Who Chris, Toby and Holly!
What HOLLY. WHAT?! (Holly is Beecher's daughter, for those of you playing along in the audience)
Where Beecher's place
When Tuesday evening
Warning Flailing. Man Flailing. Two men, flailing together. Can you handle it? Oh, and man sex. Boy howdy.

Chris had been a bit worried when Toby had suddenly just said he'd call him back, and he stood in the hall of his house in Chicago, waiting as Pongo rubbed against his legs, pawed at his feet and jumped about like a dog happy to see his master tended to do. When Chris got a reply from someone calling Toby 'Dad', he near dropped his phone, too. Holly. Holly was here. Holly was there and Toby had to be shitting himself. Chris had been telling the truth (for once) when, in the fight they had, he had said he wanted Toby happy. The man had to be ecstatic. Though...Holly said Toby was being sick. Well, Chris might have been sick, too, if his kid showed up. Not that he had one.

Grabbing Pongo's leash and his toys and the like, Chris put his bag over his shoulder and took the dog with him as he headed out-That was his reason for being there in the first place-getting to the portkey and back to Toby's in less then twenty minutes. Jogging up to the door, Pongo at his heels, Chris rang the doorbell, smiling with his excitement. Hey, he wanted to meet Toby's kid, what could he say?

There was indistinct shouting from in the house, before the door opened, a small blonde figure glancing from Chris, to the dog, and back.

"Um. Hi." Her voice seemed to draw Pongo's attention away from whatever was in the bush that had him distracted, and he leapt back onto the porch to sniff at her, getting a bit of a wary glance from Holly before she laughed as he licked her.

"Nice dog, Mister!" Her Dad had said to be expecting a man with a dog, and that he just had a little bit of food poisoning, so she waited somewhat patiently for one or the other to get back. She wished it would have been her dad, first- she'd been gone a whole week- but this guy could be fun. The man had a dog, after all, and dogs were widely accepted as cool by the 'four-foot-and-under' crowd.

Speaking of, she was currently doing something resembling wrestling with Pongo, and Chris would have to speak to get her attention again. Because really, 'dog' trumed 'dad's friend' on Holly's priority scale.

"Hey," Chris was sort of speechless, looking at the girl, not moving his gaze away when Pongo came up, but he laughed a bit when she called him 'Mister', watching her with Pongo for a moment, glancing behind her to see if Toby was around before crotching down beside her and the dog.

"Hey, I'm Chris," He introduced himself, "And this is Pongo," The dog looked to Chris as he heard his name and gave the man's cheek a lick before the little girl proved more interesting yet again, "Your dad still...being sick?"

She was busy scratching Pongo's ears, giggling as she got licked, before realizing she was being rude, and not wanting her dad to be sad at her. "I'm Holly, but you said that. Um, Dad's... I dunno. I think he went to his room to get some medicine or something."

After a second, she stepped back into the house, watching Chris and the dog all the while. "I can go get him, if you want?" She wasn't sure if she was supposed to invite him in or not, but figured he'd follow her if he was supposed to, allowed to.

"Yeah, that would be good. He's expecting me," Chris couldn't stop his big grin from growing-Toby was right about Holly, she was a little cutie. Pongo gave a bark at not being paid attention to anymore, and Chris looked down at him, "Hey, sit," Pongo did just that and chris looked back at Holly, "Go get your dad, and we'll wait here," Best to play nicely. She seemed kind of frightened of him, so Chris would stay where he was. He imagined Toby would like that.

"Okay," She didn't quite shut the door on him, but she shoved it a little closed to get up the stairs, calling out for Toby as she did so.

A couple minutes later, Toby showed up at the door, looking a little green around the edges. Brows furrowed as he spotted Chris on the stoop. "Hey- what're you doing outside?" Pongo trotted in when he saw Toby, getting a scratch behind the ears for his efforts. Holly was less-than-subtly watching the scene from the top of the steps, but Toby either didn't notice or didn't care as he went on.

"And here, I was just getting used to being back to myself. It's always something," Still, he couldn't keep the grin off his face, which had been there pretty much from the time Holly showed up at the door.

