On the other hand, Chris hadn't signed on for kids. And while he was humoring Toby, it seemed, by playing nice with Holly, that didn't necessarily reflect any of Chris' personal opinions. He was too good an actor, for Toby to really take that at face value. "I mean, unless you don't... if you have to leave, I get it," Because when it boiled down to it, he wouldn't abandon Holly for Chris; that would be irresponsible. But he could- would- do pretty much anything short of that, to at least keep the man in his life, if not under his roof.
