She's havin' my baby.
Who: Solvei and future!Dean Wincester
When: In the alternaverse.
Where: LA
Warnings: Bickering and baby having?
OOC: Yeah, this is based on before they got to alternate universe world. Or well, what would have happened if they never went.

Dean didn't wait another moment. He was in the living room, looking down at his girlfriend who was literally popping all over his recliner. "Shit," he panicked and just looked at her, but she narrowed her eyes, glaring up at him. "Alright, alright!" He rubbed the back of his head. He told himself he was prepared for this day for the last six months, but now that it was right in front of him he didn't have a clue what to do. Emily would always help her out and do those breathing things with her and make her all comfortable while Dean just watched on and Emily was nowhere to be found. He was seriously panicking right now.

"Uh," he looked around and grabbed the bag of overnight clothes that she kept by the door. At least get grabbed that and rushed over, helping her up. He winced at the amount of squeezing she was doing to his hand. Note to self, never underestimate the strength of a slayer. He learned that before with Faith and Solvei, but right now, he was finally realizing it. He didn't bother looking down at the recliner seeing the damage she had done to it. Instead he helped her out to the car and helped her inside. Climbing in the drivers seat, he felt around for his cell phone, but she just sighed and held it up for him. Grabbing it, he pressed a few buttons to call the doc and inform him that they were on their way. Starting up the car, he hit the gas and sped out of the parking lot of the apartment they were staying in.

"It's gonna be okay," he said, trying to be a little more calm, but the look on her face when she was hitting those pains made him wince.

Sol thought that he was telling her that she was going to be okay more for his benefit than for hers. Of course she was going to be okay. Tons of women did this every day. She was pretty calm about everything. For now anyways.

"Can't you go a little faster? I don't want to have our baby in the Impala!" As much as she loved his car, she wanted clean sheets and a doctor present for the birth of her baby.

"Owww..." A big one came and hit her. It was just a really really tight pressure and she could take it, it just wasn't the most comfortable thing. "Can you call Xand when we get to the hospital? I forgot to email him real quick." She figured that while she was getting checked out by the doc Dean could sneak in.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" He yelled and gripped the steering wheel. He remembered Emily telling them that they had to remain calm, mostly Dean himself. If he got thrown off, that was just gonna stress out Sol. Emily read too many books, that was the problem with her. Finally when Dean took a deep breath, he nodded and pressed on the gas pedal a little more. Besides, he wasn't really looking forward to her having the baby in the Impala either. Actually, he thought he should have probably put a towel down before she sat on his seats.

It wouldn't be long until they were at the hospital and she getting those drugs pumped into her.

"Yeah, I'll call him," he said and glanced over at her, but she gave him a 'what the hell are you looking at me for!? Drive!' so he looked back at the road, clenching his teeth while he did so.

Pulling into the hospital, he parked right out in front of the door. He saw the nurses waiting for her. Getting out quickly, he ran over to the other side and opened up the door for her. He helped her out and she plopped down on a wheelchair. Nothing was really hitting him yet. Alright, yes, his girlfriend was having their baby, but it still wasn't hitting him like he thought it was going to. All of the preparation and thought that they have been going through for just this moment? Didn't amount to any of it. It wasn't anything like he thought it was going to be.

He was nervous, scared, panicking, worried, excited, everything just rolled up into one. The nurses wheeled her in and he looked back at the car, knowing he had to park it.

"Baby, I'll be in, don't freakin' start without me!" He yelled out and ran back to the car and got in, driving off.

Before she knew it, Dean was running off to get back in the car. Yelling back at him, "Too late for that! It's already started!" But he was already in the Impala and zooming off. Why couldn't they have just parked and walked. With all the books Em had read to her and Dean she knew that they still had time left. She'd never seen Dean like this before. This was actually getting to him. He was panicking!

The nurses wheeled her in and took her blood pressure. They sent her right away to the labor and delivery ward. They checked her over and she was only four centimeters dilated but they decided to keep her anyway.

