winter.
Yes? That's it, isn't it? I've done a bit of studying and poking about on the topic. We didn't have anything quite like it at home, at least, not openly. The Divine Order wouldn't appreciate any such frivolity surrounding anything like death, oh no. But I quite like that Vallo has such holidays! I love any excuse for a celebration and a new outfit. :)
