Turns out even when you vehemently say you do not wish something because you were in heated yet interesting debate with a client and should've been watching what words you used thanks to recent events, someone or something might still take it as a challenge.

Who deals blood around here?

What happened?

I think I opened my mouth and said something that got me in trouble again. In my defense, the whole "be careful what you wish or don't wish" thing being fairly literal is still new.

I've had some not-so-great experiences with wishes - believe me, I get it. It's not an easy word to scrub from your vocabulary.

What can I do?

Especially one so innocuous. I swear it's in half the books on Willa's bookshelf with all the princesses, dragons, wizards, and such. If this is the doing of a fairy godperson, they truly are something else.

I will admit to asking myself the same question. Kind of woke up, went 'well shit', and then been stumbling around ever since.

I know what you mean. Fairytales are absolutely chock full of innocuous wishes. It's not usually a problem, but it's hard to work around when situations like this arise. My particular issue was with a genie, and it was not great. You have to be very specific with your wording.

I can come over and lend some moral support? Or, if it's better, we can go out and keep you distracted. Willa, too, of course.

I hate to admit this but my knowledge of genies begins and end with the blue guy voiced by Robin Williams. I do understand that last part though. It's like testifying and being questioned by the defense's attorney. Wording matters.

Willa's gonna spend the night with a friend for the sake of being safe. Just to see how it goes. I don't want to accidentally put someone in harm's way overestimating myself so tonight might be a loner. Maybe tomorrow morning? I can make us some breakfast?

That was exactly the knowledge my sisters and I had when we had our first run-in with one. You're exactly right, though, Marshal. Wording matters.

Tomorrow morning sounds great. If you start feeling lonely, you can always give me a call.

I feel like that's in the worse because at least we got a general idea with this here. That situation it's like going in blind.

I just might do that. Maybe we can watch a movie together long distance.

I honestly do not know how to answer that. I mean I figure my choices come down to animal or human but hell, I raise the dead but I never been one of 'em.

I'm not sure if the like minotaurs and trolls and stuff count as human or what? Maybe humanoid? But it looks like others have the blood banks covered.

Looking at that as a possibility but now I'm going to be thinking about distinctions. Troll and the minotaur might be close. Maybe. Getting close to the troll might kill an appetite though

which might be something to keep in mind.

Oh, Raylan, I'm so sorry! I'll point Doc your way, I bet he can help with the blood thing. I could maybe turn you back, but I don't want to risk messing with whatever magic's doing this to you.

Want me to come over and get Willa? She and Alice can have a playdate.

You have my deep gratitude for even offering but I figure this is one of those things Vallo likes doing to us for entertainment. Suppose I need a little guidance to make it through the next week or so, however long this takes to wear off.

As much as I would never harm one hair on her head, maybe that is for the best. If it isn't imposing too much, would it be possible to take our dog as well? If not, that is absolutely fine. It is asking a lot.

Wish Vallo could entertain itself in less ridiculous ways, but I guess this is better than some of the stuff I've heard about. I think Doc's totally your guy, given how long he was vamped himself. I'm sure he'll lend a hand.

Of course! Both of them are totally welcome to hang out as long as you think is best. I know you obviously wouldn't do anything to hurt her, but those kinds of instincts take a while to adjust to - probably the fewer distractions the better.

I tell myself it could be worse 'cause I'm still upright on two feet and I at least got an idea from home what I might be dealing with. At least I'm not the guy that turned out super tiny or something like that. I'm going to have to talk to Doc though, ask him a few questions. Vampire Yoda.

You got it right. That's the part that worries me. I know she adores hanging out with you all so it'll be business as usual there at least.

Best way to look at it! I'm sure it could be waaaaay worse. If this was Purgatory, it probably would be. I didn't hear about the super tiny guy, but I did hear about the super giant guy. Not sure really which is worse??

Awww!! We adore having her, she's such a good girl. And having a playmate is really good for Alice. I think it's helping her adjust quicker now that she's here with us instead of back home with Gus.

Maybe the super giant guy was the one I was thinking of, not tiny. When things start happening around here, you get the occasional mix up on information trying to keep it all straight. I figure both have their drawbacks but being tiny, you got that risk of being stepped on.

She's lovin' having Alice around. Of course I'm glad Alice is around now for all of you. I know Wynonna and Doc were missing her something fierce.

I can't believe I'm saying what amounts to giving permission but laughing hysterically would be the way to go. Hungry and horny as advertised but no danger to anyone.

I ever tell you that back where I come from, necromancers and vamps don't like each other? Few centuries on that ongoing feud so I suppose that makes it a little more amusing.

Yeah, think I'm gonna need some help. Doesn't seem as easy as Hollywood makes it out to be. I didn't wake up with innate martial arts skills either.

It was fortunate because I woke up in the sun. Would have been one quickly unlife. Don't have a reflection right now though. Willa's been giggling all morning because I keep making things float in 'em.

Also wouldn't be the first chuck I've hunted. Caught a nice fat one when I was sixteen, my mother made a good stew out of it.

Reckon I should've guessed that about you. Not that specifically, of course, just the hunting thing. About the only hunting I ever did was finding a parking spot at the grocery store.

Never for sport, always for food. Money would get tight and the hollers could get creative. It translated well over to being a marshal and tracking fugitives. The hunting part, I mean.
