Remy knew that she had to talk to Cian, what with all the weird stuff Ellery went on about. He was claiming that they were in love with each other and should get married. She didn't know if that had been out of nowhere, but she promised that she would call Cian and actually talk to him, or at least talk to him about talking to each other. So she picked up the phone and called Cian up, hoping that if they talked about it maybe she wouldn't feel so weird about things.

After she'd gotten the message from Ellery that Cian had fallen yet again, though this time it was off a plow. This time she brought a wheelchair with her, and everything else she'd need as she rushed over. Inside she was panicking a bit and telling herself that she should have done something to make sure that this wouldn't happen again. But she didn't know what she had missed the last time. This time she wouldn't miss a thing.
Taking the port key to their house, she headed out to the field where she spotted the plow sitting and rushed over with the chair. Once she actually saw Ellery, she slowed down a bit until she got there. "Hey.. is he still breathing?" |

Remy had been working on patients charts when there had been someone needing help. Though she didn't know if anyone else had responded, being the helpful doctor that she was, she figured out what was going on and immediately took off. It didn't take her but a minute to get to the port key that would take her to Vegas.
She'd brought everything she could think of that she'd need with her as she arrived at her destination. Once she got there, she headed for the back of the ranch as fast as she could. Hopefully she wouldn't be too late. |

Tony had to learn to stop watching that stupid television show that Remy used to come from. It was seriously messing with him in regards to his wife, and all it'd done lately was remind him that she'd been really sick once. But last night's had been the worst. Drugs, slipping into that self-destructive lifestyle that reminded him so desperately of the one he'd had before he'd come here. It'd made him see just how much more alike they had been than he'd known. It'd even made him much more clingy in bed than usual. And it'd affected his mind so much that he couldn't keep focused at all while he'd been down in the shop tinkering around. Even Ant could tell he was uneasy which agitated the baby. But now Ant was down for bed, asleep soundly in his playpen in the living room while Tony stretched out on the couch, flipping channels while he waited for Remy to come home. |

It was as if a veil had been lifted off of his eyes ever since Remy had spoken those words. Pepper had been here in this universe for a long time now, was even pregnant with his other self's baby, which was technically his as well, and it immensely gnawed at his mind. He'd had his mind wiped? He'd been on the verge of a divorce because of Pepper and his love for her? All of this was news to him, and Tony honestly didn't know how to react to all of it. He'd run the gamut of emotions: anger, frustration, sadness and elation. But what was he supposed to do?
Only one thing he could do. He had to go and see her for himself. Just because he didn't trust himself, he'd take the baby with him, and secretly, he wanted Pepper to see his son. The one that could have easily been hers had it been a different time.
When Remy returned, he was waiting for her in the den, though he'd fallen asleep on the couch, his body outstretched across it with Ant just as sound asleep as him, the baby quietly sucking on his thumb with Tony's hand resting on back. Tony had dozed off while watching television to keep his mind occupied after feeding Ant.
He didn't even look peacefully asleep, either. Tony looked conflicted or worried, even as he slept, though it wasn't a wonder what with everything that had to be running through his head at the moment. |

The next patient on Remy's list was someone who had recently had one of the arc reactors put into his body several weeks ago. It was time for another check up, to take some of the stitches out and to make sure that everything was going properly. She could do most of that herself, but in order to make sure the actual reactor was functioning, she had to bring in her husband. After all, he was the one that built everything.
She decided to wait for him to join her in the back where all of the curtains were lined up sectioning off each 'room' from the other. Might as well do it all at once so the poor guy wasn't waiting. She had just seen him a second ago, figuring he was washing up around the corner. |

Why in the hell was he letting his wife invite the guy who looked like him to their house anyway? One might say Tony Stark was pretty whipped at this point, but he really didn't care. Most would have found it weird to hang out with their doppelgangers, though Tony would probably end up more amused than most. Especially with how stud this guy acted with his acting career and method crap. But Rena and Sophie liked him, and he really didn't have a reason to dislike the guy. So while Rena attended to seeing him in when he finally arrived, Tony went to take care of Ant. It was nearly his bedtime, and he'd already been fed.
Kirk, however, was in a Jaguar hauling ass to the address of the infamous Iron Man's house. Well, his incentive was the hot wife and the free booze, but bonus points for getting to hang out with a superhero. Maybe he could study him, convince a studio that he could play him in the sequel. Once he got there, Jarvis greeted him at the gate and allowed him inside where he parked and went up to the door, knocking. |

