Does everyone hear animals speaking words today, or is it just me? A bird just yelled "back the fuck up, motherfucker!" at me when I got too close to its nest, an alley cat rubbed against my ankle and said "I own you" right to my face, and I'm not getting into the disaster that was fishing this morning.

Good luck with the fish and the birds and - well, I imagine a lot of animals aren't going to think many friendly things at people. Or maybe you just got stuck with particularly bitter animals.

They seem like they're saying more or less what I would expect animals to say. Nothing particularly intelligent, just generally focused on food, territory, and mating to various degrees. Seagulls are the worst so far.

That doesn't surprise me at all, about the seagulls. They've always seemed very focused on food specifically. Or at least it feels that way when they swoop in for a dive bomb, trying to snatch something from your hand.

They're out there shrieking "MINE!" as they snatch food from each other. Now I know where rich people get their personalities.

That's actually a very accurate comparison. Just shrieking MINE as they constantly snatch from each other, in a cycle.

If you see Alligator Loki, can you let me know what he says? I'm sort of fluent in the chuffs and grunts but hearing his actual thoughts might be a whole other thing.

Yep. He has a little pool he's in, mainly, but I'll probably take him with me to sun while I jetski, now that the weather's getting warmer.
