Who: Shannon and John Constantine.
Where: Jasper Winter's Millhouse
What: Plotty hijinx
When: Day one of the plot
Rating: A for angry dragoness
Open: Nope
Status: On going

Normally Shannon could sleep anywhere. And she often did, like if she passed out while reading a book, stretched out in one of the couches in his study, but usually her always considerate lover managed to put her to bed before she got too sweaty. Her first thought was that he was still working at his desk, as she made pained noises, as she pealed herself from the leather couch.

"Loki... I know you're still working, but can we go..." Her plea falling silent as she finally gave way and opened her eyes. This was not Loki's study. The place was covered in cobwebs, and dust. Or the books she could see were.

There was plenty to see, but the most notable was the man that slept on the other couch. "John Constantine."

Shannon waited patiently as his brain started putting things together. She slowly sat up so she didn't expose more than she was already, in her short silky green nightgown. She could almost see the dots connecting.

Really she probably spent way too much time with Loki, because a smirk replaced the resting angry face, that had settled there. "No, should I? Did you do something? Is there anything in here that shouldn't be lit?"

She wondered how much he knew about her, it wasn't like she was exactly social. They had never really bumped into each other until now. But she knew more about him than she would any other human on the station. Mostly because he was on the list of people she wanted to bite. If he hadn't helped when her grandchildren needed it, she would.

John rolled his shoulders and shook his head with an expression that said he couldn't believe how utterly shit his luck was to be stuck with her. Of all the people on the station... Well it could have been worse. Could have been Loki... One of the last times they had met, Loki had John pinned up against the wall. John did not want a repeat of that encounter for fairly obvious reasons.

"I know this place. I used to live here" he said, walking around the room. Nearly everything looked the same, except some things were off. There was no staircase leading up to the actual Mill House. And there was only one door. That door he refused to go into. The one that lead into the strange hallway. John didn't understand the nature of that hallway, only that it would have been easy to get lost there and never return.

"I need to find some bloody clothes and a pack of cigarettes" John muttered to himself, going to see what he could find. "Don't touch anything!" he shouted back at Shannon as he left.

Her hoisted eyebrows let on that she could have guessed that bit of information without a bright flag waved at her. But she kept her mouth closed, even if there was a little smug grin on her lips. Oh, he wasn't pleased to be with her, that much was clear. Yet. He didn't know her.

Shannon rolled her eyes at the command as he left the room. She stood up from her seat, and began rooting around for her phone. She'd been born to this place, she knew it's tricks. While they were in a place that he had 'lived' she was fairly sure they hadn't been transported to his to his world.

"Don't rush on my account." She called after him when she found her phone. She sat back down at sent Loki a quick message. She also noticed not all of her grandchildren had made it with them.

John didn't know who she was. Not really. Didn't stop him getting a bad feeling from her. A strange and yet familiar vibe from her that he didn't know how to place. John tended to get that feeling when he went to different places. He could sense Damien Darhk in Star City but he didn't know it was him until he had been told. He could sense the danger, and that was enough for him. He could sense something similar from Shannon.

John grabbed a change of clothes, and rolled his eyes at himself when he grabbed some of Zed's old clothing for Shannon. He didn't know if it would fit and he didn't honestly care all that much. He took a moment, standing in front of that chest of drawers, thinking about Zed and how much he missed her. He couldn't help it... If he could admit it to himself, he really did love her. He just never knew if she loved him in return or not.

Walking back through fully dressed, John tossed a couple of items of clothing over for Shannon, moving his hands to adjust the tie around his neck, cigarette between his lips.
"Thought you might want to get dressed"

"Thanks." Shannon paused in her phone search to pull the jeans on underneath her nightgown, and simply pulled the button up shirt on, without unbuttoning it, and then with the magic that some women naturally had she was able to remove the nightgown without exposing an inch more. The clothes fit almost perfectly, though the pants were a little long.

"Your phone is probably in the couch, and I definitely suggest finding it because at least one or two of the people that made it here with us might try contacting you." If she had known he was going to be nice enough to bring her something to wear, so she wasn't stuck in her sleepwear however long they were trapped here, she would have looked for it while he'd been gone. "And I asked before, is there any candles here that shouldn't be lit? I can feel the magic here, and I don't want to raise the lights more and screw something up."

