There are those days when my head will not stop pounding once the bell rings.

I was out walking the halls, and stepped back into my room to find two students in it and his hand was up her skirt. Okay, I get it, but NOT in my room. I also have to laugh a little just because I did something like that six years ago when I was in school.

I need a drink.

I've been in that situation myself. Heh. Awkward. As the student, not the teacher.

So have I. I was standing there thinking I was the world's biggest hypocrite. I'm 23, not 50. I feel so old having to be the 'authority figure'.

When the age difference is only a few years, it makes things a little bit awkward.

Very, especially since I am supposed to be one of the cool teachers. Yeah, I'm cool, but not in my room. I still can't quite get over it.

Ah, you're one of the cool teachers? I'm sure that's why they thought they could get away with it.

The irony is seriously killing me. It's a good thing I have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

You MUST be one of the cool teachers, if you're laughing on it.

It's funny. I can't help it. Plus, I'm only 5 years older than they are. I get it.

Wow. Only five years? ...how did you get your teaching credential in five years?

No. Four. I went to UC Irvine right out of high school. In my 4th year of college, I was student teaching, tested during the summer and got hired by the same school.

You must have been driven.

That's all it takes. Major in history, minor in education. It's only a 4 year program if it's done right. I didn't want to spend more time at school than necessary.

School is expensive. SO I've heard.

True that. Our family has money, so it wasn't that bad.

Good on you. I've never had much in that department.
