Good afternoon,

I've come to understand that this is the best way to communicate with others here. Though given some of the confusion I've seen thus far, I'm not quite convinced that a quill and ink still isn't the superior option.

My name is Simon Basset, and I'm a new arrival here.

Mr Basset is fine, thank you. My title means nothing here, and to continue to hold onto such things seems unnecessary.

It's a pleasure, Miss Carter. I do know the Bridgertons, yes. Anthony has been a good friend for many years, and Daphne is my wife.

Very well, Mr. Bassett. Pleased to meet you.

Oh, how wonderful. I've had the chance to get to know Anthony since he's arrived. I've enjoyed his company.

He can be marginally charming when he chooses, I suppose.

"Marginally charming" is an apt turn of phrase.
