What: Madness
When: Yesterday at various times
Where: All over the place

It had been a normal day for everyone. People were going about their own business, some on the station, some on Midgard, some in Asgard... you get my drift. But they would not be separated for long. Reunions that were never meant started to happen.

"That's much better." Frigga confessed. She'd have to remember to carry something she could throw next time she moved down a hallway. Or to keep an eye out for sparking circuitry.

She straightened her gown, and when she felt squared away she nodded, firmly at her eldest son. "Alright, lead the way, and start your story." She looped her arm in his. He was healthy, that was what mattered most. Everything else was just the inbetween. "Tell me, Jane is alright isn't she? I would hate that she paid for me fooling Malekith."

Oh. This was going to be an even longer conversation than he had originally thought. Thor smiled tightly at his mother as he posed his arm for her hold, strolling down the hall at an even pace that seemed to match a thoughtful conversation's tone.

"Jane was well the last time I saw her," he answered. "I should tell you, before I explain Jane, the ship we are on is...unusual. Prior to being here, and not being on Asgard or Midgard as we know it, I and many others of this ship were stranded on an great mystical island. It was not somewhere we could leave, save when a portal to another time opened. These were temporary." Thor exhaled, finding his explanation short but to the point and covering the basics. He paused to allow for questions, though he would surely get to it all in due time if he just barged ahead.

Frigga easily set her hand against his arm. But she was no fool. She knew from the strength and the length that it was likely she did not escape Algrim's grasp. And that she very likely suffered the sword at her back.

Still she nodded as he explained, the place at least. "That would explain why I couldn't feel the reach of the bifrost. Do you know why we've been brought here?" She was sure other questions would come, they just weren't at that given moment. But there had to be a reason, right? There was always a reason.

Her son shook his head. "There has been no true reason anyone has arrived...or why they were taken away. Early in my arrival--on the island--Jane was there. We were happy and things were going well. She disappeared and I took it poorly." To say the least. Thor then shrugged as he moved on.

"There was a Man with what seemed to be unlimited power. We considered him to be the reasoning behind our imprisonment. Together the Islanders came together and we struck him down--my niece dealt the harrowing, final blow." At this he smiled with pride while giving a sidelong glance to his mother to spy her reaction.

Her smile had dropped with the tale of Jane, and how he was affected, she really disliked her sons to have heartache. Her free hand raised to settle on his arm as she delicately patted it. As if he were still that boy who needed to be soothed. To Frigga he would always be her baby.

Though the soothing stilled and shock. A niece. She was a grandmother. "Well.. I.. Loki has a daughter?" Not that she doubted either son's prowess, but she would not have figured that Loki would be the first. It was more shocking than being on a space ship out of reach of all they knew.

Thor smiled and nodded. "I met her before Loki was brought to this place. If I can recall...it's been years, now. Her name is Katherine and she is as intelligent as my brother. Just as cunning." His smile turned sly. "She is also very compassionate and kind. I think you will enjoy meeting her."

"The one that welcomed me to space?" She had already enjoyed meeting her already. Now she was sure to enjoy it even more. But she did see screen for what it was. Loki wasn't her only cunning son. "But don't think this is a distraction plying me with a beautiful granddaughter, I still want the story that you are avoiding telling me."

"Yes," Thor returned with a single bob of his head as they strolled along. "I'm not avoiding you, mother! It was important to the story!" he argued with a laugh, then after a sobering pause continued.

"After that battle that Island become cold and inhospitable. We began to worry for our safety as heavy snow covered the land and even the ocean began to freeze. Then...suddenly...we began to awake here. One by one, floating on this abandoned station." His free hand motioned around them.

"I'm not saying my granddaughter is not important, I am very eager to meet her. I was before I knew she was my granddaughter. And this place is equally as important.. But." She used her hand at his elbow to stop their forward movement. Thor was the more guileless of her two sons. And she could tell something was up.

"What are you trying to delay in telling me?" Frigga looked up to meet his eyes. She would have to grow used to the fact that they were both different now.

"Mooootherrr," Thor groaned like a child as he looked away from those caring eyes. "There is...there is a lot more to tell you about myself and Loki and....you....Father...." He swallowed, brow furrowing deeply as he looked well away from her.

"Years of stories. Battle. Familiar conflict." He took a deep inhale, exhaled slowly in an effort to stall for time, and then delivered the devastating news.

He was not always best with tact, but he tried to be delicate. The forewarning was a likely sign of bad news.

