Who: Jack and Bobby Twist
What: Reunion
When: Last Week
Where: Jackson Hole, WY

Bobby Twist hadn't seen his father for nearly fifteen years. The last he knew, his father had been killed. It wasn't a tire blowing up in his face, Bobby knew the truth. It wasn't even because he was homosexual. Bobby knew his grandpappy had had his daddy killed, cause Grandpappy didn't like Daddy. Bobby wasn't a genius, he didn't have to be to figure these things out.

And now, Bobby was about to be reunited with his Daddy. Pa. He called him Pa, mostly. Pa had been dead a long time, and yet, Bobby had spoken to him. After the vortex, and the arrival in this new world. Maybe he was dead too. Weird, then, that Alma and the baby were here too. Bobby wwasn't sure what to think. He didn't want to be dead. he didn't want Alma and Drew to be dead. But they were all there, with his Pa.

Bobby paced in front of the place where the port key was said to be. That was another thing Bobby couldn't wrap his head around. His Pa was coming to Jackson Hole through a port key. Well, Bobby's just wait and see if Pa actually showed up. Maybe the whole thing was a dream, and he'd wake up witht hat eerie feeling he sometimes got.

If it were to come up, Bobby would tell him Ennis didn't attack him for being Jack's son. He attacked him because he thought he was Jack. The mun may have to write this scene.

Bobby followed suit, drinking from his fresh bottle. He savored the taste of it, the chill on his tongue. "Y'oughtta know, Ennis been like a father t'me." More or less.

"Was 'e, now?" Jack couldn't really see that, but he had to guess Bobby meant it as a compliment, so he took it that way. "Good, son. F'there 'as someone I could.. e's a good man, under the asshole exterior."

Bobby nodded. It wasn't all sunshine and roses, with Ennis. Jack wouldn't believe it if he said it was. Ennis was a difficult man to get close to, even just to talk to. But he had filled a void in Bobby no one else could.

"Hope at least 'e's happy t'see me when we get back."

"I don't think he's got memory'a you, son. 'Same as me. He didn't know... doesn't remember anythin'." Jack stared off into the distance, taking an idle sip of his beer.

"'Sgood, them. Alma done tell me he din't know you was in the grave, neither, so I reckon he wouldn't know me."

"Yeah." Bobby nodded. He just hoped the fact Jack was alive, and would be with him, would prevent a repeat of that first meeting with Ennis that seemed so long ago.

"Y'alright, Bobby?" He could tell something was irking his son, but didn't know where to start guessing.

"Yeah, Pa. Guess I's jus' thinkin' 'bout how he might react. Seein' as y'alive an' all. Jus' weird ta think he don't know me."

Jack's brows furrowed at that, unsure of what his son meant. "He knows I'm alive, son. That ain't gon' be an issue..."

"Yeah. I know." Bobby didn't really want to talk about the memories that were eating at him. "I reckon we oughtta get a move on, 'fore it gets dark."

He knew that look, but also knew pushing wouldn't get him anywhere. So with one more nod, he stood, drawing his wallet out of his pocket. Dropping more than enough cash on the table, he grabbed his hat off the back of his chair and started toward the door, sure that Bobby would follow.

Bobby followed, keeping a pace behind his father. His father. His Pa was really there. Bobby smiled a little to himself. He felt like singing.

Jack reached the end of the block, before scoffing a soft laugh and turning back to Bobby. "S'now what? Y'got stuff 'ere, or y'wanna jus' head back t'the ranch?"

"Then s'lookin' like we're headin' back t'that key thing, an t'the ranch. Turning back, he lead Bobby back down the road to the alleyway he'd started in, looking around for the bit of trash he'd grabbed on his way there.
