James was sitting on the roof of the building staring out across the city toward the forest. This had been happening a lot, lately. Ever since the lightning storm. Normally he enjoyed spending time with the twins but lately there was too much noise. Their laughter was no longer enjoyable. He craved the silence that he got up on that roof. The only other time he felt calm was in the forest. He could feel the life in them. The energy from them. At night, though, he stayed away from the forest because of the predators. While he could take care of himself, it was safer to stay in the city at night. So he sat on the roof and closed his eyes, just enjoying the solace.

	He kissed her again. "I think we should wait until things are back to normal. Or as normal as they can be around here." He made a face. "I want to spend time with the twins before we do that, though." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Laura nodded. "I would not dream of sending them away as soon as you feel better." It meant so much to her that he and the twins got on as well as they did. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"That is both comforting and slightly disturbing at the same time." He laughed softly. There were so many things that he'd done wrong in his life, so many people he'd hurt. None of that mattered to the twins, though. They trusted him to keep them safe. He reached up and caught Laura's hand, kissing her palm softly before looking into her eyes again. "They're not the only ones that hold my affection, though."

	Laura sucked in a breath at his words. Not like they were bad to hear, they were like music. But she had yet to be able to define what she felt for him. It was different from how she'd felt for Dalek, and Connor. So instead of put confusing feelings to words, she leaned closer and kissed him. She put all she felt into the kiss. When she broke the kiss, she whispered softly. "I am sorry I do not say the words back. I cannot pretend to understand the way you make me feel, not enough to put them into words." But action, it was easy enough in action. Her fingers trailed over his cheek, as she pressed her forehead against his. "I would not trust anyone, as much as I trust you." Except for Aaron and Jake, but even still, that was different.

	He kissed her again softly. "It's okay. Words aren't important." He smiled and touched her cheek. "Your trust means so much more to me than pretty words." He k used her again. "I trust you with my life, Laura." (Reply to this) (Parent)
