What: Guitar Hero Party!
Who: Whoever you want to show up! Feel free to have your side logs, but this is the big one.
When: Tonight!
Where: The Winchester Mansion.

Dean bustled about to make the game room ready, giving the cook that he'd hired plenty of room to come in and out with food and drinks. He made sure the XBox was ready with the wireless guitar controllers, and went down to the front door to let people in. He wasn't nervous per se; it wasn't really a party party, just some friends coming over.

But hell. He'd never really done anything like that before.

"Oh, no worries man, the more the merrier. And here, we'll take the beer into - " He blinked and shook his head, chuckling. "We'll take it into the game room. Think my brother and his girl are making out again."

He didn't want anymore accidents.

Henry huffed in amusement at that, but understood where Dean was coming from. He'd roomed with another guy in college, and while they were rare, the accidents that occurred during that time period were of the better left unsaid variety. "Gotcha." He headed towards the room Dean indicated was the game room. Once he'd deposited the case of beer in an area where no damage would occur in the off-chance of any accidents, he opened it and pulled one out, then glanced to Dean with a raised eyebrow. "You want one?"

Dean put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. He'd just had a beer, but he figured he could have another one and still play pretty well. "You find the place okay?"

Henry grabbed another bottle and handed it off to Dean. "Yeah. I hired a, uh..." He scratched his head for a second and, when he couldn't come up with the right word, just shrugged and said, "I got a cab. I figure I'd just trust the guy that drove people around for a living rather than risk getting lost on my own." He chuckled a little at that, remembering how linear most of Walter's little worlds had been up until the Wish House. That one had clearly proved that Henry should never navigate on his own.

Dean nodded. He'd lived most of his life on the road, so navigational skills were something he'd cultivated around the age of ten. But most people hadn't had his upbringing, so he didn't expect many other people to be able to get around new cities with his facility.

He used his ring to take the top off of the beer, then took a swig. "Having money's weird, innit?"

Henry laughed at that and nodded, popping the cap on his own bottle before taking a good swig. "Immensely," he said, once he'd swallowed the beer. "One day I'm a photojournalist that's recovering from some 'mental health issues' and the next I'm a movie star with a history of crazy. Somebody up there is having a laugh, I think."

"Oh, God's here. Don't worry, she'll hit on you too." Dean chuckled, remembering their time together. If anyone had ever told Dean that he was going to do the things to God that he had done, he would have laughed, and then blinked at the blasphemy. Granted, he wasn't a church-going guy at the best of times, but what he'd done to God had been pretty dirty.

Henry started to say something about how priests always said God was everywhere, but stopped when he realized what Dean was actually saying. "Holy shit, you mean here like in the flesh, don't you?" The shock was quite apparent on his face. Clearly the idea of God made flesh was pretty surprising to him.

Dean nodded. "Yeah. She's here. And she's a chick. And she's horny. All the time. It's... well, she's kinky. A lot." He shook his head, remembering his time with her and chuckling. "You'll get used to it."

He didn't show it outwardly, but for just one moment he felt a flash of fear at this information. For a second, God had almost sounded exactly the way Silent Hill's cult described her. He considered mentioning it to Dean, to warn him that if any of them showed up they might go a little crazy - well, crazier, anyway - but let the thought pass. Tonight was for having fun, and besides, the always horny part definitely didn't sound like The Order's version of God. "At least we've got tangible proof of her existence now, right?" He chuckled a little and added, "Although I'm sure it doesn't stop the arguments over it."

"Yeah, well, there's other gods here too. The Fates are gonna be coming here tonight, so yeah. And don't worry - God's nice. She's really the Old Testament god, just with a leather kink." Dean shrugged and made a "who knows" face. "Takes all kinds, I guess."

Yet again, Henry was shocked, and almost choked on his beer this time. "The Fates," he croaked, eyes wide as saucers. After taking a moment to make sure he could speak properly, he added, "Jesus Christ, you have some lofty friends!" Henry was feeling more comfortable already, and it was showing in how he was speaking. He usually just stayed pretty relaxed about everything and allowed others to talk so he wouldn't have to conquer his naturally shy tendencies, but here he was being more outgoing. Dean was an easy guy to talk to.

Dean started to gesture with his half-full beer, then he thought better of it and gestured with his free hand. "I have no idea why, but yeah. Guess I do. Maybe 'cause of what I did where I came from? Maybe it's a big ol' cosmic thank you? If that's it, you'll get one too."

The thought that he might get some kind of cosmic thank you threw him for a bit of a loop. He really didn't think much of what he'd done. It wasn't phony modesty, it was just Henry's tendency to downplay his accomplishments. "I don't know if I did anything all that great, but I learned a long time ago not to question things like that too much."

"Hey, you're here, right? Gotta be thank-you enough." He grinned and clapped Henry on the back again. From what he'd heard from the man, he'd been through a hell of a lot.

Henry chuckled at that and nodded. "You're right about that. Pretty much all I need, really." He took another sip from the bottle and stuck his free hand into his pocket. "It's good to be able to talk about it with somebody. Back home the only person I could talk about this with was Eileen, and we didn't do that often. She was a little traumatized from it." As anyone who was almost the vessel for a quite probably evil god would be.

Dean nodded. "Seriously, it sounds fuckin' terrible. I mean, me and Sam have been through some crappy shit, but damn." He shook his head, sighing.

Henry nodded, his face taking on a more serious, slightly somber look. "Yeah, it really was. I still have to leave doors and windows open most of the time, just so I know I won't be trapped in the room I'm in." In truth, when he'd first moved in with Eileen after the incident with Walter, he'd been pretty traumatized himself. The TV was almost always on for background noise, he carried his cell phone with him everywhere, and he always made sure to have a loaded gun within reach at all times.

He'd mostly returned to normal at this point. He still had to keep doors and windows open, but he only needed the TV when he slept, and the gun was now in a nightstand rather than under his pillow. Although occasionally, on particularly creepy nights, he put it back under his pillow, just in case. "It's in the past though," he sighed, blinking to clear his head of the memories. "I just hope, if Eileen ever shows up here, she'll have healed a little bit too."

"That'll get easier too. Promise." He remembered after his mother had died, how he hadn't talked for months. His father had been scared and worried, but it had just been his way of working through his trauma.

Dean reached out to toast his friend, smiling. "You and she both lived. That's fuckin' something."

Henry raised his bottle in toast, adding, "We're all alive, after one long hard road. I think that's definitely toast-worthy." With that he took another gulp from the bottle. "Wonder how many of us are actually defying the odds just by being here?" He wondered if the vortex chose people based on some extraordinary talent, and a knack for beating the odds definitely qualified.

"I'd guess a lot of us. Don't think any of us have had it easy." He didn't know about the deities, but none of the people he'd met had had particularly easy lives. "Living's about all we can do, man."

"Amen to that," Henry agreed, taking another sip of his beer. It was getting low now, and he was considering grabbing another once this one was done. "Living the best we can, that's probably the best way to get one over on the people and things in the past that tried to take us out."

Dean grinned and nodded. He knew that Yellow Eyes was probably shitting nails if he'd found out that Dean and Sam had not only escaped, but escaped to the lives they'd always wanted.
