A question for the new year:

Is there anybody else here that's supposed to be dead?

I haven't seen my movie yet, but others have told me about it, and death by way of poisoning and flamethrower immolation is much more exotic than I would have imagined for myself, even on a moon light-years away from earth.

Wooooooooooow that's a big regression. Do you feel really discombobulated?

Not totally, but I've spent a majority of my life studying human development, so that's been helpful. Otherwise, it probably would have been. Am I safe in assuming that you're from a point in time closer to the current?

A little earlier in 2012. What's the future like?

There's no guarantee that the place that I come from is anything like what the year 2093 will be like where you come from, but regardless, it's not all that different. Things get better, like technology and research and medicine, for example, among other things. But this city is much cleaner than it was the last time that I visited it. It's just different.

Are there flying cars? Jet packs? Any way I can fly, because I'd love that.

We have far advanced space technology, but flying cars and jet packs aren't exactly used in daily life. I'd give it more time.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

So space travel, future world, and apparently immolation.

It's not the prettiest package, is it?

I don't know, the fact you're at peace with it is pretty impressive.

There's not much that I can do to change it, so I don't really see other options. Besides, I'm alive here and now, and if I'm going to die soon after I go back to the place I came from, I should probably make the most of the opportunities I have here.

It's usually one thing to say that, but not so much to mean it.

You think I don't mean it?

Oh no, I do mean it! I'm saying it's admirable that you do.
