James was sitting on the roof of the building staring out across the city toward the forest. This had been happening a lot, lately. Ever since the lightning storm. Normally he enjoyed spending time with the twins but lately there was too much noise. Their laughter was no longer enjoyable. He craved the silence that he got up on that roof. The only other time he felt calm was in the forest. He could feel the life in them. The energy from them. At night, though, he stayed away from the forest because of the predators. While he could take care of himself, it was safer to stay in the city at night. So he sat on the roof and closed his eyes, just enjoying the solace.

	Laura wasn't sure what had called her to him, but she was careful as she came. Climbing the outside of the building, using all her senses to be sure he wasn't going to fire at her, or attack. Knowing he would only do so to protect himself. She crouched on the edge moulding of the rooftop. Silent. Waiting for him to either notice or acknowledge her. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Everything was heightened with his eyes closed. He knew that she was there, though she made no sound. He could sense it. James opened his eyes but didn't look toward her. "Are they asleep?" He knew the answer, but he still asked. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Yes, soundly so." Laura had read to them, put their questions about their dear friend to rest as gently as she could, and tucked them in. Remaining close until their breath was even, and the flickers of REM sleep twitched behind their lashes. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He nodded, though he sighed. "They're not sad, are they? Because I've been so distant?" He wasn't sure that they would even understand what was going on. "I miss them. Miss enjoying their sounds. 	Laura didn't mind the drastic change, in fact she fact that one was quite warm and the other cold was enough to urge her to move against him. As was generally the case.