"Did you? I didn't notice" John replied airily. He walked over to flip a switch on the wall, the lights coming on. "Is that better?" he asked. There was a wooden chandelier that helped brighten the large open plan area. John took out his lighter and lit a few of the candles around the room adding warmth to it.

Next he went over to the couch to look and see if his phone was there. Right enough it was. He pulled it out and took a look, checking over the names. He saw the list, some greyed out, others not. He read over the list that wasn't greyed out before putting the phone in his pocket.

"So, judging from the list of names that I haven't actually met yet I am going to take a stab in the dark and guess you're Shannon, am I correct?" he asked, rolling the r in correct.

Shannon didn't hide her exasperated eyeroll. She had a far more lazy way of doing that, but since he wanted to do it the long way, she let him have it. And shot off a few more messages to people while he riffled through his phone. That done she stuck her phone into the pocket of the borrowed pants.

"You are correct. Lover of Loki, mother of Katherine, distant relative of the current Rogers on the station, grandmother to Lucy, Richie, Bill, and Eddie. Dragoness, and fire artist." She glanced at him, and without an utterance of a spell, or a shift of a brow, the candles he did light flared, but didn't do any damage to anything they the tips of flame touched. "I'm also an introverted recluse." That was the Cliff's notes version of her introduction.

John rolled his eyes as she seemed to go on and on. He bobbed his head from side to side slightly with each mention until she stopped. He looked back at the candles as she teased their flames into glowing brighter for a moment, and then back at her. Was she trying to impress or intimidate him? Maybe both? He was neither.

"Wonderful. More information than I needed and at the same time, just about enough. So you're Loki's bird then?" he smirked. "Maybe we should focus on getting out of here, yeah? This looks like my old Mill house but it's different. It's like a bad copy. And there has to be a way out of here..." he said, looking all around. He looked like a man with no patience and he well and truly was.

"There can never be enough information at a time like this. I would have thought the Dragon part would have been more important. But yes, I'm his bird." Shannon had never seen this place before. She stood up. Her gaze went over the room. It definitely looked odd. Not like the inside of a Mill she'd ever seen.

"That seems like it would be a little hard without doors." Was there anything that stood out. Something that maybe looked a little too in place? It could definitely use a bit of a spruce up that was for sure. "I could try to climb up the chimney." She was a little smaller than he was. And she'd scaled worse.

John shrugged casually. It was better to seem like he didn't care. Play off as the tough guy. He played a number of parts, depending on what was needed at any given time. And he lied as easily as he breathed.

John glanced back at her when she suggested the chimney. "You're welcome to try. I wouldn't recommend it" he said. Then again, the Mill house's usual defences seemed somewhat absent. The only way out he could see was the door he avoided. The one that led down the hallway that was easy enough to get lost in. He didn't understand the nature of the place and so he didn't want to venture down it. He hoped it wasn't their only option.

John knew he wanted to grab a few things while he was there but he had to check and see what was there. The books were there for starters and a variety of the artefacts he and Jasper had locked away over time. The messages were still written on the wall, including the one Zatanna left.

"So how come Loki never talks about you?" he asked.

Shannon cocked her head at the advice. There was something he wasn't saying. Could the magic she felt prickling along her skin guard even the flue of the chimney? Interesting. Or it could just be there to keep her from sensing what was off. What was different in a place she didn't know. Kept her instincts to burn the place down and get out, tamped down.

"I didn't know he needed to. Do I need validation from the whoever would listen to his praises of me?" She shrugged. Her gaze went to the only door she could see. "He probably doesn't because he knows of my reclusive nature and enjoyment of privacy. I know where I stand with him, and that's all that matters. Just like he knows where he stands."

A smile slowly grew over her lips. "And that you don't know more than what I just told you, means you aren't on his list. I figured curiosity would have you on there." Why not go for the obvious. Shannon started toward the only door in the place. Figuring the door would likely be locked.
