What: A family outing

Warnings: I swear there will be no sex. They're out in public. With the kid. Swear.

The day was fairly warm, warm enough to enjoy their little adventure to the zoo. But Remy made sure that she bundled Sophie up, and the three of them headed out to the zoo. She wondered if Sophie had ever been to the zoo, what she'd seen and what she hadn't seen. Though she could talk, it wasn't like the kid could really talk about what had gone on in her past. That was for a later time, she supposed.

Getting into the zoo, she hm'd a bit, looking at Tony with a grin before looking down at Sophie in her stroller. The kid could walk, but she was two and they'd have to carry her most of the way without the stroller. "Okay kiddo.. do you want to see the monkey's first? Or the polar bears?" that seemed like a good place to start since they were the first ones you came to depending on which way you walked.

"But puppies make great companions. We can walk the dog together whenever I take her to the park or some of that other parental stuff where you parade your kid around to show yours makes the others look second-rate." Which, isn't surprising Tony would do something like that. His kid was probably a genius like him given her genes, and God knows what she could do. "Or I can make one of the servants do it. Or the limo driver. It's not a matter of life or death."

"The bears, the ones that come up and just squeeze you from like this," and he wrapped his arms around both of them at the same time from behind, growling a mock bear-like growl.

Remy very nearly facepalmed at him. "Second rate? Y'know its' stuff like that that causes kids to snap and start y'know.. doing bad things.." like shooting up your entire school or something. Not that she'd put it like that, at least not in Sophie. "Besides, she's got plenty of time to learn how to be an elitist hanging around you.." sometimes she could swear that he must have had this kid with Amber and not her. And making the servants do it well. She didn't have anything to say to that.

She managed to act surprise when he came and growled up in their ear, but it made Sophie squeal slightly and then start to giggle a whole bunch, and put her arms out so that her Daddy could hold onto her. The damn kid never walked like she was supposed to. Or even rode in the stroller. Remy grinned slightly and shook her head. "Bear hugs? Come on then.." she put her arms around them and squeezed them both.

Tony squeezed them both in return, and he could feel the tiny hug that Sophie had on him, though she tried to hug as tightly as her daddy, it didn't quite work that well. "Now, I'm lear. A bear and lion crossbreed." He gave them one more hug, though when he parted, Sophie clung and went with him in his arms. "Being a monkey again, aren't you?" Sophie squeaked and scratched her head, making the little monkey noises. "On to the bears..." he said, pointing forward.

One of them was lying about on a huge rock, sunning itself as the cub tugged on its fur, trying to get it to interact with it. "Reminds me of Sophie..." he said, looking down at her.

"A bear and a lion crossbreed.. right.. been watching a lot of Napoleon Dynamite?" she giggled at him and let them both go. "Ligers are majestic animals that have awesome magic skillz.." she quoted, trying her best to sound like the guy in the movie. They headed off towards the bears, watching as the bear climbed up on top of it's mother, or maybe it's father, she couldn't really tell.

"You're just lucky I'm too big to be climbing up on top of you," she told him with a very pointed look because she knew that he'd totally catch the innuendo and their daughter wouldn't. Then she managed to look as innocent as possible. "Ready to go to the gift shop?"

Tony had never seen that movie, so he didn't have a clue about what she was making reference to, hence the weird look on his face. "Mommy's weird," Tony said to Sophie, nodding enough that she nodded in agreement.

"Mommy's never too big to climb on Daddy," he said, wiggling his eyebrows. Thank God Sophie didn't know what the hell they were talking about. "Guess this is the gift shop's lucky day. I'm about to relieve them of all of their merchandise."

She blinked, "You've never seen Napoleon Dynamite??" she shook her head. "You're both totally sad.. very sad.. I'm going to have to make you both watch it so you won't be clueless." she patted them both on their heads like they were totally missing something because they hadn't seen it. Which they were.

Oh lord. She just shook her head and smirked. "Guess so.. come on you two.." she ushered them both into the gift shop where Sophie's eyes got wide and she was obviously giddy about being in what amounted to a toy store for the zoo. Fun times. "You ask Daddy what you can get and what you can't.. it's not my money.."

Sophie put her hand in her mouth and chewed, her eyes glaring at Remy in the same manner as Tony. It was as if she inherited Tony's pet peeve for being patronized.

Tony let Sophie slide out of his arms an onto the carpet where she could walk around, her hand in his. When Remy said that, Tony crouched next to Sophie and whispered in her ear, then nudged their daughter towards Remy.

Sophie toddled over to Remy and tugged on her hand, "Mommy...Mommy...Daddy said I can have whatever I want but you have to pick out a stuffed animal, too." He was still crouched down, grinning from ear to ear.