Sir, Colonel Rhodes is on his way. Shouldn't you be preparing for his arrival?
"In a minute, Jarvis. Just have to finish one...small....detail--there. All done," he said as he dropped the very fine tipped paintbrush onto the desk. Tony normally would have had Jarvis render the Mark II in an array of colors just to make fun of Rhodey's weekend wedding to a guy, but he figured a small rainbow delicately painted inside of the helmet where only he could see it would be substantial enough. Until he decided to take it off.
He'd already been down there for hours running scans, diagnostics and what have you on the Mark II, so he was thoroughly grimey and he wasn't sure just when Rhodey would get there. But anyone who looked at Tony could tell he was happy he was on his way. He'd really missed having his best friend around. Then a baby cooed which distracted Tony from his decision to finally go and shower. He smiled and walked over to Remy, who was holding the baby in her arms, bouncing him lightly to entertain him. He was definitely a Stark with the jet black hair and the curiosity for mechanical things since Edward currently had his gaze on Butterfingers, who was pinching motions at Edward as if he might go for the cheeks.
"Hey, if you pinch him and leave a mark, I'm using you for spare parts on his future tricycle," he said as he wagged a finger at Butterfingers. The robot drooped as he was chastised and retreated off to go and do something else. "I'm going to go get cleaned up before he gets here. Might as well look like a family man and not a bum," he said, kissing her first then kissing Edward on the top of his head. |

He could be a man about this. He could tell her that, yes, he was in love with Pepper, but he didn't love her any less. Tony knew he felt like this for both of them and had known it for a little while now, but he had buried it down as deep as he could. It was easy to ignore that when he didn't see Pepper aside from her speaking to the other version of himself. But that night, seeing her dying and the face she was so in love with the other had been it. It'd broken him, made him angry and he'd finally admitted every bit of it to himself and to her.
But in turn, he was ruining the best thing that'd ever happened to him. And it was slowly killing him inside that he was destroying the one person he'd promised he wouldn't, despite that he'd told her up front how he was and that old habits died hard with him. He pulled into the parking lot of the motel she'd told him to pick her up at, his fingers drumming on the steering wheel out of nervousness as he spotted her. |

There was nothing like a pitcher of blended daquiri mix and lot of vodka to make dealing with heat so much easier on the California coast. He'd always known buying beach front property for dirt cheap would pay off in the long run and here he was escaping the shitstorm of New York. Ghosts running around attacking and making more? Yeah, screw that. There wasn't anyone here he gave a crap about. Except Wilson. But that was enough story entirely.
House lounged on a beach chair on the deck of his house, a jumbo drink in hand and boardshorts and a t-shirt on, his cane propped against the side table. He'd already mixed up the promised Mojito for Thirteen for when she arrived, and he really wondered what was so screwed up that she was willing to hang out with him, drinking herself into oblivion on the beach. He couldn't wait to hear this. |

Why: Pepper's dying, Extremis! Tony has been attacked, and only one man is left to save them both
Rating: R for the cursing going on
Despite the danger he knew could await him, Tony wasn't about to leave Pepper there for something else to come along and get her. He was closer than the other version of him, and even if he was already halfway here, he could get to her first. He owed her so much more, but this was just a start for his atonement. When he arrived at the hospital, he found her lying on the ground, curled up in pain with a strange tattoo covering portions of her body. Landing next to her, his faceplate retracted and Tony stared down at her as he attempted to get her up from the ground. He wasn't sure if his suit would protect him or if he'd even be able to move her. "Pepper...Pepper, it's me...I'm here to take you to the mansion...."
In the mean time, the other Tony had went off frantically in search of the one who'd attacked Pepper. He had been intending to make it pay, but instead it had gotten him in the end. He was flying off now to find her, and he could <i>feel</i> Extremis in his body trying to fight this off whatever it was. He was in pain, but it was battling the pain while repairing parts of his armor midflight. He thought he had made it out clear, but then a strong sharp jolt of pain shot through him just as he got near the hospital, and bits of his armor began to fall off. First the repulsors flickers, trying to go offline, then his gauntlets fell off and the undersuit had retracted back into his body. Tony was falling fast, and the next thing he realized, he was crashing to the ground a few feet from his other self and Pepper. |

Rating: G for Gawd this is too cute.
"Shhh....shhhh, it's alright, see? Daddy has your bottle right here. Just have to-" and he was struggling with holding Edward and testing the warmth of the milk in the bottle at the same time, but he managed to drip a little on the inside of his wrist. Determining it was the right temperature, he gathered up the bottle, a spit up cloth and the baby and headed upstairs to the nursery, which had spontaneously popped up in the house when everything had returned to normal. There was no baby monitor since Tony had insisted that the crib be in their bedroom for now until Edward was a little older.
When they entered the nursery, it turned into their own little sanctum where he fed his son, quietly rocking him in a chair and sometimes he could be heard singing to him. He put the cloth over his shoulder and settled into the rocking chair, cradled Edward in his arms and supported his head before testing the bottle on his lips. He latched onto it greedily as he watched his father smile down at him, then kiss his little head just near the soft spot. Tony had started to hum as he rocked Edward, and it wasn't long before his little eyes were slowly closing as he ate.
Once Edward had finished, Tony put the bottle down and burped him, then cleaned him up a little before he put him against his chest and rocked him back to sleep, all the while singing to his little boy. "You know," he whispered against his forehead as he kissed it, "Daddy's always going to take care of you and your mother and your sister. It's not going to be like me with my father. You won't lose me and be expected to grow up so fast." |

Actually Remy had gotten up out of her bed if only to change her dressing gown. Yeah she was about to be sweaty and bloody but she didn't need to be all wet down there too and have it feel like she peed herself. She moved all of the blankets and things off of the bed and waited for Tony to come with some of the servants.
There was already some discomfort, but she was dealing with it rather well. She had half a mind to call for Dr. Cuddy, but she didn't know where the woman was, or how long it would take her to get there. It wasn't like she'd actually delivered a baby before. Pediatrics were so not her thing. This was going to be interesting. |

She also had another couple of shots of morphine for him.

