Take Me To Your Leader
Dae was growing restless. No one she talked to seemed to have any idea about how to get more information on what was going on that was causing a threat not only to the surface supernaturals, but to her pod and their aquatic cousins all over the globe as well. Weren't people concerned? Didn't they sense the tension in the air? Maybe it was from years of honing her skills in the depths hunting all manner of creatures, from Arctic Killer Whales to Portuguese Man O Wars, but her instincts that a threat was on the rise had spurred her to go straight to the police department to seek out for herself whomever was in charge and demand answers.
The slight woman sporting blue hair stormed into the precinct that morning and had slammed her hands on the counter of the first desk she came to, looking the person sitting across from her straight in the eyes and demanded, in a clear voice of command that was accustomed to being obeyed, "Take me to whoever is in charge." Of course, police stations didn't work like that on the surface and she was brought to a waiting area and told someone would be right with her. Then the reception staff officer went to his commanding officer, and so on up the chain until the stalling got too much for Dae's patience. She waved off the second officer who had been sent to try and suss out what she needed, but had not replied to her questions as to whether he was the one in charge. Irritated and feeling slighted, she stalked around him to push through the door beyond and enter the closed area. "Uh, Miss! You're not allowed back there. Miss!" Dae burst into the busy station room where most of the average ranked officers had their desks. Phones were ringing and keyboards were making noise as people worked. Dae scanned the room and then raised her voice to carry. "I demand to speak directly to your leader!" Conversation dropped and all eyes turned towards the slight frame of the human-glamoured mermaid. "Would she or he at least have the decency to show themselves to an Ambassador from the Mariana Trench?" Dae's eyes scanned the room, pausing on each face. |
