Hearing all this talk about witch covens and ceremonies and schools gave me a slight bit of hope that maybe there was something to look forward to in the werewolf community. But can now officially confirm:

Nope.

It's a hot mess. Because of course it is.

I'm frustrated. There's zero common ground here. There's different kind of werewolves, different kinds of Changes, different attitudes, different views, and no guide book as to what is what. You kind of just have to figure it out, don't forget and don't get yourself killed in the process.

Jesus, that's a lot to keep track of. Do all of them have leaders? Or like, representatives? I'm assuming they've probably tried hashing it out already if they've been around for a while.

Alphas? Yeah, except for the ones who don't have a pack. We'd called them mutts in my world. Some might call them lone wolves.

Is that like an anti-establishment thing or do you think they'd be open to the idea of starting a pack with you?

People who don't join a pack usually have a reason. They don't like the hierarchy or the idea of taking orders. Maybe they don't like specific laws, or just don't trust the people in the pack. They're typically not the kind of people you want to round up to form a whole new pack. You might be able to convince some to join a pack for various reasons, but that's a whole lot of wooing and coaxing.

So basically, it's a giant headache for you either way. Fun.

I'm sorry, Kate. This sucks. Is there anything we can do?

It was a headache back in my world. I haven't settled on the best description of the politics in this place but it's way past headache.

Not really, not getting involved is the best idea.

How did you guys handle it in your world?

That I can handle as long as they're not messing with you.

Packs were much further apart. Only one per country or sometimes continent. Each pack delt with mutts in their own way. Dealing with other packs was easier when you each have your own country, and you're each the same kind or werewolf. It still had its headaches, but it was more manageable than this.

Even if they were.