The doctor came in at the same time that Dean came in. "Are you ready for your epidural?" The doctor asked Sol. "I'm not going to have one." Dean and Sol had talked about this. He wanted her to have one but she wanted to try and have it without.

The doctor said, "Well, if you change your mind there's still time."

It wasn't long until Dean was running through the halls, trying to find Solvei. He had already parked the car and as he ran through, he was yelling for her, not exactly sure where to look until a nurse pointed him in the right direction. Clearly, he wasn't thinking. He was acting. And running on pure adrenaline. Once he was finally pointed in the right direction, he ran on up, not even waiting for the elevator. By the time he got to the room, he leaned against the doorframe, breathing heavily, but he was there.

"You're not?" He asked, exasperated and he leaned over, trying to catch his breath before standing up straight and walking over to where his girlfriend was laying down.

"I think you should have one, I don't think I can see you go through that pain," he explained and squirmed when she grabbed his hand. Wincing while she went through another contraction, he held onto the railing with his other hand and nodded at the doctor with an awkward smile. "Girl's gotta grip, what can I say?"

"You're only four centimeters dilated, so it's going to be a little bit," the doctor explained and looked over the chart before slipping it into the holder that was on the wall.

"Hey, I'm all for gettin' her more dilated," Dean joked, but the doctor just gave him a look. Hey, he'd rather do that than have her have to get back in the car, or wait any longer to have the baby. Once the doctor left the room, he pulled up a chair and sat down next to her, wishing that Sam, Faith and Emily would get there already, but they were on a job.

"Anything I can do?" He asked and rubbed her arm a little before turning it around to see the IV that was stuck in it. He set her arm back down and moved the railing down so he could be a little closer.

"You know you look hot as fuck all sweaty and stressed," he grinned. "Just don't get too stressed, don't wanna upset the baby."

Sol couldn't believe it when Dean said that bit to the doctor about getting her more dilated. Rolling her eyes, she squeezed his hand again, but this time it was for the comment and not because of a contraction.

"Nope, just stay with me." She replied to him asking if there was anything that he could do. "I didn't know... that you felt that way about the epidural. I'll totally get one if that's why."

When he told her that she looked hot she laughed a little. "Baby, I don't know how you can say that I look hot at all. I've felt like I look like I've swallowed a bowling ball for the last month."

She got a big kick just then. "Sophia! John! Stop kicking your mommy!" She settled against the pillow and looked over at Dean. He still looked freaked. "You know, baby, this is supposed to be a happy thing."

"I think I can manage that," he told her softly before grabbing her hand again. Dean just shrugged when she said she'd get an epidural. It was up to her he figured, it was her body, that was his view from the very beginning, but now it was all different. He didn't want her to go through any pain, especially since she was a Slayer. If she had the epidural, she was bound to feel nothing, he figured anyway. He didn't know. He wasn't a chick that was about to have a baby.

"Oh please, you know you're hot," he grinned, looking her way. "Besides, I know you're just fishing for compliments now," he teased and played with her fingers until she started yelling at the baby to stop kicking her. Yeah, they figured they'd go the 'name the baby after the dead parents' route. John Harrison Winchester if it was a boy and Sophia Mary Winchester if it was a girl. He frowned a little, thinking about that. His dad was long gone just as his mother was and Sam still wasn't freaking there! Clearing his throat, he shook his head, "No, I'm happy baby. I'm just ... I don't know."

A few more slow minutes passed and he asked her again if she needed anything and she gave the same answer. "You know, if you would have had sex with me last night, I bet you anything the baby would have freakin' been here already," he told her, raising an eyebrow.

"Your just what? Came quicker than you thought it would, didn't it? It did for me too." Rolling over she felt restless. She hated hospitals with a firey passion. If Em and Faith were around she'd totally try and stay at home as long as she could. Before hand when the three of them had talked about it Em and Faith were sure that when the time came that Dean would freak out. Sol thought that he'd be cool as a cucumber.

