He was worried about Ganieda, worried about her living situation, worried about her mom, and worried that it would go really wrong, really fast. He wanted to protect her, even as he did not know how, and he feared that if anything happened, it would be when he was not around. And that would kill him.

He raced down the roads, using back streets, moving as fast as he could. He had a baseball bat in the backseat, in easy reach, and he was ready, if fearful, should something happen. God, he wished he knew how to help her, how to make this right.

What the hell did he, a young guy from Nowheresville, know about helping people?

Nothing, maybe, but he knew he had to try.

As he turned down her street, he slid the lights down, and slowed to a saner speed, eyes on her building and everything around him, tense, and worried.

She slipped her arms around his waist as he kissed her. "I am just very tired. I feel as if I could sleep for a hundred years."

Ganieda was glad that she had someplace safe to go to if she needed. "I think that things will...look better in the morning." Because right now, homelife does not look very well.

"I suppose...having a mother isn't always what it should be," she said regretfully.

"Thank you," she said. It probably wasn't the best idea, but she did not much care if it were or not--all she wanted tonight was to be near him. It didn't matter to her if it were a few inches or a room between them. As long as she could wake in the night and call for him and have him be there.

"You make things right by just being here," she said. "Don't change yourself or who you are, you are precisely who I want."

There were some things she needed to take care of--but if her mother would not see reason, she could not stay there much longer, that much was clear.

	He hugged her close. "If.... if things do not get better, there is something called Emancipation you might look into. It is a process for a minor to become their own person, free of parental control. If things get to where you feel you should." He hugged ehr close, worried a little. "I just want you to be safe." "I shall be safe," she says. "After all, they have no magic and I am sure they feel I am certainly harmless."

She sighs. "Merlin has mentioned such a thing to me as well. It looks like I shall have to, and sooner than I had wanted." She let herself be held, feeling rather horribly sad. This had not gone anywhere near what she'd hoped it would be.

"I am very lucky to have two such good men to worry for me." She sighed and snuggled closer.

Ganieda let her eyes close. They stung as if she'd been crying, but she hadn't been.

She smiled and sighed, a little happier. "You make me feel so much better. Just knowing that you're around, that you'll be there."

She looked up at him again. "Whatever happens with me and no matter where I live, you will be welcome. There are even certain parts of Lego that I can bring you to that hardly anyone has seen. And then there's Avalon. I can't wait to show you Avalon."