Chris waited, Pongo edging forward to try and go in but he tugged at the leash lightly, "Wait for it," He muttered, the dog just sitting back down with a huff. Chris felt the same.

When Toby showed up, Chris had a big grin for him, "You look a bit sick there, Toby," He pointed out before shrugging, "Hey, Holly answered the door, didn't seem to know me. Stranger danger, Beecher, come on," He put his hand on Toby's arm, patting him as he walked in behind Pongo.

"Cute kid, though. So, you okay?" He kept his hand on Toby's arm, thumb stroking against the skin lightly, just trying to be comfort. The guy looked like he was going to be sick again, but happy, so Chris wanted to try and wain off the sick part.

Toby nodded, leading them down the hall after catching sight of the blonde braid hanging over the step. She wouldn't be that obvious about listening in, he knew.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just... shock, y'know? I- I was expecting to have an hour or so to deal with the reality of being a dad again, but she stumbles in, hungry, going on about the trip she took with some girl I supposedly know-" He showed them in to the kitchen, where the remnants of grilled cheese and milk lunch were still scattered over the counter.

"Her memories are... off. I don't think she remembers... any of it." What happened to her mom, her brother, the kidnapping... the relief at that alone was enough to get him a bit sick. He reached into the fridge to pull out a beer- in truth, he wanted something harder, but even the thought of really drinking around his daughter- with only Chris as his back up- scared the shit out of him.

Following along, Chris nodded a bit with the man's words, his hand brushing against Toby's back, just trying to remain in contact to try and soothe the man over all this.

"Shit," Chris said, then held up a hand to stop what he knew was coming, "I know, I know, little ears," He commented, having been trying to tone down his language anyway. Not counting the twins of that House guy he had talked with when he first arrived. But he had just woken from the dead. He thought he had reason.

Watching the man take out a beer, Chris moved to grab himself one as well before putting his hand on Toby's back and rubbing it lightly, "It's okay, though, yeah? She's fine. You're fine."

"Yeah, I- don't get em wrong, I'm... she's here," The tone in hsi voice expressed his happiness better than he could, "But- I don't really think I'm in any condition to.. be a father yet, you know?" He sighed, leaning back on the counter and then into Chris a little, taking another drink.

"Fuck, man," He said it soft enough that he was pretty sure Holly wouldn't hear him, even if listening. But considering he felt like screaming, for whatever reason, keeping himself to a whisper was concession enough.

Chris' hand rubbed at Toby's back then up to his neck then down again, his head bending to talk into the man's ear, voice soft, "I know, baby, I know, but I think you can do it. You deal with me, don't you?" He teased, still smiling broadly, "Come on. You can do this. I'll help whatever way I can," And he was sincere in that, thinking the man would want his help. Funny, if he thought about it.

Toby had to blink a little to... digest the idea of Chris helping him with Holly, but he wouldn't dare say that out loud, instead choosing to nod. "I know, Chris. Thanks, for that. She'll warm up to you." He turned to grin at Chris, leaning up to place a soft kiss on Chris' lips, "Stranger danger, right?" The grin grew, before he heard a plate hit the ground and a quick retreat, followed by a whuff from Pongo.

"Great," he muttered, stepping back and heading down the hall in search of Holly. She was found in the den, curled up on one end of the couch with Pongo sniffing at her, acting as if she'd always been there. Perhaps it really had just been the mutt.

"Hey, hun. Sorry, we had to catch up," She nodded, before turning her attention back to the TV, not really interested in her dad or his 'friend'.

Laughing and leaning into the soft kiss with a smug air, Chris nodded, "Stranger danger," He shook his head a bit before he glanced over at the noise, scowling a bit. Great, indeed.

Chris followed after Toby, looking slightly concerned for how Holly was reacting as he leaned in the door way, "Me and your dad go way back," He added, trying to be helpful as he put his hands in his pockets, watching Pongo try to jump up on the couch with Holly, giving a low whistle to make the dog look up, and Pongo seemed to get the idea, laying down with a huff at Holly's feet on the floor.

Seeing Holly wasn't going to react to Chris, Toby winced a little, moving to sit down on the other end of the couch. "So what do you wanna do tonight, sweetheart?" That got her to glance back, sparing a momentary look to Chris.

