Who: Sweeney Todd and Sadako Yamamura.
What: Sadako gets her first scars ever.
When: Tonight.
Where: Sweeney's place in London.
Warnings: Gore and sexual themes.

Sadako wanted to see Sweeney, but she was honestly more curious about what he was planning for her. The taxi moved faster than her feet, and she was soon knocking on Sweeney's door, filled with anxious energy. Twirling strands of her hair around her fingers, she nervously shifted from foot to foot for him to answer the door.

As usual, there were dim lights to be seen beyond the thin curtains which were closed during the night. His shadow shifted from one side of the room to the door and unlocked it, opening it for her, "Good evening, Sadako. You look positively wracked by nerves. Come in, have a seat. I've got tea brewing already."

Kage was beside the barber, thumping her tail on the floor. She obviously liked Sadako -- not just because she was familiar, but because Sweeney seemed to be a shade less heavy-hearted when she was around.

The scent of tea calmed Sadako down a bit, and she inhaled deeply. "Not too nervous, mostly excited. A bit anxious. I'm curious about what you have planned."

Before going to get tea, she knelt down and kissed the dog. Sadako had always liked animals. They were kind, and they were always honest. Standing back up, she straightened her skirt and reached for Sweeney's hand. "How are you?"

	He slid his hand into hers and pulled her slightly closer, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "I am delighted to have you in my home once again. Things don't seem as dreary with your presence." 	The kiss to her cheek made her smile, and she returned it with one of her own. When he kissed her mouth, she was slightly taken off-guard. The charm and affection was all preamble to be sure, since there was soon to be a process of severe pain.

"Yes, precisely that. The Phoenix is something that we both resemble. We both died and returned, my own resurrection was more figurative at first. A wholly new man with the memories and body of one who'd died before... And your story is more closely resembling it. However, the fire portion of it symbolizes passion, desire. And you, miss Sadako, had a passion to live, a passion to survive and take that which wronged you and consume it with your own special skills."

He wandered to the kitchen and poured two cups of tea. He'd gone shopping and had bought green tea, just for a bit of variety. Not only that, but he figured she'd appreciate the taste of home. He offered her one of the cups and sat down on the couch. "What I intend is to give you a scar which is symbolic of your history, something which closely resembles you as a person. It will hurt more than I care to admit. But it will be beautiful, and much better than any scrawling cut I could've given you on Sunday."

She listened to his words and was surprised to find her eyes growing wet. Nothing so impressive as tears, but Sweeney could likely see her black lashes growing damp if he looked hard enough. She smiled to herself, feeling immensely grateful that there was a man who understood her so perfectly. She almost felt guilty for what she'd done to the world before - effectively ending it - and she vowed not to do so as long as Sweeney was in it.

Her bare feet made no sound as she followed him into the kitchen, taking one of the cups and inhaling its contents, eyes closed. As she took it plain, she followed him back to the living room, settling down on the couch and crossing her legs at the ankle before she took a sip. "I can handle pain. I go to a place in my mind, a place where there's nothing but myself, and I ... I don't know, I subsume it." She took a sip of her tea, remembering how good drinking had felt once she'd been brought back to life. Thirty years in a well had changed her, and she no longer took anything for granted. "I'd like that. Very much."

Sweeney looked at the shimmering glint of her eyes welling up and he shook his head. He knew her, because she was in essence, quite like himself. He would've done it to himself, had he the ability to heal like she could, but he hadn't even considered going that far with his own body. The scars he held were more symbolic of his life than any design that could be put there intentionally.

He took a sip of the tea, testing its taste, and finding it different but not unpleasant, he nodded. "We all have our own place we find when pain comes to us. Mine is a spring morning, from in my youth." And then he said, "Relax and enjoy your tea. I'll get things prepared. Have you decided where it is you'd like to have a scar?" He asked, taking another sip from his cup.

The tea was excellent and it made Sadako almost visibly relax. She took a moment to stretch her legs out in front of her before bringing them back to their more ladylike positioning.

"I truly don't know. Does anyone get to pick their scars? Fate decides for you, so perhaps we'll have your blade decide for me. If she's to be cutting me, then let the artist choose her medium."

That, of course, was the right answer, and Sweeney had something of a glint of an impish smile on his face before nodding. "And I know just who will do it. You see, I wouldn't have my closest, dearest friends attempt this. They're artists, yes, but not of this caliber. I've got a new set of friends, and one's got her blade still intact. She's the true artist of the batch, I believe."

