Mack probably drank a lot less beer before he came to the nexus. Just FYI. Anyway, he's not actually drinking any beer right now -- instead, he's sat down on the edge of a fountain in the 'main' area of the nexus, with coffee! Decaf, but coffee. He's sporting a (fading) bruise on his cheekbone, but his knuckles are much improved.

"Ever find yourself surrounded by people you gotta give a damn about, and not be able to figure out how the hell that happened?"

...He's much less crotchety about this 'friendship' business than he sounds. Really.

There's a woman in the nexus -- this is nothing new or unusual, especially not this woman, who has been to the nexus many times in the last few years of her life. A different part of it, admittedly...it counts, okay, so shut up.

For those of you who do or should recognise her, the only real visible change is the thin tanline where her wedding ring used to be. Given it's a part of the nexus she's never been to, she's not really expecting anyone to know enough about her to notice. She's probably right about the majority.

Anyway, let's skip the exposition. Donna's lighting a cigarette (as she so often is), and she shakes the match out, brushing her hair out of her eyes and examining her surroundings. "So. Nexus. Make me feel better about myself. What's the biggest mistake you didn't learn from the first time?"

On a scale of 1-10, how satisfying would it be to...oh, I don't know. "Accidentally" lose a teamleader in a dwarf star?

Hey, Nexus. This is Tommy. He's a lanky, completely human teenager in slightly ragged jeans and a faded grey t-shirt, and the most noticeable thing about him is the grin that just doesn't stop, even when confronted with the door to his 'living room' leading instead into a dimensional nexus.

"Cool," he says, "Somebody dropped Times Square on my house."

He steps inside, looking around interestedly.

"Okay, so...ask a question, huh? Here's one. Let's say you've clearly been slipped some kind of hallucinagen, and are tripping out of your mind. How would you cope?"

I was told this was a good place ask questions of an odd nature.

I've been doing a lot of research at home over certain symbols and such, their meaning and their variations. One of the books suggests that only inked symbols and figures can be 'symbolic'. I have to disagree. I think situations and moods can be very symbolic, as well.

Having said that, what do you find symbolic, outside of written figures? If you can't find an answer for that, why not tell me a favored symbol of yours?
Mine is:
