Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Each Saturday, join the Enterprise crew and your fellow travelers in the Deck Five Lounge to meet new arrivals, catch up with those you haven't seen in a few days, try a new drink, or just enjoy the spectacular view.

After those three days stuck in one place during the red alert, while the ship was adrift, Leia, for the first time, spent the next several days exploring the ship. Oh, she avoided Vader and Kylo Ren as best she could - she wasn't ready at all for those face to face meetings - but she ate all of her meals in the mess, spent some time attempting to learn how to play three-dimensional chess in one of the rec rooms, and even visiting the gym and pool. So when Saturday evening rolled around and she knew that most people would be visiting the Deck Five lounge, she thought, well, why the hell not.

Leia ordered a brandy, not the same make that Christopher had kept for her in his quarters, but something a little less bold, and then found a comfortable place to sit with her back to the windows. It wasn't that she didn't want to look out into space. More, it was that she wanted her eyes and ears on the room in case certain individuals made an appearance. She sipped the drink carefully and glanced around.

	Betty had some wine again. She took her glass and scanned the room-- only to see None Other than Leia Organa sitting alone. Well, why the hell not. She was practically on her tip toes when she stood in front of the woman and asked, "Is this seat taken?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Seeing the same people and feeding them and watching them all get increasingly frustrated with each other had made Peter feel like he was crawling out of his skin a little bit. Even though everyone survived relatively unscathed, he was still, well, a little twitchy. He didn't drink much but he was pretty sure this week called for a drink. So he sat himself right at the bar on Saturday night and ordered a beer. No, he didn't have a specific beer he wanted. Yes, he was sure. No, he didn't want something else. So then he got a beer and sipped it and pulled a face. Ah well, he thought, it was something in his hand and something to do at least.

"Not a fan of beer, huh?" Clarke grinned at the guy, a little amused at the face she'd seen him make when she approached the bar and ordered her own drink. It had certainly been a rough few days while everything was on lock down, even if things with Sirius had ended well enough. It could have been so much worse, she knew. He'd taken a hard knock on the head. She was glad he'd pulled through it and no worse for wear, as far as she knew.

"It's kind of an acquired taste," she offered. "The more you drink, the better it tastes." Of course, before the Enterprise, about all she'd had to drink was the equivalent of moonshine and crudely made wines. Her Earth didn't exactly have an abundance of liquor stores. Or any.

Peter looked up in surprise as the blonde girl started talking to him. "Uh - I don't know. I don't drink a lot. My friends always liked going out to the pub but we didn't have beer like this. I like butterbeer mostly, but they haven't got that here." He wondered, not for the first time, if there might be some way to replicate it. If this ship could make whole places appear out of nowhere on the holodeck, couldn't it make an accurate butterbeer?

"Maybe you should try asking for something sweeter," she suggested. She'd never had butterbeer, but the Harry Potter books had been one work to survive through the centuries and she'd read them as a child. She didn't know if he was talking about the same thing or another drink of the same name, but it didn't sound quite the same as regular beer. She thought the taste was probably very different. She didn't have that much experience with drinking, herself, but it was enough to know beer wasn't the best tasting thing in the world, at least to her taste buds.

So much had happened back home recently. And then, she'd just ended up here. She'll admit a part of her wondered if AIDA had done something to keep her out of the way. But, she doubted she had the imagination for this. It wouldn't really fit in her algorithms. And, Jemma was about 90% sure that they had all escaped the Framework. She just wished she'd had a chance to see Fitz, and see if he...well, that just didn't bear thinking about really.

Anyway, now she was here. On the freaking Enterprise no less. It could only be better if she was on the TARDIS. And, she was in training to be a science officer. And, would in no time be in an actual official Star Fleet Uniform. Fitz, her Fitz would be so jealous.

Thinking of Fitz, made her need a drink. There was too much to work though, and she needed him here for that. And, she supposed she had promised Lucifer that she would visit the Lounge. So, she slipped into a bar stool, and ordered a gin and tonic. Turning to look out at the bar, after she'd been handed her drink.

In no universe was it okay for River to get even remotely drunk. She was definitely aware of this, and if Simon had been there he'd have been watching over her like a hawk when she entered the Lounge.

