It's nice to get signal even out here. I'd like to thank Tony and Pepper again for giving me such a nice view of the city while dangling off the balcony ledge to get some air.

For those of us who grew up on Earth, or rather, a version of Earth - a little under 1% of the static that you see on your television set is a remnant of the Big Bang. If you were able to see microwave light instead of just visible light, the night sky would glow a bright, unforgiving white from the glowing heat of the ancient explosion. The atoms that make up your body are ancient as well, and recycled - so you are as much a part of Joan of Arc as you are Joseph Stalin. Humbling, somehow.

It's good getting perspective.

Let's hope that person either loves you enough to finish your work or loves science just that much.

What's your Ph.D. in, Doctor?

Reminds me of Dr. Antoine Lavoisier's experiments with the guillotine.

Nuclear Physics. You?

The blinking head? I was always interested in seeing more about that theory - just not in person. I can see it fitting in this case.

Astrophysics. Are you part of the Tesseract project, by any chance?

It's one of those projects I'm glad didn't tumble into my lab.

I am, yes. We could use some more in Astrophysics. Have you applied?

It's one of those projects I wouldn't be surprised if it tumbled into my lab.

The day I arrived. I'm waiting on information about security protocols and routines, which could be after the holidays with the way government works sometimes. But I'm already restless and ready to work.

It could be well after the holidays. SHIELD is very-- thorough.

If you can forward me your resume and qualifications, I'll see if I can put a good word in.

I know all about secret agencies that are through, I'm just used to being the one in my world that people put near the top of their lists for scientific knowledge. It's weird sitting around and waiting to help.

I'd appreciate that, Doctor.