Oh dear. Two evil glares from both of them. How was she ever going to cope with that? Well it was too bad. Patronizing was fun, especially when she was right about it. Besides it was a movie, she was better at being patronizing to bigger, eviller things.

Watching out of the corner of their eye where they were obviously conspiring against her, she waited, crossing her arms in front of her chest until they were done whispering at each other. "I do? I have to get a stuffed animal? That sounds like bribery.. all right.. fine.. hm.." she started to look around. "They don't have sheep at the zoo .. should've gone to a petting one."

Tony was devious like that. He stood up and tucked his hands in his pockets, whistling while looking at all of the different stuff in the place, keeping his eye on Sophie as she followed along with her mother in search of the perfect toy.

He picked up a few random things like Happy Feet and the Lion King just because he didn't know if they had them in the house for her. It was their turn to have fun in this place, after all. "Sheep are boring," he said as he bent over and picked up another DVD.

The moment he said sheep were boring she gave him this shocked look and then promptly picked up the nearest stuffed animal, whatever it was and then beamed him in the head with it as hard as she could. "Don't say shit about sheep.." she glared. Apparently you didn't fuck around with sheep.

Then she continued to look around for a stuffed animal. She didn't need a stuffed animal. This was dumb. Bah. As she looked around, her hand reaching through toys, it started to shake quite a bit. As soon as she noticed she blinked and shoved the hand into her pocket. Great.

"Ow, damn!" he said, rubbing his head, then remembered they were surrounded by parents and kids, not to mention Sophie was looking at the two of them. "Crap, didn't mean to say that."

He'd started looking through the bins to see if they had a sheep or something similar, but all he was coming up with were wild animals. He'd just picked up a stuffed wolf and lion and was turning around to make some joke at her with them when he caught the movement of her hand. His expression grew serious then. "What's wrong?" he whispered in her ear so as not to draw attention to it.

That's what he got for making fun of sheep. But she didn't mean to make Tony cuss. "He's sorry.." she told Sophie, and well everyone else in the gift shop who went back to their business of buying things.

Feeling him come up behind her, she was actually kind of amused he wasn't groping her like she'd been expecting. Oh right. He'd seen that? "Nothing.. maybe I haven't had enough caffiene.. or maybe I had too much.." she shrugged a little. For a while her hand was all right even though it was in her pocket, and then it shook a little again. "It happens.. I'm fine.."

If this hadn't been a serious moment, Tony would have been all for trying to grope her as much as possible and get away with it with people around, but her hand shook, and it scared him a lot inside. He put the lion down and smoothed his hand down into her pocket, laying his over hers. He felt the tremble then, and he looked at her pointedly as he pulled his hand out again. "It happens? I know what this can be a sign of. It's not just fine, Remy. Did you even drink anything with caffeine today?" Tony couldn't recall her having a soda while they were out, but he wasn't the most observant at times.

People were probably staring at them since he was sticking his hand in her pocket especially when her hand was already inside. "Yeah it happens." though of course as a doctor she knew that people didn't get the shakes from caffeine withdrawal until they were without it for at least several days. "I had.. coffee this morning?" she offered and sighed. "Okay so it's not caffeine.. my hand shakes sometimes.. that's it.."

Tony wasn't amused in the slightest at her fake attempt to pass this off as coffee was the root of the problem. And he definitely didn't give a shit if people were staring. Something was wrong with her, and this wasn't helping to calm him down at all. His brow shot up, "Oh, sometimes? How often is sometimes?"

Tony crouched down next to Sophie for a minute. "Now, honey. I know this might be hard for you, but do you remember if Mommy's hands ever did this?" and he shook his hand like he'd seen Remy's act. "Like this? Did they shake all the time?"

Oh lord, he was taking this all too seriously. Or maybe she just wasn't used to anyone taking this seriously, especially not her. "Once a month maybe? Sometimes longer then that.. what are you.. don't go asking.." but it was too late. He was already asking Sophie about things she shouldn't ever know.

Sophie looked up at Tony with big wide eyes, a little confused but then she nodded a little, "Uh huh.. an her legs too.." because she was matter of fact about it.

Remy swallowed slightly and rubbed her eyes. "Come on.. let's not do this here okay?"

If she knew him at all, she could read the expression in his eyes where there wasn't one on his face. Inside, he'd never felt so sick to his stomach. Tony nodded to Sophie, then looked up at Remy before standing up. "Go find your toys you want, sweetheart, but stay where we can see you." The store wasn't too big, but there'd be hell to pay if anyone fooled with his kid.

