Belle had both the kids in a stroller, and they were happily babbling in a mixture of Creole and English, while Belle smiled and greeted people in French. She was happy to be back in one of the cities she loved, even if it wasn't her home. And seeing the palace again was worth leaving her weapons behind.

The girl became quite excited when she saw the palace, her eyes going wide as she stared. The boy, who had been grumpy all day, continued to be grumpy. Taking what little enthusiasm she could get, Belle smiled and led the kids up to the security check point, trying not to look too guilty.

Who'd have thought that a former assassin would ever be invited to bring her kids to play with the leader of a country? She sincerely hoped this went well, since Philippe seemed a little lonely.

"Bonjour!" She said cheerfully to the guards, telling them who she was and why she was there.

	"Yes, please," she smiled. "I'm sure it'll help everyone's disposition t' be out in the sunshine. Marcus is a little freaked out from the portkey." She stroked Angela's hair as the girl chirped happily in Creole. She was looking at Philippe with wide eyes, even as Marcus hummed happily with his candy in his mouth. 	"What language is she speaking?" Philippe asked as he held Marcus and led the way outside into the sun in the back yard. 	"Oh, Creole. It, uh, barely exists in your time, if you're from when I think y' are. S' bastardized French, 'n' my first language. She's been hearin' people speain' French for the past hour or so, so I guess she's decided not t' use English." She set Angela down next to the pool, taking off the girl's shoes. Marcus squealed and laughed, wiggling way. He wandered over to his sister, who was poking at the water.

"Not really. He understands what we're sayin', but he doesn't actually speak it. He's got some kinda automatic translator in his ear, so he doesn't know someone's not speakin' English unless he sees their lips movin'."

Which is a little weird, but nothing by their standards, really.

	She tilted her head. "That's kinda freaky. It took me a while t' learn English. Didn't start learnin' 'til I was ten. Do you still speak French?" She hoped so. She chuckled. "Well, at least there's dat. You're handlin' the whole thing well, really. Though I guess things have only gotten easier for you, since you're not de sole ruler anymore."

The kids were wading into the water, pushing and fighting. Belle kept an eye on them, but didn't think that it would be necessary to stop them from having fun.

"What do y' think of the future?"

"Well, I was never really a sole ruler. I had a lot of advisors whom I deferred to and such but yeah. It's... different, certainly." He seemed thoughtful, watching the children, splashing at them a little with a smile. "I think I can get used to it. My mother and father are both here... and were finally able to marry. Aramis and Athos, two of my musketeers, are here and happy..."

Philippe smiled for a moment though it fell. "I only hope those back in my time are doing alright."

Belle nodded, touching his shoulder gently. "I was pulled from my time too. Guild leader. Was able t' put a rivalry t' rest dat'd been started well before your parents were born, 'n' I'm from two centuries in the future. I know how dat feels, even if my job was smaller. Can only hope my loved ones make it through okay."

She looked thoughtful, for a moment. "But none of the past makes the present any less important or worthy."

"Thanks. They're smart,too. I'm constantly surprised athow much they soak up. I mean, beside knowin' two languages they already seem t' know a lot more about people 'n' the world than some adults do. It's amazing."

She smiled widely, watching as Marcus chase Angela around. "The whole world looks different when you've got kids. Hell, even bein' married changes how you look at things."

For a moment she was quiet, and then she turned back to Philippe. "You'll have your chance a it. You're a good man."