"You're not spending the night with your friend?" Toby smiled a little, and shrugged. "Chris is going to be staying with us for a while. I thought the three of us could do something together. Dinner or something," Her eyebrow rose at that, the skeptical look her father had given Chris a million times, but she nodded. "Okay. Can I finish watching my movie now?" Chuckling, Toby nodded, smiling at Chris before glancing at the TV. Maybe he could juggle this. If only it could stay this simple.

So the kid didn't like him yet. Chris could deal with that. and he wouldn't feel put out. No, he wouldn't. A little disappointed, maybe, but kids were picky. Right? Why the Hell did he care anyway? He stood up a bit, shaking his head a little but otherwise just watching the exchange.

When she said she wanted to watch her movie, Chris could get that, and thought maybe Toby would get up and leave her to it, then the man was looking at the TV and Chris just rolled his eyes and cleared his throat before heading back to the kitchen and his beer. He could deal with the man having time with his kid, after all. She totally knew about them, Chris decided when he got into the kitchen, bending to pick up the plate that had made the noise and taking it to the sink. Odd little domestic moment for Chris Keller, psycho killer.

It was a few minutes later, before Toby walked back into the kitchen, smiling all the while, moving back to pick up his beer.

"For the record, we used to play basketball together. I ran into you the other day at the store, and you're staying here until you find a house in town for a job." A beat, "She thinks we're 'dating'. Apparently the other version of me did this a lot. She's confused because you're a guy, but.. she'll warm up to you," Maybe if he kept saying it, he'd believe it.

"Yeah?" Chris nodded, shrugging his shoulders as he took a sip of beer, "I'm sure she will, too," Maybe if they both said it...

"So, you want me gone or what?" He waited a minute to ask it, looking like he didn't care either way as he glanced at Toby-Hey, if he had to find a house in town for a job or whatever, or pretend to, he might as well just go and live in his house in Chicago and visit. Let Toby have time with his kid or whatever. He wasn't going to stand in the kitchen all the time, after all.

"What? No,"He answered without thinking- which was good and bad. Good, because it was the truth; he didn't want to have to choose between Chris and his daughter. He didn't have delusions of domestic bliss, but at least getting the three of them under the same roof... it might be nice.

On the other hand, Chris hadn't signed on for kids. And while he was humoring Toby, it seemed, by playing nice with Holly, that didn't necessarily reflect any of Chris' personal opinions. He was too good an actor, for Toby to really take that at face value. "I mean, unless you don't... if you have to leave, I get it," Because when it boiled down to it, he wouldn't abandon Holly for Chris; that would be irresponsible. But he could- would- do pretty much anything short of that, to at least keep the man in his life, if not under his roof.

Smirking at the man's quick answer, Chris felt smug over that as he sipped his beer, "Hey, I'm not going anywhere, I'm just saying, if I gotta pretend to be looking for some house or whatever, I mean, I can just stay in Chicago," Voicing what he was thinking-how novel, "If she's uneasy about me being here, it's not like I want to hang around, right? I want to be with you, Toby, don't get me wrong, and I'll try it out, but if she doesn't like me, she doesn't like me," He could buy her shit or something, try to get her to like him that way. He just needed time. Which he had. So, he was okay with her being a bit distant. For now. He hadn''t signed on for kids, no, but he signed on for Toby, and if this was part of it...Well, damn it, Chris would play nice for a while.

Toby took a drink, seeming to think about that, "Chris, she's a... young-" God, he didn't even know how old she was. He'd have to look into that, "Girl, and you're a large, strange man with a crucifix tattoo'd on your arm. If she wasn't shy around you at first, I'd be worried. She was shy to begin with, just... be patient. And enjoy it," He mused with a little smile, shaking his head a bit.

For all Gen had tried to create a little debutante to go along with her 'idea of a family', the girl had fallen much to the influence of her father and brother, prone to climbing trees and playing with frogs, things like that. She always wanted her brother's-

He realized, abruptly, that this wasn't the holly he knew. She had no brother, no mother. Just him. He felt a wave of sadness over not being there for her- this her, and his Holly- before deciding he would put that towards being a better father now.

