"He likes you too," Reed added. If that was all Lydia was going to latch onto, then he'd take it. He needed her to see how important she was to him. "I hate how he ended up here, but I'm so lucky that you've helped me with it all." Reed really did feel lucky to have found Lydia, though it was partially Neptune's doing. But while the god had helped introduce them, he'd done nothing but fuck things up ever since.
Reed shrugged, "I don't know yet. There's a guy who thinks he might be able to pull Neptune out of me. He said it might.. uh.. have side effects." Reed looked down. He wasn't looking forward to that, but he knew he couldn't go through with this without some down side to the whole thing.
"You're still gonna like me.. without him.. right?" he asked, feeling uncomfortable. "I mean, I might not be all me anymore. The other gods are right about one thing at least, they influence us. I know there are parts of my personality that evolved because of Neptune. I might not be exactly the same."
