Jake was feeling a lot better after spending however long it was in the room without fog. Granted, he was more than a bit stir crazy, but it had to be better than actually being crazy; he didn't struggle so much with names any more and his concentration span was getting longer by the day, which was really good although his temper still flared up at times. Neytiri had kept him calm; she'd had his phone so he could check up on Abigail, and she'd distracted him when he'd gotten frustrated with being cooped up inside and he was in danger of lashing out. He hadn't even been tempted to punch anyone for ages now, which could only be a good thing. K9 still pissed him off, though, but you couldn't have everything.
The Doctors and Harry had put together some sort of plan worked out that would clear the fog. He hadn't paid too much attention to all the details of it, but he knew it involved the TARDIS and he knew it needed to take place in the weird underground cave place he'd half-heartedly explored months ago. And while he wouldn't have been much help in carrying out that part of the plan even if he did know the details (he didn't have a magical bone in his body and he wasn't a science nerd like Tommy), he knew that the voices in the fog would retaliate. He wasn't entirely sure how, but they weren't going to just fade away without a fight. So they would need protection of some sort, which was going to be Neytiri and himself. He'd been fog-free for ages, so he figured it couldn't take over his mind completely while everyone else worked on the plan, and then they'd have gotten rid of the fog at the end anyway, so he'd get his head completely clear and be back to normal soon enough.
The Avatar was carried out of the TARDIS and left to sleep in the fog-free room, lying on the bedding Jake and Neytiri had been using. Jake had frowned as he noticed the lack of muscle-tone in the Avatar, but it had been sleeping for over a month, so it was only to be expected. He'd have to have a word with his brothers, he decided, then followed everyone else into the TARDIS.
His ears flickered as he looked around the strange ship, and he walked straight over to stand beside Neytiri, his tail hanging low as he moved. The Doctors were flicking switches and throwing levers and all sorts of things on the central console thing, while Harry had curled his tall frame up so that he was perched awkwardly on the steps, staring at a point on the floor in front of his feet. He was obviously concentrating hard, so Jake didn't even bother trying to talk to him. He just took Neytiri's hand in his own and watched her. He was about to ask her how she was when the TARDIS gave a lurch, and then the Doctors were heading for the doorway again.
As he followed them, the familiar hum of the anti-fog thingy filled his ears before the doors were opened. The clear area in front of them was perhaps half the size of the room in the Raith building that they'd been using, and then the fog was there, thicker and denser than he had ever seen it before and faintly lit from somewhere within the cave, full of shifting colors. His ears dropped down completely flat as he ducked to get through the door of the TARDIS, and he braced himself for the sudden return of the constant noise in his head. "Which way is the exit?" he asked softly, unable to get his bearings just yet and well aware of the huge chasm that was incredibly close.
"It's that way," Harry said from behind him, pointing out the direction when Jake glanced back round at him.
"Irayo," Jake replied, then spent a few moments working out where he shouldn't go while everyone else talked quietly. Once he had a basic layout of the place sorted in his mind, he leaned in and kissed Neytiri briefly. "Rangal syayvi oeru?" he said, then stepped into the fog and started to listen. The voices were quiet at first, but he could understand them.
You left, you LEFT and they tried to turn you against us, against me, his mom whispered, but he didn't respond. He didn't hiss at the fresh welts on his arms and legs as the fog wrapped itself around him, but he continued to listen. The voices gradually got more and more annoyed, the welts happened faster, and then it happened. He felt a slight tug. He stepped away from the TARDIS, away from the clear safe area and towards the exit, and the tug came back. He walked closer to Neytiri and it let up. "It's calling people!" he blurted out as he realized it, "Neytiri! They're gonna be coming! We gotta go!"
