Good afternoon,

I've come to understand that this is the best way to communicate with others here. Though given some of the confusion I've seen thus far, I'm not quite convinced that a quill and ink still isn't the superior option.

My name is Simon Basset, and I'm a new arrival here.

As popular as texting is in my time, I agree with you about a good old-fashioned letter. It seems much more personal.

A quick tongue is trouble enough. I can only imagine how the ability to send whatever happens across your mind out at any given moment can cause problems.

You're absolutely right. Also, sometimes, things can get sent to the wrong person and it can get very awkward.

I imagine it must. Do you speak from experience there?

Unfortunately, yes. I once accidentally busted my sister to my mother for skipping our family dinner.

Not super high stakes, but my mother also takes family dinner very seriously.

I am well acquainted with frighteningly determined mothers.

Well, then I absolutely feel your pain.

Malcolm Bright.