One hand wrapped around her wrist and pulled her hand out of her pocket so he could hold it, the trembling barely happening by now. His grip tightened as he swallowed hard. "Doctor tomorrow if I have to pick you up and fly you myself." He looked her dead in the eyes, swallowed hard, a mix of fear and seriousness in them before kissing her forehead. "Let's find that stuffed animal," he said as he wrapped and arm around her.

She hadn't meant to scare him, hell she hadn't meant to scare herself. It was easier not to be scared when other people weren't freaking out around you. But she knew the look, and knew that there wasn't really any way around him making her go. He really would pick her up and take her there against her will. That's what she got for falling in love with Tony Stark.

Her hand held onto his, glad that it had stopped shaking. Most of the time she barely noticed. She gave his hand a squeeze and nodded, "Yes sir.. but honest.. like we said, that could be years away and just because I have trembling doesn't mean I'm going to.. y'know.. I promise I'll be okay."

"But you have to do something about it now if you don't want to end up in a wheelchair or worse. I..just wish you wouldn't blow it off like it's nothing. It bothers me, okay?" Well more than bothered him, but he was trying not to make a scene. After this, he was going to pay a lot more attention to her hands and legs to see if he noticed it more than she was letting on about their occurances.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look, it's Daddy!" Sophie said as she ran o them, shaking a big brown monkey with long arms that flailed about. "You should get this because it's like Daddy and you like Daddy." and her little arms held it up for Remy.

"I know the signs and I know the symptoms. I dealt with it with my mom for years and years and years.. decades. I know what to look for to know if it's serious enough to go and get it.. looked out. If I find out I do have it.. then .. I dont know.." she was worried she'd have to quit her job, and then she would never get to do anything else. "It bothers me too.. I just.." never had had to answer to anyone else.

When Sophie came running over to them, she looked down and put on a bright smile. She didn't want to scare her daughter. "It is Daddy!" she said excitedly. "I do like Daddy.. too bad there's no bear-lions, or I'd get one of those.. I'll get this one then.." she took the monkey from her daughter and handed it over to Tony. "There you go.. my end of the bargain is done.." she looked back down at Sophie, "You all done cleaning out the whole store kiddo?"

Sophie grinned and clapped her hands while jumping up and down, pleased that she'd made Mommy smile with the monkey. "I want a penguin."

"Well, let's get your penguin then," he said as he took the monkey and stuffed it in his arms along with everything else he was planning to buy. For now, Tony wouldn't bring this up anymore, not until they could talk about it at home without scaring Sophie. But if she'd already witnessed the effects, she knew what was coming. She was the most prepared of the three of them, it seemed.

He headed up to the counter with everything and Sophie had run and grabbed a medium sized stuffed penguin and brought it up and pushed it on the counter. Afterwards, he picked her up and set her down on the counter, pulled out his wallet and handed his credit card to Sophie who then swiped it through the machine for him and gave it back. A tag team of spending money, definitely father and daughter.

It was terribly amusing to see Tony's arms filled with stuffed animals. And really she just wanted to not talk about it anymore. Which he seemed to understand, which was nice of him. She figured once they got home though she'd be bombarded again. She waited for them to be done, just looking at things while she waited. Sometimes her hand shook, but not for more then a second or so. She was just having an off day it seemed.

When they were done, she stuck the big bag of toys in the stroller since it as easier then carrying it and smiled at both of them. "All ready to go and see if we're going to need to build another bedroom just for all her toys?" she quipped.

Sophie held onto the penguin Tony had bought her, keeping it wrapped tightly in her arm as he carried her. He figured he needed to do that with Remy's hand acting up. He didn't want Sophie's weight to aggravate it and she end up dropping her. He wasn't sure how the disease worked, what made it worse or better. He'd have to research it when he got home.

"Pfft, she's probably got a playroom besides a bedroom. I haven't checked the rest of the house to see if anything else changed besides that one room." He lifted her up higher so she could rest her head on his shoulder. It'd been a long day for all of them, and he just wanted to get them home.

"I'm sure you're right.. she's probably got a couple of rooms to herself.." she lead the way out of the gift shop and down the little ramp to head back to the car. Once there, she went to put everything away in the back, making sure that they had everything and stowed the stroller away.

She figured he could manage getting Sophie into the car by himself, though she might have to check the car seat before they took off. "I think someone needs a nap.." since well she seemed to be dozing off in his arms.

"Yeah, I think I need to lie down when we get--oh you mean her. She's out cold. Too much excitement and climbing for her." He'd secured her in the seat with her little penguin next to her and made sure her head wouldn't roll around while he was driving. He didn't think the back of that SUV could be so full of crap, et there in his rearview mirror he could see the monkey sitting right on top of a bag.

When they'd gotten in the car and he'd started to drive off, he glanced over at Remy, "How's your hand now?"