She got herself a fruity drink, something fizzy with no alcohol in it, and looked around. The last time she'd been in a bar for longer than a few seconds... well, that wasn't her. But 20 men had ended up on the floor.

River was hoping for a better experience this time. And then she noticed someone just a bit younger than her eating sad cake and looking sad, and she flitted over to him. "Is the cake as sad as you are? Cake should never be sad."

Mary sat down at the bar, gazing up at the bottles for a moment before ordering a martini from the bartender. It had been several weeks since she'd had one, and after being trapped in the traveler liaison office for three days, she felt as if she needed something stronger than wine. At least she had been stuck with Peggy, who was very good at keeping her calm. It could have been far worse if she was stuck with someone else, or by herself. Mary might have gone mad by herself.

Her drink was placed in front of her and she sipped at it delicately. A person slid into the seat beside her and Mary glanced up to find Lucifer sitting there. She'd been so glad that the two of them had finally talked and made up.

"I don't know if you've heard, but the management in this place has gone to hell." She smirked at him, hoping that he didn't mind her little joke.

"As well enough as I could," she said. "I was stuck with Peggy in the Traveler Liaison Office. We found a bit of food that kept us going, but it was rather miserable overall. I saw that you were stuck here. I'm surprised you have any stock left."

If she had been stuck in the lounge, she definitely would have drank, and since Lucifer couldn't feel the effects of the alcohol, Mary was surprised he hadn't consumed most of the bar.

	Yang was sitting alone at a table, with a strawberry sunrise next to her and her mechanical arm in front of her as she used what was basically a futuristic Starfleet screwdriver to tinker with it. She was sure the tool had a name but she couldn't remember it. So fancy futuristic screwdriver it was. Her tongue was sticking out one corner of her mouth as she concentrated. Bodhi didn't really know anybody other than Jyn so he'd decided it might be good to come along. He'd put in for piloting training and was hoping he'd be granted it but knew there was a chance he might not because of his medical. While he'd mostly recovered from interrogation his memory did sometimes stutter.

When he saw the young woman tinkering with her own robotic arm he couldn't help moving closer, focused on the arm with interest.

Poe rather enjoyed these gatherings now. It was a chance to meet new people and take his mind off of the things happening at the moment, such as Kylo Ren and Vadar arriving. It was certainly a different life and he certainly missed the missions and flying. However now he was undertaking pilot training here it gave him a little more focus.

Getting a drink he moved to the window and smiled as he looked out at the stars, he would never get tired of that view. They may be different stars but they were beautiful nonetheless.

As always, the first place Jaina went after she got a drink was to stand by the window. Even though they were on a starship and she still had the entire universe in front of her, it wasn't the same. She missed flying, she missed her squadron, she missed being among the stars, simply looking at them wasn't enough.

She'd been standing there for a few moments, sipping her drink, when she felt someon approach and she looked up. Jaina knew who Poe was, she'd seen him around but they'd never spoken. From what she knew of him, she figured that if anyone could understand how she felt about not flying, it would be him. "Hi," she said with a smile. "the view never gets old does it?"

Poe looked at the woman when she spoke and smiled, "Nope never does" he agreed pausing for a moment before adding, "I have to admit I miss being out there, it's an amazing feeling. I've not found much that beats it"

Flying was so much a part of Poe that he knew if he didn't get out there at some point he really would go crazy. He needed to fly like others needed to eat, it was an essential ingredient in what made him. His mother had ensured that.

Oliver would be the first to admit that he wasn't always the most social person. In fact, he'd been called downright anti-social since his return from the Island. Considering his lifestyle before his fateful trip on the Gambit though, it wouldn't take much for him to be branded as anti-social.

He didn't always go to the gatherings in the laounge on Saturday nights and when he did, he didn't always stick around very long. Tonight though he thought he'd spend a little more time there especially since he'd been stuck in the gym for a few days and yes, it could have been worse but it was good to be free.

When he walked in, he headed for the bar and ordered a drink then looked around for a table. He found one near the glass viewports and sat down, turning away from the view of the stars in favor of people watching.