That said, he set down his cup and stood, his fingertips brushing over her shoulders as he walked past, before he pulled down a case he'd put up on a shelf. Bringing it back with him, he sat back down beside her and opened its lid, to reveal seven razor handles, one of which with her blade still in. "The sins and virtues. I'd wanted this set for my very own when I was still alive. Miss LeBeau was fortunate enough to find it in her search for my ladies." He explained, pulling out Lust/Chastity. The handle's forms were subtle in their differences, but the difference was there. Demure and delighted was Chastity, a perfect picture of poise and respectfulness in a woman, and on the other side, was Lust, almost a mirror image of the other side, save for the expression on her face and the fact she'd let her hair down, and had no clothes.

Sweeney smiled to the razor, "A beautiful lady knows a beautiful lady's body better than any man. She'll know where to cut."

She smiled at the idea of Sweeney getting new friends, and was actually as excited to see his blade as she was the end result. His blades and their handles were works of art, and the loving care he gave them warmed her heart a bit.

Sipping her tea, she nervously tapped a foot, waiting for his return. She was glad it wasn't long, and she was soon studying the box he'd brought back with him. Scooting nearer, she set her tea down on a nearby table and smiled broadly when he told her about the blade he'd selected.

"Sweeney, do you know what my name means? Ko is child. Sada means chaste. You could not have picked better if you'd tried." Surely it was serendipity.

"I wasn't aware of that." He said with a smile, setting the rest of the sins and virtues aside in their case, closing the lid to set the bladed one atop them just to look Sadako over. "Though it seems fitting for you, you seem to be a very chaste woman from all outward appearances." He knew better, though, hence the fact that the impish smile stayed in place.

"Finish your tea, go into that place in your mind where everything is comfortable and relaxed, pet." He said, the chill to his tone obvious then, as he turned away to make nice with the razor. He unfolded her, listened to the all-too-familiar ring of the blade against the handle. She had a different voice than the four he knew intimately well. It was a higher sounding ring than the ladies, more joyous, more lighthearted. She'd be perfect for this. "Light, luv, light." He whispered to her, and turned back to Sadako, his eyes closing as he trailed the back of the blade across her cheek, then down her neck, and to her collarbone, seeming to be listening, or waiting for a sign.

Sadako couldn't help but giggle when he commented about her name. To be fair, Sweeney, I haven't done what I did with you with very many men. She bit her lower lip and then smiled, her grin matching his.

Draining the last bit of her tea, she set the cup down and relaxed against the couch. She closed her eyes and thought about the garden in her backyard when she'd been a child, the verdant greenery and the way the cherry blossoms smelled in springtime. Her mind didn't even register the razor as it moved across her body, though her skin did, responding in gooseflesh.

The razor, seemingly on her own, stopped just below and between Sadako's breasts, and Sweeney opened his eyes and smiled. "A perfect place, luv." And with that, he nodded and slipped closer to Sadako, pressing his lips to the corner of her jaw. We'll need that shirt off, luv. And if you wish to be more comfortable, you can lay back here, or we can adjourn to the bedroom. Though all he said was her name in a whisper.

His own skin had chilled at the thought of it, the sensation of cutting, but not too deeply, of raising the flesh and seeing the blood and yet not killing the precious lady with which he could share his thoughts. It delighted him to no end.

The gentle kiss made her eyes snap open, and she almost gasped for breath. Going to the place where she could fend off death always took a lot out of her, and she too a moment to collect her thoughts. You'd have more room to manuver in the bedroom.

She stood up and walked back toward his bed, unbuttoning her blouse as she went. Once arrived, she let her shirt fall to the floor, unhooking her bra shortly after. Arranging herself on the bed, she smiled a bit to herself, glad that she wasn't feeling at all modest.

Sweeney looked over her body again, taking a seat beside her on the bed as he switched on the lamp on the bedside table for better lighting. His hand then slipped over her smooth skin and he murmured, just enjoying the feeling of her underneath his fingertips. "This will be bloody." He murmured, wandering off only for a few moments, just to go wet a rag and set it in a bowl, as well as get a towel to dab away the excess runoff. He returned a moment later, setting both the items down on the table before taking the razor back up, fingers tracing the area where the razor had indicated, getting a feel in his mind for how big the work area was, and the design he had in mind started to come into clarity.

He didn't hesitate as he set the tip of the blade against her skin and set down the first line, an arced cut, which was soon mirrored on the other side. The blade was sharp and barely needed coaxing to get a clean cut into Sadako's body. That delighted Sweeney, and he worked diligently to coax out the initial design, explaining in thought to Sadako what the process entailed, and included a little history behind what he was doing.

