Bobby Twist hadn't seen his father for nearly fifteen years. The last he knew, his father had been killed. It wasn't a tire blowing up in his face, Bobby knew the truth. It wasn't even because he was homosexual. Bobby knew his grandpappy had had his daddy killed, cause Grandpappy didn't like Daddy. Bobby wasn't a genius, he didn't have to be to figure these things out.

And now, Bobby was about to be reunited with his Daddy. Pa. He called him Pa, mostly. Pa had been dead a long time, and yet, Bobby had spoken to him. After the vortex, and the arrival in this new world. Maybe he was dead too. Weird, then, that Alma and the baby were here too. Bobby wwasn't sure what to think. He didn't want to be dead. he didn't want Alma and Drew to be dead. But they were all there, with his Pa.

Bobby paced in front of the place where the port key was said to be. That was another thing Bobby couldn't wrap his head around. His Pa was coming to Jackson Hole through a port key. Well, Bobby's just wait and see if Pa actually showed up. Maybe the whole thing was a dream, and he'd wake up witht hat eerie feeling he sometimes got.

	"I ain't never doubted that, Pa." Bobby did have his doubts. he had few really good memories of his dad. His two grandfathers had colored his memories of the man over the years. Mostly, he remembered that his Pa was gone a lot of the time. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He saw the downward tilt of Bobby's mouth, the glance to the side, all signs he had been trying to lie. It got a frown out of Jack as he put in his drink order, but he didn't say anything about it. He didn't have room to talk- he knew, if Bobby's mother and grandfathers were the source of so many of his memories, he probably wasn't the father he'd hoped he'd be remembered as. All he could do was make up for it, now.

	Bobby leaned in next to his father, and gave his order. Settling back, he scrubbed a hand over his face. "Truth is, pa, I don' know wha' t'think most th'time. I 'member when y'took me fishin'." Jack nodded again, glancing down at the table before back up to look Bobby in the eye. "I know, son. I ain't exactly proud'a not bein' there for'ya. An' I ain't gonna go on like I think givin' ya excuses s'gon' make it better. But I want y't'know, I was doin' what I had t'do, t'keep us all inna decent life. An' m'glad y'seem t'be better off, not havin' to do th'run around t'get by."

	Taking his own drink in hand, he let the pair of them fall into a companionable silence, Jack losing himself in his own thoughts; all the things he'd missed. The birth of his grandson. Bobby was also lost in his own thoughts, trying to separate what he remembered from what he'd been fed the last fifteen years or more. Neither of his grandfathers liked his dad, for whatever reason. Even his mother had little good to say about Jack. Bobby had, effectively, grown up without a father. He knew a lot of his anger stemmed from that fact, from the feeling of abandonment, and the only reason he didn't outright blame his dad, was because his grandfathers tried to force that on him, and he rebelled against them.

	"S'ain't right, son." Jack mumbled out, taking another drink and leaning back on his chair. "'Don't even know where t'start on 'ow 'is ain't right." 	"Don't matter, no how, Pa." Bobby felt the tension too, thick as butter between them. "Y'here and them others ain't here t'poison me 'against you no more." 	Jack spun his glass, watching the liquid swirl around as he thought about that. "Y'got e'ry right t'be mad at me, Bobby.