She laughed a little when he brought up sex. "You're probably right. You just wanted to see my tits bounce one more time before they're all swollen with baby food!" She'd heard about the rumor that having sex would speed up the process. She wasn't sure that she believed it but since Em told them both at the same time Dean had to latch onto it.

"Did you call everyone? Shouldn't they be here by now?" She wasn't sure even if they'd finished the job that they were on or not. Or where exactly they had been when they'd called to check in. "Where was the job at again?" She felt bad that Dean was probably bumming that he didn't get to go. Maybe he wasn't, maybe he was. She wasn't really sure.

"Yeah, somethin' like that," he said, glad that she pretty much rolled over that whole conversation. Relieved, he reached out and rubbed her back when she rolled on her side and grinned when she started talking about her chest. "Yeah, they're already swollen baby, but yeah, that's something that I definitely don't mind," he clarified and continued to rub her back until she was flat on it again.

"I kinda like 'em like this," he said, tilting his head and reaching to cup one until she grabbed his hand again as she went through another contraction. "Damn, girl," he said in pain as she squeezed his hand alot harder than before. Slayer strength sucked and he swore his hand was broken this time. When she finished, he took his hand away and looked it over before setting it in his lap.

"You're cut off from hand holdin'," he said and rubbed his sore hand. Sighing, he rolled his eyes, nodding his head as if she she was nagging him, but then he remembered that he never called Xander. "Uh... yeah, I did," he frowned and got up. "I'm gonna go get you some ice chips. I heard that pregnant chicks eat that shit up, so uh, yeah, I'll be back," and with that, he was out the door and calling Xander to get to the hospital.

Faith was ready to knock Emily unconscious and stick her in the trunk for the rest of the drive to the hospital. She was literally bouncing up and down in the backseat, squealing about new babies and yammering so fast that Sam and Faith were having a hard time even understanding what the hell she was trying to say.

When they finally got in the hospital, Faith threaded her arm through Emily's and gave her arm a hard squeeze to bring her back down as Sam asked which room was Solvei's. Finally they had directions and Faith let go of Emily's arm as they walked in Sol's room.

"Solvei!" Emily yelled, running over to Solvei and sitting next to her on the bed. "Oh my God. How are you feeling? How far apart are the contractions? Are you remembering to breathe?" She asked in a rush as her hand strayed gently to Solvei's engorged midsection.

"Yo. You look like you're ready to pop." Faith added in with a shrug as she leaned against the wall.

Dean had gone off about ten minutes ago. In that time the doctor had come in and Sol had asked for drugs. She was afraid that she might've broken Dean's hand with that last squeeze that she had given him. Oops. The doctor had also told her that she was at seven centimeters and that it shouldn't be very much longer. Whatever that meant.

When she was alone again she started to panic a little. Where was everyone? How long does it take Dean to get some freaking ice chips? She didn't even want ice chips. She wanted everyone here. Since she didn't want to break Dean's hand she wanted Faith to hold her hand and Em to mop her brow and Sam to keep Dean calm. That's how she pictured all of this going.

Then she heard what sounded like some people coming down the hallway. Smiling wide once she saw Em, Faith and Sam coming through the door. Sol just nodded at Em and she said, "I'm not sure how far apart they are. Dean left. I think he had forgotten to call Xand." Sam came over and sat by the bed and took Sol's hand. "Can I get you anything?" He asked. She shook her head and squeezed his hand lightly before letting it go. She didn't want both brothers to get broken hands.

"Faith, c'mere. You're going to have to be the hand holder until my drugs kick in. I think I might've broken Daddy's hand." She gave a 'oops' face before looking around at all of them. "Can someone see what's keeping Dean?" Then a big contraction hit Sol and she was curling up in the fetal position. She felt Emily rubbing her back.

