Steve stopped just short of running into Kat, as their paths crossed, almost literally. At first, he thought maybe he'd mis-heard her, or she thought he was someone else. Then he thought it was sarcastic, something Tony would say. But it was 1953 and only about four people even knew he was technically old enough to be someone's great-grandfather.
"Sorry, have we met?" He asked, then looked around again. It felt almost like the first time, waking up in some foreign place, no idea where he was but knowing something was wrong. But last time he'd just woken up from a suicide mission. He'd at least known what caused it. This time he hadn't been doing anything like that, he'd been at home with Peggy and it had just been a normal night.
