Just when I didn't think my life could get any more messed up, I'm walking into my new quarters on a strange planet, getting staffed in the face by my roommate. Not for the first time, either. That's the important part.

I'm from Beach City! My mom and our friends are from the Gem Homeworld, I don't know where that's at in the sky.

No, she uses her gem. It's in her forehead. My gem is in my tummy. I could probably do it too but I don't know how. Or maybe only Pearls can do it.

I GUESS they're aliens? It's their power? Our power. We have gems that let us do things normal humans can't. I'm half Gem, half human.

I'm 13! They thought I was my mom. It's a real long story. Are you okay? At the end of the movie, your back was hurt.

Are there any of them here? I think I'd be more comfortable if there were a lot of aliens around. Can you do anything like make holograms with your gem?

Two of them! Pearl, who I used to live with-- and Lapis, who was trapped in a mirror. She's out now. I can make a protective bubble with my gem. And a shield! Like Captain America. I also have healing spit but that's neither here nor there, sir.

Because of the movie! I saw it with Lapis! Star Wars! I'm glad you're fixed up. You seem like a really good guy.

I'm glad you got people too! But it's also fun to meet new people. Yeah, healing spit. It's super weird, I know. My friend Connie needed glasses but then when she drank a juice box after me, she didn't need them anymore.

I don't know EVERYTHING but I know a little bit. Is that weird? I'm sorry!