Dean hung up the phone after he talked to Xander and started heading back to the room. He heard some voices and grinned before he walked in, then saw Emily, Faith and Sam there. He watched them for a second before walking over to where he was sitting, but Emily was sitting in it now and rubbing Solvei's back. Frowning, he asked, "What happened? What'd I miss?" Pulling up another chair, he sat down next to Emily. "Are you okay?" It looked like Solvei was in a lot of pain and he wished that she would have gotten the epidural. As he helped Emily rub her back, he grinned over at Sam as Sam gave him an awkward grin.

"Sup?" He asked, nodding his head a little. He felt proud that he actually did something right, even if he was scared out of his fucking mind. Sam gave him a smile back before he helped tend to Solvei.

"How'd the hunting go?" He asked and this time he just took over rubbing Solvei's back, but now it seemed she was doing okay now. She had rolled back over and he looked at her hand for a second before saying, 'fuck it,' and he held it anyway.

"What took so long?" He asked and raised his eyebrow over at Faith. "Thought you guys had that sucker figured out yesterday," he wondered, referring to the case they were on.

Faith was holding Solvei's hand and Emily had moved to rubbing her back in gentle circles just like the book she had read said to do. Without warning she smacked Dean in the arm hard. He made an "ouch" sound and she gave him a haughty look when he turned to glare at her. "You are not talking about hunting today. Solvei is having a baby." She told him sternly before she turned her attention back to Sol.

"Well, it's not like your ass was helpin' us." Faith pointed out dryly in Dean's direction and Emily just gave her a warning look. No one was talking about work today if Emily had anything to say about it. At least, not unless Solvei wanted to talk about it. Today was about her becoming a new mother and Emily was going to make sure it went exactly the way Sol wanted, the way she deserved it to go.

"What do you need, Solvei?" She asked her friend gently, still rubbing her back. She glanced back over at Faith to see her grimace as Solvei gripped her hand harder and suddenly Emily was glad that they had more than one superhero in the group.

"You guys can talk about it..." She winced as another contraction took her over. "It helps keep my mind off the obvious." Sol wasn't going to admit it but the pain was pretty bad. She couldn't even think what it'd be like for someone that wasn't a slayer. Also, she wondered why the meds hadn't really kicked in that much yet.

After listening to them talk for about an hour the pain started to get worse. Sol was glad that they were talking about it because it seemed like Dean had lost his deer in headlights look and he was more calm. That would all be changing soon. Very soon.

Sol had a contraction, and it was the biggest one yet. She screamed and said, "I need to push!" The doctor had told her not to start pushing until he was there and had told her to start. Sam stood up and said, "I'll go get the doctor."

That was when she turned to her friends and said, "As much as I love you guys, I don't think you wanna see my junk get ripped open." Sol pretty much wanted Dean there only. And, on the top side of the bed. She was sure that Faith understood and Em probably would too.

Sam brought the doctor in and then he left with Faith and Emily to go to the waiting room. The doctor checked her over and smiled at her. "Yes, I think it's pushing time. Are you both ready to have this baby?" Sol wanted to scream 'duh!' but she managed to keep her mouth shut and just nod vigorously.

Dean waved everyone out and stayed where he was in his seat. He couldn't help talking about the 'job' because he was the one staying at home with Solvei like he had been for the last month. The closest he went away with them was about three weeks ago and Emily stayed behind, but Solvei was having contractions and Dean had to turn around with everyone because of it. He had taken her to the hospital but it was a false alarm. From that day on, he just stayed behind with her, just in case of everything and he was kinda missing it. Alright, he was missing it alot, but what could he do?

Everything was leading up to this moment and where he was panicking before, he was doing better now, even with the baby starting to come out. Grabbing her hand, he didn't care if she broke it fully, he just wanted to be beside her and helping her along. Before he thought it was hilarious when Emily and Sol would practice the breathing exercises, but now he was struggling to remember them.

"Alright, let's get moving," the doctor said a little too cheerfully for Dean's taste, like the doctor was gonna find extreme satisfaction that his girlfriend was about to go through an immense amount of pain.

