Annie looked into the mirror in her apartment one last time before she was ready to leave and smoothed down the front of her attire. Today was going to be a day...
Not a day she was unfamiliar with, she had been there for her friends in this capacity before, reshaping them after tragedy that either she had caused or borne witness to. All to mould them towards her perfect purpose, her designs.
This was different. In this world she had no agenda, no reason to drive forward other than to survive, no purpose. She looked with her remaining eye into it's blank and reflection before adjusting the naval blue eye patch over the wound she had suffered at AUBonnie's hand.
Annie had decided that she would make an effort today with her dress, deep naval blue formal corporate wear with gold fringe that she had adopted post her ascension. From that moment, her subjects had deemed her Empress and she had revelled in the feeling. Why, then, did her mind draw her to them now? No matter how she smoothed the outfit and adjusted the eye patch her blotchy, boned and burned skin still showed and it frustrated her.
As that frustration grew, the eye-socket behind the patch burned hot. She eventually turned from the mirror and breathed deeply. Kat wouldn't care... why did she care so much?
Pushing the feelings down, returning to the cold hollow of emotionless logic she turned back to the mirror and thought of the glass-like reflection of the ponds in little Asgard and fell into the space between, sidestepping through her own mirror and rising from the water like a lady of the lake into the park by her friends familial abode on the station. Adopting a confident stride, she walked to the doorway, reaching out with her mind to Kat;
"I'm here." she sent...
