You are only partially correct. The paid workers are almost entirely human. The many hard laborers and conscripted specialists are mostly non-human. Mostly human paid labor, mostly alien slave labor.

In my view, yes. It doesn't matter that he has had many non-humans in important positions before; he sees people in terms of value to him, not inherent worth as individual beings. And he is perfectly willing to tolerate a great deal of explicit speciesism in others. He would deny that he is speciesist, of course.

	It kind of was slowly going that way for a while, but I think Alderaan. It's easy to kill Stormtroopers. They look like droids, they're expendable. No one cares. It's the same with a weapon like the Death Star. A planet doesn't have a face. You don't have to look at someone and see the life drain from them. It's abstract. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He failed to understand that the anger over killing an entire planet for the actions of a few would burn through that fear.