"You alright baby? I'm right here," he whispered and got up from his chair and stood beside her as he held her hand while she pushed. Five minutes later, he stood speechless while the baby was being moved around the room to a weighing station. He watched while the nurses cleaned off the baby, weighed the baby and wrapped the baby up. The doctor was busy tending to Solvei and Dean just watched as the nurses brought the baby back and rested the little one in Solvei's arms once the doctor was finished.

"Oh, yeah, you guys didn't want to know what the baby was until huh?" The doctor grinned a little and got up. Dean swallowed hard and looked down at the baby and at his girlfriend as the doctor confirmed that it was in fact, a boy.

Curling his lips up into a grin, he bit his bottom lip.

"Do you have a name picked out?"

"Yeah, we uh, yeah," Dean started and finished with, "John Harrison Winchester."

It was a huge relief when the baby was finally out. The baby was whisked away before Sol even got a good look. The doctor finished cleaning her up while. And she thought that the nurses were probably checking to make sure he/she had all of her/his fingers and toes. "Everything okay?" She was feeling frantic for a second. All of the emotions were whirling around waiting to see her baby.

Her eyes turned to Dean. That was when the doctor spoke up and he told them, that they in fact, had a boy. Sol's smile was huge when they brought the baby over to her.

"Dean..." She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Look..." She kissed the top of his head that had a sprinkling of dark hair on it just like his Daddy's. "Look at what we made." Her voice was full of wonder. "It's your turn baby. Take your son. I don't want to hog him." She really did want to hog him but she would get a turn again. She was sure.

With more gentleness than she'd ever seen, Dean picked up their son from her arms. Leaning her head back against the pillows she watched and reached a hand out to put on Dean's knee.

Dean just stood there, watching Sol with the baby. His baby. Baby boy. He felt so much pride up to this one moment, it was gonna be hard to even strip that away from him. He knew from this moment on, the only thing that would matter would be this little boy. He wanted to show everything to him. He kinda wanted to be the father that coached the games and did the camping trips and the cookouts, but was that really the life for him? He swallowed hard and shook his head.

"No," he told her. "You hold him. You uh, yeah. I mean ..." he trailed off and frowned when Solvei insisted and he sat on the edge of the bed. Arms folded, she placed John in his arms and he smiled down at him.

"Shit," he muttered and bit his lower lip before looking over at Sol.

"That's my boy," he grinned and couldn't help but feel his eyes water with tears. Never in his life did he think this moment would come and now that it was here, he never wanted to let the moment go. He knew things were gonna be different, he just didn't know how different. He didn't want to give up his hunting, but something had to give. He couldn't just turn his back on the family business, but he knew that being a family came first.

At first Sol was afraid that Dean wasn't going to take his son. If anything she was persistent. It wasn't long before John was in his Daddy's arms. His little eyes had opened just barely to look up at his Daddy. When she saw the look in Dean's eyes as he looked down at his son she'd never been more proud of him.

Sol knew right then that nothing was ever going to take their baby away. Nothing was ever going to break their family apart. Dean was the strongest person she'd ever met and she was no chump either. She swore to herself that nothing would ever hurt their baby boy. After all, whatever it was would have to come through both of them first.

She squeezed Dean's knee to get his attention. Not really wanting to ruin the moment she said, "Do you want to go tell everyone? Or just take him out there?" Sol wasn't sure whether or not John was supposed to leave the room yet. The doctor and nurses hadn't said anything. Really, Sol wanted to get out of the hospital. She was kinda tired but she was fine. Once they said that John was okay to go she was going to make sure they went straight home.

When Dean handed John back to her to go get their friends she smiled at him when he kissed her quick on the lips. "I love you and I've never been more proud to be with you." She told him that not expecting anything in return just wanting him to know how she felt at the moment.

Once he'd left to go get the others she smiled down at her beautiful baby and said to him quietly, "You're about to meet the rest of your family for the first time John Harrison. All of them are a little weird but you'll get used to them." She kissed the top of his head and marveled at the smallness of his little fingers. "Nothing will ever happen to you with your family nearby. You'll be safe with us always. I promise you that."
