Hi there! I’m Janet.

Fun fact: Though Dr. Alexander Wood, the inventor of the hypodermic needle, is in The Good Place, he only missed being sent to The Bad Place by 312 points. Incest and torture are, as a general rule, frowned upon, no matter the reason.

With that in mind, I do not have skin or a circulatory system, so I can be neither infected nor innoculated. The experience was fun, though!

I do! But I don’t. As a Good Place Janet, my knowledge of the Bad Place is intentionally limited. I only know that, much like the architects of the Good Place, Bad Place architects have one sole purpose. While the Good Place architects are tasked with fulfilling dreams and bestowing happiness, Bad Place architects must find the best, most efficient way to torture humans.

However, knowing Michael personally, I can expand on him specifically! He has never been human, and only recently experienced close, meaningful contact with humanity.

Fun fact: The terms ‘angel’ and ‘demon’ actually originated with humanity. It is one of the few things that humans created first, along with the Tide Pod Challenge and dabbing.

Truthfully, architects are much more complex than what humans would call an ‘angel’ or a ‘demon,’ but some of them have been known to refer to themselves as such. As I am primarily a database of all knowledge in existence, truth is my default, and I call them all by their true title: architects.

From what I have learned from his time here, the Michael in this reality is taken from an earlier point in time than the Michael I have grown to know. By the point in time I originate from is reached, Michael has exhibited signs that he does, in fact, have the capacity to care for and maybe one day help humans. The Michael at this point in time does not seem to share that desire to do so.

So are architects interchangeable? That is, could one of them just as easily design a neighborhood in the Good Place as the Bad Place? Or are there traits, or skills, required for each Place that make one architect suited to one or the other?

Okay. So what kind of behavior should I expect from him at this point in time? Specific examples would be appreciated.

	You're welcome! Architects are designed with specific traits that ensure that they are suited only for the assignment that they receive. At this point in time, Michael is generally suited for manipulation, skullduggery, and general chicanery. It isn't wise to trust him, or his motives at this time, as his only intention is to torture those around him. (Reply to this) (Parent)
