I've been neglecting to pray again. I apologize. I just don't know how to pray to something someone I know personally.
It's been a smooth transition for us, relatively speaking. I appreciate that. I only wish I could stop regretting the mistakes we made in the other reality. I want to make right the things we neglected there.
... What I'm saying is I miss Rocco. He was truly a good man, and shouldn't have fucking died for what we believe. He shouldn't have been brought into it. He was as innocent as the ones we defend. For fuck sakes, he shouldn't have died. I will always wear that as a burden on my shoulders. That he died because of us. If you're able... and he's somewhere in your keeping, God... I want to let him know I'm sorry. I didn't mean for him to die. We care about him still. Think of him every day. We even went to his funeral. Murphy brought flowers - just like he said he would.

God, I've met people here that said they'd died. We ourselves were as close to dead as could be before we were brought here. Why isn't Rocco here? What constitutes the basis for why someone arrives? He... He deserves a second chance. And an apology in person.

If I were to be able to do it all over, I'd have had him stay out of it. There's no reason Murphy and I can't do this on our own. We've eyes and ears and can tell when evil is being done. That's enough. Recruiting will only get other people killed.

In my Lady's name I pray,
Amen

Our cats are well again - well, they're healing, that's good enough news. They didn't catch rabies from that fucking raccoon.

Work's still slow, but it's a good kind of slow. Anyone feel like going out and celebrating over a drink?

Sweetheart, he knows you never meant any of what happened to him. He was a man with his own mind and free will and he did what he wanted, for love of the two of you and your cause. There wasn't anything you could have done to stop him from taking up that cause. He was loyal.

As for your questions, there isn't anything that constitutes who comes here or why. They just do. I don't control who is brought to this world. It's a random process. There's always a chance that he'll show up. I love you dears. Very much. I can feel your love for me, and I know that you pray when you can. Don't beat yourself up over not doing it every day.

Aye, I thought about it after I wrote what I did, and realized there was probably no talking him out of coming along for the ride. Man was as thickheaded as both of us.

Thank you. You know praying is cheaper than flowers, and I'd probably wind up sending those to you instead if I knew the address of the Vatican.

I'm sorry that your cats were attacked. But it's good that they're okay. It's terrible when pets get sick. I don't know what I'd do if our dog were attacked.

Beside watch Vash cry like a little girl.

Nah, don't worry about it. Drake picked a fight with something a shade bigger than him and Reed decided to follow along. You know how they say pets are like their owners? Well, it's like that.

They just bit off more than they could chew this time around.
How's it going, Nicholas?

Still, the raccoon assaulted them (never thought I'd type that sentence).

I'm alright. Having a bit of trouble getting into the job I want. Apparently the church isn't so trusting with their orphanages. I'm still proving that I won't be a danger to the kids.

Which is hard to accomplish when they insist on asking what the 'D' stands for.

Death, I take it? Or something unreasonably long.

You're just lucky you don't have five middle names.

Dangerous, actually. I picked it myself, when I was a kid. Didn't matter back home, I usually didn't even use my first name there. Here, it apparently matters.

You've got five middle names?

[info]twinveritas

Three, actually. My mum thought it'd be funny to give my brother and I each other's names as middle names, then our own middle names, then the name of our father. She was a bit drunk at the time.

If it makes you feel more at ease, I'll call you Wolfwood from now on. Seems only fair. And you've gotta love those things you do to yourself as a kid that would make you feel like a badass as an adult. Got my first tattoo at 12, found it to be a bloody stupid mistake, since who the hell wants Killer on their wrist? Luckily, the one down my finger and hand covers it up now.

That makes a certain amount of sense.

Do you prefer Connor, or something else? And Wolfwood's fine. Most of my congregation calls me Father Wolfwood, so it's easier to just go by one name.

Oh, don't even get me started on stupid tattoos. I knew a kid who tattooed 'fuck the world' on his forehead. Once he got to a certain age, you never saw him without a hat. We all do dumb shit when we're young.

Connor's fine. Haven't been called much else that doesn't require a superfluous knowledge of foreign obscenities.

Okay, that beats anything I've got for stupid shit kids do.

Hey, where are you? London, I'm assuming - seems like everyone but my brother and me wound up there. How about a round of drinks one day? I'm more than willing to hear some strange stories from a different planet. That is, if you're willing.

Brooklyn. And I never say no to beer. If you name the place, I'll meet you there.

Brooklyn - right. Forgot you'd said that before.

Lessee. Seems that Hartford would be a good middle ground between us. Or I could come to Brooklyn, or you could come to Boston. In any case, I know the whole damn area, been here long enough to know practically every alley between Portland and Philly.

Hartford works for me. I'm not used to staying in one place so long, it'll be nice to see someplace new.

When do you want to meet?

See, this is why I bring the dog in at night. People underestimate how fuckin' vicious racoons can be.

Hope they heal fast, and that everything's okay.

Thank you.

Dogs are pretty good at holding their own against raccoons. It was just the worry of them getting rabies that was cause for alarm.

Welcome.

Dunno, my dog's about as menacing as the Staypuft Marshmallow Man. And yeah, rabies is pretty damn scary. I think they've got shots and stuff for it if you catch it soon enough.

Regular size or attacking New York size?

And aye, we were lucky that the bloody fucking thing didn't have it. We brought its carcass along with just in case they needed to do a brain biopsy.

By the way, my name's Connor.

She's a pretty big dog - half chocolate lab, half pitbull. So, dunno, maybe in the middle.

Well, good. Glad to hear that worked out. Man, now I'm gonna be all paranoid every time she chases birds.

I'm Dean Winchester, nice to meet you.

Don't even worry. She'll be fine. Animals tend to be rather good at holding their own.

Likewise. Wait. Winchester, as in the rifle? Or complete coincidence?

Yeah, self-preservation's pretty natural.

Nah, a coincidence. If I'm related to the rifle people, then I don't know about it. Though I sure do like the rifles. They always fire so damn smooth.

Aye, that they do. I'm a firearm enthusiast, myself. Well, both me and my brother. S'a pretty amazing line of arms from the Winchester company, I just had to ask.

They're good, too. Actually, prefer Colt to Winchester, prefer Glock to Colt.

Colt's got no smooth action semi automatics that I really like, you know.
