This whole creepy mist thing, was unnerving to say the least -- right now reports were that that it was localised to the forest, which was both good and bad. Good, because well, it meant they weren't trapped in their homes entirely, there were places it was safe to go. Bad, because in three days time, they'd need the woods to change in, knowing the Island three days could see it get better, or it could see it get much worse, there really wasn't any knowing which it would be. Given this generally unpredictable standard of their home, it was almost always wise to take advantage of anything, whilst it was available. So with time off from the hospital, Nina, George and there near two-and-a-half year old daughter, Eve had headed to the park. Venturing to the park a few days before a full moon was rather a good idea; their reflexes and senses were at their very sharpest.

Nina liked to think Eve was a good reflection on them both, she generally did as she was told, she knew to say her please and thank yous, she didn't sprint off without warning and with other kids to grow up with most of the time, she was a good sharer. Though she did have the tendency to remove all of her clothing when she randomly decided it was an opportune time, be it in the living room, or in a public space (a habit attributed solely to George, Nina fondly decided)

As they reached the play area of the park, Eve happily squirmed to be let down. And sure enough, as George set the toddler down on her feet she clambered up the jungle gym a little awkwardly but most independently. No doubt her goal was eventually the slide, but she bounced gleefully away on the wobbly bridge, hanging on to the rail tightly. Really there wasn't much for them to do but stand close by and watch her play. Or join in on it if she called to them.

Watching Eve, she still felt a pang of disbelief at how big their daughter was now, it seemed horribly cliché to 'wonder where the time went' - but it was heartbreakingly true. Especially given the fact Nina had missed months of Eve's life. She'd been scared she'd been forgotten, or even resented. It was a relief how quickly happiness had returned to their little family and how life had settled to what it ought to be so easily once more.

She sighed a little, looking between George and their daughter with a smile. There were other things on her mind too, and looking out at the city in the distance, the thoughts returned. "We're going to have to do something about Thursday night with all the mist in the woods. I don't think it's safe." Despite her words, her tone was generally easy, pretty much conversational, without being anxious. She wasn't about to ruin the afternoon, with days still to prepare, she was sure it'd work out, but they'd have to start thinking.

"I can't believe that's even a question." Nina quipped at once, her nose wrinkling lightly as it was poked. Pretty fish? But of course, pretty fish.

Nina smiled softly, with slightly sceptical sort of huff, Eve's eyes were a brilliant blue, like her dad's. "She's little genius." She noted, with a gentle nudge at George. Everyone probably said that about their own child, but Eve's development as far as Nina was concerned was staggering on a regular basis. "-Sweet." She could make a list, really. She fell silent a moment as she watched her, now twisting and spinning some oversized beads on a part of the jungle gym, happily occupied. Even so Nina knew George was watching Eve like a hawk, as was she.

"What, you always wanted to move to a bonkers Island with mist, and godly powers?" She knew what he meant, and despite her tease, Nina knew he deserved seriousness. "Before the wolf, before the train-- before here." She listed, a little solemnly as if these were continual road blocks to anything remotely normal, Eve only happened due to an accident. A wonderful, loved accident. Silently she was questioning if he was still wanting, this to do list.

"And, it- can't be the same here." Nina wasn't making a decided statement, or ending the conversation; more attempting to prompt him to go on, speak on what he truly wanted, even if part of her knew what he might say. A delighted squeal from Eve followed, jungle gym now abandoned and she animatedly implored her parents to go to the swings, clambering down to them excitedly.

George chuckled softly. "Good point. Moats and pretty fish do go hand in hand."

He grinned against her shoulder, as she prodded at him. He liked this list. "Well all that too, she does have a great gene pool to swim about in." He teased bumping her lightly, before his arms wrapped a little tighter about her middle. There was no way he'd ever get tired of this.

"Well, of course, it's not every day I get to swap places with Captain America." He teased back. He'd enjoyed that as much as he had switching with Thor on the train. All the cleaning he'd got done as both was amazing. He did get a little serious with her. "But, before here... Before the train... We were being hunted. Here, it's not that big of a deal if someone blurts out that we're werewolves. It's almost like the wolf is the least dangerous thing that goes bump in the night." Of course not many other people were contagious exactly, but he wasn't going to bring that bit up.

George wasn't giving up, not yet anyway. Instead he snagged her hand and followed the beckoning Eve on. "It wont be the same here, no. We'll have a better life here. I mean no one thinks twice about me staying home with the children, or about letting a werewolf sit for them, or..." There were so many things he could list, but he trailed off instead and scooped Eve up and set her into the toddler swing, and began easing it forward and back.

Nina turned a little quiet, not particularly usual for her, but her focus was on George, she was listening. Weighing up what he was saying; though it was hard not to have her attention regularly stolen by their daughter.

"Do you ever wonder-" Nina contemplated aloud, watching George push Eve in the swing, much to Eve's very audible, and ridiculously adorable delight. It made it impossible not to smile, even if she was in deeper thought. "-how ordinary do you think we could've made things for her, back in Wales?" This, the Island could sometimes be ordinary, sometimes insane, life interrupting things didn't happen.

It was no different back home. Trouble found them, regularly. Other Supernaturals found them almost as often and brought worse along with them. But, George was right. He was right. They were still dangerous, yes but their 'condition' was out in the open, it was known, which in turn made it far easier to keep others safe, to protect them, and in turn find some normalcy, friends and playmates for Eve, she wasn't restricted to Honolulu Heights.

Did this technically make the Island a better place than their original home? Despite it's wacky magical ridiculousness? "We all just sort of turned up here, Eve too." Nina wasn't going to get more descriptive, given she was in earshot. "Anything else- ..now, would be a proper decision." She was acknowledging the sense he'd made, yet was still struggling a little -- Nina's question gaze silently seeming to ask him, would it be the right decision?

"If we could have managed to escape notice, and the vampires, possibly yes. But without that I'm afraid nothing would have ever been ordinary for her." George tried to keep his voice light. So the little girl would only think they were talking about typical day things. Things that were okay, and easily ignored, because they didn't interest a two year old.

He was careful to pay attention to how high he was pushing their daughter. He'd thought about how things would have went for her often. Thought about how they would have likely constantly been on the run, for the rest of her life. And she deserved more than that.

George nodded at her statement. "It would be. And I'm not saying we have to. I mean she has Ash, and Sophia now so she wouldn't be alone in the house. But..." He gave Eve a gentle push before turning his attention onto Nina. "If you ever wanted to... With out the wolves doing it for us, I wouldn't object." Hell he'd probably jump up and down for joy. He'd be gleeful, and do everything properly.
