Who: Reed/Neptune and Lydia
When: Monday evening
Where: her place
What: probably a lot of tears and stress
Reed didn't know how to fix this. He'd sent out a mass message to all the other awakened gods and their mortal hosts, hoping one of them would know of a way to purge Neptune from his body. He was furious with the god, and Neptune was frustrated with Reed. They were at odds with what they wanted. Reed promised Neptune that he wasn't looking to have the god's soul destroyed, simply removed from his body. While neither idea appealed to Neptune, as he quite liked this body, it was something he was willing to consider if it meant being placed in a vessel of his own perhaps, or at least in a vessel that fought him less. He liked Reed's potential, but even he could see that Reed might not be strong enough to withstand the dichotomy of his life.
One thing was certain for Reed, he couldn't continue on like this. He also couldn't continue to ask Lydia to accept him, not after Neptune decided to go and fuck the body of her best friend. Something Abigail approved. Of course, Reed wasn't going to share that detail with Lydia, because it would be too much. He wanted the two to be able to remain friends.
After work, he took Ciaran back to the apartment and the headed for Lydia's place. He was trying to think of what to say the whole way there. Did he need to break up with her? Probably. She'd be hurt, but she'd move on, and she'd find someone far less complicated. But he didn't want to let her go. He'd been afraid to say it, but he was falling for her. She was the nicest, nerdiest woman he'd ever met, and he was nuts about her.
He took a deep breath before pressing the buzzer.
