Current mood: bouncy
Entry tags:belladonna rogan, philippe

Who: Belle, Philippe, and the babies
Where: Élysée Palace
When: early in the afternoon
Rating: low

Belle had both the kids in a stroller, and they were happily babbling in a mixture of Creole and English, while Belle smiled and greeted people in French. She was happy to be back in one of the cities she loved, even if it wasn't her home. And seeing the palace again was worth leaving her weapons behind.

The girl became quite excited when she saw the palace, her eyes going wide as she stared. The boy, who had been grumpy all day, continued to be grumpy. Taking what little enthusiasm she could get, Belle smiled and led the kids up to the security check point, trying not to look too guilty.

Who'd have thought that a former assassin would ever be invited to bring her kids to play with the leader of a country? She sincerely hoped this went well, since Philippe seemed a little lonely.

"Bonjour!" She said cheerfully to the guards, telling them who she was and why she was there.

"I hope so. It's apparently very important for a President to know how to use it in case someone needs to get a hold of me." Philippe commented.

Belle nodded. "It's pretty easy to just answer and make calls. Have you got that much figured out?"

"Yes. For the most part, anyway." He replied, nodding and smiling a little.

"I used t' have one, when they first came out. It was like carryin' three bricks, had it's own purse 'n' everything."

"Really? That sounds... inconvenient." He commented with a soft laugh.

She snickered. "I left it at home as much as possible. But now. . .my calendar, all my knitting circle stuff, Alex's hours, most of the important information I need is all on a tiny thing I can also use t' call people with."

Technology was amazing.

"You knit?" Philippe perked up a bit. "That's neat. I've always wanted to be able to make things but my advisors said it wasn't appropriate for a man to be doing a woman's work." He just shrugged a bit.

She made a face. "France is a lovely country, but it's sometimes too entrenched in its traditions."

The conversation was interrupted when Angela fell, landing on her back and head in the pool. Belle stood, using her powers to lift the little girl up, relieved by the child's cries which were loud and unhappy. At least she was okay.

Philippe was started when the child was lifted without touching her. "How on earth...did you do that?"

Belle blinked and cursed. "Uh? It's. . ."

Oh, hell.

"It's just somethin' I picked up as a girl."

Okay, so things were a lot more complicated than that. It was the basic truth.

"You...can use magic? Are you a witch?" Philippe was absolutely dumbfounded. "Do it again?"

"Um, not really. I can just move stuff."

And read people's minds, but heaven forbid anyone know that. His request made her blink, and she nodded, bringing the crying child to her arms, smoothing her hand over the girl's head.

"Wow." He breathed, seeming fascinated, even as Marcus wandered back over to him.

Marcus was, after all, just as much an attention whore as his sister. He climbed willfully into Philippe's lap, not seeming to care a bit about what was going on.

"It's pretty useful. There are some people from my world who can do it naturally, but I had t' take a magic potion t' be able to do it."

"Hm." Nodding a little, he hugged Marcus gently. "So it's common, where you're from?"

"There are a lot of people that have powers, and my entire Guild had 'em, though usually not naturally."

"Weird." Philippe smiled though and glanced down at the little boy in his lap. "So to the twins have powers too? Or...is it not something that's passed down?"

"I don't think so. My husband doesn't have powers, and mine aren't the kind that get passed down."

She doesn't terribly mind. "There's still a chance, though. Won't know until they're older."

Marcus yawned and snuggled against Philippe, getting him wetter than he was already. Angela was back in the water, playing close to the adults.

"Hm." Philippe nodded and smiled, not minding getting wet as he cuddled the little boy. "He's so adorable." The young man murmured.

She smiled softly. It was somewhat amazing how easily the kids trusted strangers. The little boy was perfectly content to be curled up in Philippe's arms. "They're amazin'. I'm truly blessed."

"So. If you ever need help babysitting or anything just...let me know alright? I'd love to take them to the park, or to the zoo... especially when they get older!" Philippe smiled widely.

She beamed. "Hee! That'd be greatly appreciated. I love 'em, but there are things I miss about non-parental life. Like gettin' a full night's sleep. You sure you'll be alright with 'em? People are gonna talk if you're hangin' out with some married American woman's kids."

"People can talk, I don't mind. I'd love to look after them. They could even spend the night! Movies and such." He touched Marcus' fuzzy head.

"Maybe. We'll see how a trip t' the zoo goes."

She scanned him, quickly then, ever watchful for anyone who meant her children harm. Telepathy is a wonderful gift.

(Is that cool? Or should I retag? I don't want to god mod.)

Philippe had completely innocent thoughts. He was excited about it all, happy to help and to be around children.

(Totally cool.)
