Who: Steve What: Ruh Roh Where: Wheel 1 When: Late Monday Night Narrative, possibly open but talk to me first
Steve seemed to be at war with himself. And in some way, maybe he was.
"I'm not saying anything unless you give more information!"
He'd been wandering the halls again, this time making it as far as Wheel One. He'd known something was going on. Between the hours he was missing, the things he seemed to be doing, and then having no memory of. He didn't know if it was him or something the station was doing or something with these shadow beings or something completely out of left field, and he'd been trying to figure that out. But he'd made little progress. Mostly because his memory seemed to jump and fade every time he thought he was getting close to something important.
But he'd had a feeling; something deep in the back of his mind and in his gut, that whatever it was, was coming to a head. And maybe that was why he'd let the kids talk him into a few extra stories at bedtime, and why he'd been holding Bucky especially close when they went to sleep. He hadn't wanted to be right, but he was.
"No, I'm not doing that either. I won't put these people at risk without knowing more."
He was in the park now, sometime in the middle of the night, barefoot and wearing nothing but sleep pants and a t-shirt. The argument went on longer, devolving to screaming, then back to discussion, attempts at compromise even.
"This isn't going to help you. They'll figure it out." There was an edge of...almost panic to his voice, sadness lurking somewhere beneath it, though to most he would just sound diplomatic.
Until.
"I have a family, they've already lost so much, this isn't going to make anything better. Please, I-"
Steve dropped to his knees and then sprung back up quickly, posture defensive. He turned in a circle, took in the surroundings, then started running toward an exit.
[OOC: Steve has been updated/rebooted. He's dropping in from some time a few years after the end of Endgame, from his Peggy branch of the timeline. He won't remember his time on the island or station before this]