This was and extremely volatile situation that was probably already teetering on the prespice of exploding even before everyone involved had gathered. Rule number one: Never put your pregnant and hormonal spouse in the same room with your secretary who's been smitten with you since day one. Pepper Potts was the epitome of professionalism, though, and she wasn't likely to say anything that'd give Remy a cause to worry or flip out. But hormones and a sting of jealousy over one man floated in the air. Tony Stark was probably about to regret this, but he'd missed Pepper just as much as he missed Rhodey. He was looking forward to seeing Pepper, to show her that this place had been the best thing to ever happen to him. |

Tony'd kept Sophie occupied down in his lab after they'd had their lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches so he could watch her while he tinkered with a part of her upcoming toy. He'd almost gotten the hovering capabilities stablized enough for them to pay Mommy a flying visit. When it got close to time for the appointment, he took them upstairs, bathed and dressed her in a nice little t-shirt and overalls and they were on their way to Kent. Sophie'd been asking where Mommy was during the day, with Tony promising they were going to see her.
When they arrived, he asked to be shown where Remy's office was so that she could take them down to see Cuddy since she wanted to see them both. Didn't take long before he was climbing off an elevator and knocking on an office door with both him and Sophie pressing their faces to the glass in strange silly ways. |

The day was fairly warm, warm enough to enjoy their little adventure to the zoo. But Remy made sure that she bundled Sophie up, and the three of them headed out to the zoo. She wondered if Sophie had ever been to the zoo, what she'd seen and what she hadn't seen. Though she could talk, it wasn't like the kid could really talk about what had gone on in her past. That was for a later time, she supposed.
Getting into the zoo, she hm'd a bit, looking at Tony with a grin before looking down at Sophie in her stroller. The kid could walk, but she was two and they'd have to carry her most of the way without the stroller. "Okay kiddo.. do you want to see the monkey's first? Or the polar bears?" that seemed like a good place to start since they were the first ones you came to depending on which way you walked. |

There was a bedroom that was just down the hall from Tony's main one that used to be an office of sorts. Now, the room's decor had changed into a small twin bed, toybox and various other accoutrements for a two-year-old girl. Sophie sat at a table, her tongue sticking out of the coner of her mouth as she tried to color inside of the lines in her coloring book. Her mannerisms, the way she concentrated on her drawing, was every bit of Tony's character. |

She was highly amused so she turned up the volume pretty loud and started to play.
Actually she wasn't that bad at it, though it was taking her a bit to get it down. But soon she was singing along and rocking out, since no one was looking. Right? |

The room was practically dark aside from a the light from the drafting table and the blue glow from the apparatus on Tony's chest through the tank top he wore. He was bent over the desk, pencil in hand as he used the T square to draw lines here and there, connecting points in the giant piece of blue print paper. "No, wait...ah, crap," he said as he reached for his eraser and took away one of the lines, brushed away the shavings and attempted to redraw the line the way it should go. Tony hadn't spoken much to Thirteen aside from the exchange about his gifts. It was all well and good that he didn't. He'd already said too much, and so he'd done just as he always did: retreat to his usual solitude and kept himself busy working. |

Remy was all set to get new clothes. She didn't remember the last time she could afford new clothes. Sure her salary now was better then it had been in ages, but she still had loans to pay off. And it wasn't every day that some rich guy offered to buy her stuff. Maybe if her house and her job weren't destroyed she wouldn't have taken his offer. But they were, and here she was, waiting for him to come and meet her at the car so they could go shopping.
Why did he even want to go shopping? Wasn't that like a girl thing to go buy clothes? She guessed it was to make sure she wasn't going to go buy 5 cars or something instead. |

Tonk had told Captain America that he was on his way to the Hearst Building, but then he'd seen the distressing message from the girl at Kent, and from the way it sounded, she was about a step away from being dead. There seemed to be so many that needed saving, but he couldn't help them all. This one, however, demandd his immediate attention and it was on his way. The meeting could wait.
Jetting as fast as he could go, Tony arrived at the building and headed inside, avoiding debris and rubble as he entered the 7th floor, looking for the girl. Using the armor, he scanned for life forms on the floor, sure that she'd stand out if there was more than one. Making his way to her, he broke through some of the rubble, casting it aside as if it were nothing as he punched in. |
