In my opinion, there are few things more beautiful than seeing stars being born. This is a lovely photograph of it, though nothing beats seeing it with your own two eyes. I think I need to take a trip to see this.

I think that might be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!

I'll have to write a poem to it, using the same sort of pinks and purpleblues in the star.

Poetry is certainly one way to record the beauty of the universe.

It's how I record all the beauty in the universe! One manages to find it everywhere, doesn't one?

Yes, one does! I have seen the best and the worst of the universe, but there is always beauty to be found. There is always good that outweighs the bad.

I think you'll probably get there a little late.

Not necessarily. I have a spaceship that can also travel through time. I can get there whenever I want to and not miss a single thing.

You have a time travelling spaceship?

I'd say I've now heard everything but something tells me that's not even remotely true.

That depends entirely on what you choose to believe. My TARDIS is indeed real. I can travel anywhere in time and space. But I suppose if you have not caught the dreaming epidemic that's here, you would not quite understand.

I'm acquainted with the whole dream thing. So you've decided to use this time travelling space ship for things like watching some star being born nearly 3000 years ago instead of world peace or something?

[info]againsthugging

I do both, actually. I've defended the Earth from multiple invasions in my dreams. I like seeing the universe and discovering new species and planets and stars. Not all of them are friendly. But world peace, that I cannot do. There are things that I cannot change or tamper with because it will cause time to fracture and everything will breakdown and the universe will end. I've done that, it wasn't a pleasant experience, so I try to only poke the things that I can change. Mostly.

That sounds... way more complicated than I'd be interested in. How are you supposed to know what you can and cannot change?

Glad the spaceships in my dreams can't travel through time. ... or space for that matter.

It's part of being a Time Lord. I can see all of time and intrinsically know what can and cannot be changed. It's a burden more often than not, such as when I was in Pompeii the day the volcano erupted and buried it.

Believe me, the universe is a far simpler place when various races cannot travel amongst the stars.

That job sounds like it sucks.

No doubt. Things are complicated enough with just humans.

It does from time to time, yes.

Indeed they are. And humans in my dreams tend to create plenty of problems once they start traveling the universe and meet other cultures and species. It can be a rather chaotic chain of events.

Yeah. Speaking of things that suck, humans are right up there. Can't take them anywhere without them killing each other.

It is a tricky question. Though I suppose your TARDIS did conceal mine once, so perhaps its feasible we can take both and yet still be in the same TARDIS?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]alwaysbeenthere

That it has. So I think it's doable to take both while being in the same TARDIS.

Stars used to be something I thought about only in regards to celebs. Now? I can see what you mean. I wouldn't want to see it closer though. I'm happy enough looking around me here on Earth.

Yes, it can be dangerous if you get too close. However, it is still a beautiful experience. And infinitely better than watching stars die.

Technically aren't all the stars we can see dead already?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]againsthugging
2016-08-02 12:37 am UTC (link)
That depends on the distance the star is from here, and the type of star. But yes, generally speaking the light we see in the night sky is from stars that have already died. It's actually quite fascinating if you think about it. When you look up at the night sky, it's a snap shot of the universe as it existed ages ago. Which is rather mind blowing, wouldn't you agree? To see a snap shot of the past so clearly and in real time, it is like being at any ruin or monument on Earth built millennia ago. We can only marvel at the remnants and dream of the true brilliance it once existed in.

No. Looking up into the face of death doesn't blow my mind at all. I only see ruins when I look at them here, too. In my Dreams, I see all the distant stars I want to see. I see all the otherworldly life I want to see in my mirror every day.

It's not just stars dying, there are also stars and planets being born every moment. Though I understand it is not easy to see the beauty in things. The universe and all the races within it can be a very dark place. And I have walked through the worst of it all in my Dreams and still I am able to find joy in it.

It's rare to see them being born. I think birth is its own miracle although I could have passed forever on being forced to watch The Miracle of Birth in Human Biology class. My Dreams have taught me a lot about the darker side of life, the universe, and everything. I just wish they didn't bleed over so much into this life.

Oh indeed it is. Birth is a very beautiful thing. Well, the product, not the act of it when coming from a human standpoint. I am sorry, the bleed over is difficult to handle sometimes. Especially when it's not positive.

Definitely not positive in my case. I have the scars to prove it. At least you get a great perspective on life from yours. That's pretty awesome, man.

I am sorry. I had to suffer through many, many terrible things, and doing some very terrible things, in order to get that perspective. I also got turned into an alien, but I can't completely complain about that. It just means I'm better able to sort through my Dreams, though I do not quite appreciate all aspects of it.

You were an alien in your Dreams or you're an alien here because of your Dreams?

I'm an alien here because of my Dreams. I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. I managed to stay human until a certain point, then I woke up one day and oh I have two hearts now. Among other things.

I can empathize with that. Not exactly. I don't have two hearts. I did wake up an alien with no skin pigment. Among other things. Castithan by species though I wasn't born on Casti. I was born on Earth. A different one than this one, but I figure you know that much if you're something called a "Time Lord." That definitely sounds more involved than being a freaky sort of albino.

Castithan? I have not heard of such a species before. Though you look like an albino? Fascinating. I've met all sorts of different species. Green skinned, blue skinned, red skinned, some with suckers covering their entire body, so on and so forth. I think all species regardless of how they look are beautiful. Though it sounds as though you are having difficulty adjusting to your new looks?

It is entirely terrifying and horrible. I have seen too many stars and planets die.

I have a ship that can travel through time and space.
