Well, it looks like I'm doing this for the Halloween party. Which leaves me about five hours to find violet coveralls.

It's hard to say now without letting all the feelings I have for you now bleed into the answer. But I think...I trusted you, I had a good feeling about you... because I knew immediately that you wore masks, that you pretended to be what you weren't. I could tell... I didn't realise at the time, of course but -- now that I'm more familiar with Wilde's work, it's easy to see: “Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.”

It's weird, I feel like I've known you forever. Sometimes, I wish I'd met you twenty years ago. But I don't think I was done, then, becoming the person you needed me to be. And I'm glad I met you now because before I met you, I'd all but given up on the idea that there's anything to be gained from vulnerability. Almost all of my relationships end in death or betrayal, and I thought I couldn't... do that anymore. Let someone in like that, let them in far enough to hurt me. Be vulnerable. Be known.

I wouldn't have been very good to you if you'd met me before now. Before learning how the story ends and knowing everything that I know about my life, what I'm meant to be. It's been a struggle you know, since I've arrived here.

So it's the right time, perhaps the right century. I'd like to say I met you before to stop you from being run across the asphalt of bad relationships but... I can't pretend there isn't a good chance I wouldn't have been one of them.

This is better. This is... where I want to be.