She'd feel guilty later on that she hadn't really processed what Sweeney had to say; she was already in that lush green place again, her younger self already skipping and frolicking with reckless abandon.

But she was surprised when she felt the blade. Because of where she was mentally, because of her abilities, it felt warm, almost good. She murmured faintly, trying to pay attention without leaving her safe place, for fear that it would stop feeling so nice.

The barber worked with precise understanding of how deep to cut, the blade only an extension of his arm as he sliced the skin easily, the first wing coming into full form. It was when he slowly started to peel away that skin around which he'd incised that his brow furrowed. It took special care to get her skin away from the rest of her without dealing excess pain. The blood obscured his view, and so he rinsed off the wound delicately, making sure he didn't press down while wiping off the red fluid.

He started with the second wing shortly after the first had been finished, working just as diligently as he would with any other task, focusing only on making the design perfect. He wouldn't scar Sadako or give her more pain than absolutely necessary. And he didn't want to have to ask her to heal it so he could start over. That would just reflect badly on himself in his own mind. The razor, however, seemed to know just what to do. She angled herself just right, getting the details in the right places. It didn't take long until he was working on the neck, head, and beak of the design, and he didn't even realize he was humming to himself.

Sadako was trying very hard not to move, and she was surprised to find her normal safe place being replaced with loving thoughts of Sweeney himself. She was curious about what the finished product would be, curious about what was happening, so her brain created it for her. His humming had made her brain go in another direction, and she wasn't at all upset.

Instead, she sighed contentedly when he rinsed off her wounds, smiling in her almost dream-state. She could still send out missives, and she did. This is actually quite... lovely.

His humming didn't stop as he responded to her, the tone of his thoughts coming in tune with the song he was murmuring as he worked. As are you, Sadako.

He worked on the tail of the Phoenix last, the cutting away of her skin had to be thin and precise in the details there, and he was looking very consumed by his job at that point, not scowling or depressed in any way. It was a look of concentration, but also of satisfaction. His job was almost complete, this work of art was nearly done. A few bits of skin later, he wiped the blood off the newly formed wounds on Sadako's body and admired it. "Lovely. Yes, that is the word for it."

As Sweeney finished, she focused on the sound of his humming, letting it reverberate within her skull. She was surprised at how much contentment it brought her, and she found herself coming out of her trance as soon as he wiped off the blood. Gasping for breath, she winced, surprised at how painful the wounds were.

Should I heal them now, or would you like to admire them a while longer as they are? She was quick to deaden the pain receptors in her brain, so she could hold out a long while if he wished.

As beautiful as the wounds were, pooling over with blood, he looked up to her and nodded, "Heal them over. There's no need for you to be in pain more than you've got to be." His fingers grazed across the skin nearby the cuts, and her blood ran off to join his fingertips. He had a small, dark smile due to it, rubbing the blood between his fingertip and thumb.

"I feel somewhat selfish, now. Taking your perfect skin and marking it all for myself." He wiped the blood off his fingers, before he wiped the blade of the razor down and folding her back up, setting her aside with a whisper of "Sleep now. There will be more art soon."

	Sadako healed herself, but she was careful to do so imperfectly - something she'd never done before. Her nose scrunched up slightly in deep concentration, focusing on creating scar tissue. After a few seconds she was finished, and she turned her head to look at Sweeney. "Is it ready? May I see?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He put his fingers over the scar and raised both brows, nodding, "Go ahead." It was just as he expected it to look. He made a subtle gesture towards the mirror over near the closet as he stretched out on the bed, basking in his satisfaction. 	She pushed off of the bed, going to the mirror. Her fingers ran over the raised skin, smiling to herself. "It's... you really are an artist, Sweeney. This is lovely." He shook his head, "Art requires a subtlety to it that I've never learned to understand. I believe what I've done was meant to be done. My hand was guided." He put an arm around her. "Don't you see it in yourself? How lovely you really are?" He paused and then shook his head, "I suppose not. You've had a lot of people tell you otherwise."

He ran a hand through her hair, looking at her with half lidded eyes, "They lied to you." His brow knit as he realized something. He'd all but forgotten how pained he thought he'd be, laying in bed with a woman which was not Lucy, one he cared for. And yet, he wasn't. Here he was, content and relaxed and enjoying the company of someone who was quite kind to him.

"Sadako," he murmured, "why did you ask me to scar you?"