"I shouldn't be talking like that- I don't know that girl any better than you do," He sighed, shaking his head.

Just shrugging off the man's words at first, knowing they made sense, knowing he'd have to deal with her like any other kid, he sighed when the man seemed to freeze in his own comfort and he stepped closer, putting his hand on the man's back again, his form of physical comfort that was PG, "Hey, come on, Toby, you'll know her better than I ever will, alright? She may not be the exact Holly you know, but she's still yours, alright? She likes you, she trusts you, okay?" He put his forehead against the other man's, "You're already being a good dad, trying to protect her from me, right?" He nudged the man, trying to get him to smile, "I'm a large, strange man with a crucifix tattoo'd on my arm, after all." There was a reason his wives had loved Chris-He tried to be worth their love for a while. With Toby, he'd be trying longer than with anyone, and he didn't feel like stopping yet-a fact that amazed him and confused him to no end, but now wasn't the time to dwell on it.

And smile he did. Toby scoffed out a laugh before tilting his chin up to kiss Chris gently, briefly, hands settling at the man's waist. "I'm sure she'll grow to love you as much as I do, baby," And he sounded sincere, too- until his smile turned into a smirk, "Well, maybe not as much, but... certain things I'd like to keep to myself," His hand drifted around to grope Chris lightly- once again, hiding his apprehension in a joke.

There was a little coughing noise at the doorway, before Holly skittered inside, making her way to the fridge to grab a juice box, Pongo dutifully following behind her. She parked herself in a chair at the table, watching the pair curiously. Toby turned to face her, but didn't quite move away from Chris, just out of his personal space; if he wanted her to get used to the idea, it was probably a good idea to not appear ashamed, right off the bat.

"Movie over?" She nodded, getting a matching one from her father. "You know what you want for dinner?" She thought about that for a long minute, before smiling- "Sushi!" Toby couldn't help but grin; he hadn't had sushi in years.

"That alright with you?" He directed at Chris, who actually got a little hopeful grin out of Holly- hey, she was seven; she saw nothing wrong with using someone's soft spot for a smile, to get her way. (Sound like someone familiar?)

"Mm, of course," Chris smirked at the grope as well, leaning in when he heard the cough and sighing when Toby moved away. Oh well. Cock blocked by the kid. Fair enough.

He watched the exchange, mentally rolling his eyes over the choice of 'sushi'-yuppy kid, of course, but he smiled at the pair nonetheless, "Hey, I'm up for whatever you two want," He said, nodding just like them. It felt weird, this little all in the family moment, but Chris would go with it.

Toby and Chris had been over, at length, his 'yuppy' lifestyle before Oz. He knew Chris'd either have a field day with it, or get pissed, but he wasn't about to deny Holly something, at least not this soon.

Holly, for her part, giggled and slid off the chair, heading out of the kitchen and...

"Honey, where are you going?" He watched her wander away.

"My room, duh. I have fish to feed, stuff to put away-" He made a bit of a face, but waved her off. "Uh, okay.."

Once she was gone, he turned back to Chris, "She has a room now- the, uh, guest room I had. Looks like you're either stuck with me, or the couch."

Chris had to smile at Holly's attitude. What could he say, there was a bit of Toby in there that he could see and it amused him. He bet it made Toby proud as Hell.

Raising an eyebrow, Chris put his hand on Toby's waist, little ears and eyes gone so he could pull the man back into his space, "Couch is too short, Beecher. Looks like I'm stuck with you," He smirked, leaning in for a short, hot kiss, "Sure the kid won't mind it?" That better get brownie points, Chris thought, his thinking about the kid when offered the chance to share a bed with Toby.

"She's gotta have a betime of, like, nine o'clock. I have a feeling we're going to be staying up a bit later than that," He smiled himself, though, leaning in to give Chris a kiss of his own; he knew the man was trying to play nice with his daughter, and while part of him had to wonder if it was some sort of ploy... the rest did find it endearing.

"Besides, she just giggled when she said we were dating. She's a bright kid, and Gen was the bigoted one to begin with. I think she'll handle it alright."