"This station, the Island, it takes us out of our timelines and leaves us here. Sometimes we return to them, or we wake up with memories of great and important events. You are here now, outside of your own timeline, in which...by now both you and Father have passed."

Frigga did not let the childlike complaint sway her. Although she did not entirely hide her amusement, the corners of her lips quirking just a little. But she remained patient and did not prod him into a quicker telling, but the way he stalled was very telling. Her hand moved up along his arm so she could squeeze it gently.

"I won't hide what I remember then, I felt the point of Kurse's sword in my back. I will say that I had slightly hoped that Loki had managed something, even from his cell. But only to spare you both." But she couldn't say she wasn't saddened by Odin's passing. But it also wasn't unexpected. "How did he go?"

At this Thor turned to look back at his mother. He was somewhere between shocked and relieved that she recalled the moments before her own death. A soft expression fell as his free hand placed itself over the one she rest upon his shoulder.

How did he tell her what happened next? To tell her what happened after Odin's otherwise serene death? The truth was, no doubt, the best course of action. Ripping it off like a stuck on bandage would be wise. Yet the pain was still fairly fresh in his own heart from the events that had transpired on Midgard and Asgard.

"He died peacefully at the end of a long, fulfilling life. We witnessed his ascent to Valhalla." It was not a lie.

Frigga nodded. He would be there when she got there. It would not surprise her if Odin had waited until the boys showed up to leave. It would be better than what she knew was to follow.

"Then you have met Hela." There was no doubt in her tone. "How did you fair? When will you tell me of your eye?" She knew there was some pain, and they could deal with it in time. But she wanted to know more.

The man eyed Frigga before giving a sad smile and a nod. "Oh, we met. She took my eye." There was a motion of his hand toward his face. "I wore a patch like father for a while. Loki wouldn't let me hear the end of it. This eye is...ah...a space rabbit gave it to me."

"Your father did little that I did not know about." She explained, reaching up and brushing her thumb just below the brown eye, against his cheek. "Of course he wouldn't. He wouldn't want you to be like him. I wouldn't want you to be like your father." Her hand dropped to his shoulder and she patted him lightly. "Is there anything else you were avoiding telling me?"

"No, I suppose he wouldn't..." There came a tense tinge in his tone as he seemed to momentarily feel the fresh wound of each of Loki's scathing remarks. Then again, Loki wouldn't want Thor to be anything like Odin--Loki had come to resent and hate their father more than anyone. Perhaps, as harsh as the comments had been, it was only a deflection. Thor didn't have much time to consider it, however, as Frigga pressed on.

He started to walk again, slowly. Standing still suddenly made him itch.

"There are years to tell you," he said quietly. "I don't know where to begin with it all. The Island and this station were one thing...but my life? So much has happened. And Loki...he wanted me to speak to you before you saw him." Thor took another breath and gave a one shouldered shrug.

"I don't know where to begin. Do you want good news or bad news first?"

Frigga followed along in silence, her fingers gently placed back against Thor's arm. She was sure she had the bones, but then came the years. Years from her sons lives. Enough that Loki was here and had not been the first to reach her. Was in fact avoiding her. What could be so bad?

"You had better give me the bad news first. That way I have good news to pull me out if it." That way she had something to help her keep her composure. After all, she was still the queen of gods. There was only so much vulnerability that she could show. Even with her sons. There physical strength was a match for her emotional strength.

And there it was. The prompt. Without much deftness or tact Thor unraveled the story since he last saw his mother. He did not stop walking as he did so. Details were only left out for the sake of brevity, but no detail of import was skipped. He laid it all out there, from his battles with the Avenfers to his plight against Hela, including Loki’s trickery against both brother and father. He told her about Thanos, the fate of Asgard, and his travels through the stars where they forged Stormbreaker—Thor did make sure to impress upon her how awesome he was holding open the iris of the forge along the way. Once done he gave a heavy sigh. A weight had lifted. He had not, in full, ever talked about what happened.

“So...that’s most of the bad news. There is one thing left.”

Frigga had listened intently. Focused on nothing really in front of them, her head down, relying in him alone to guide them where they were going. After all he knew this place and she did not. All her emotions hidden from view. Though her heart ached. They were all things the boys had to deal with alone. Her hand did tighten on his arm in parts of his telling. Who wouldn't? Especially the part with Thanos.

She gasped softly. "What's the one thing?"

It was difficult to talk about, mostly the struggling relationship with Loki. Yet somehow after everything was said and done they came back to one another. Maybe, though they were not technically blood, blood was truly thicker than water.

"Sif was on the Island," Thor said after rubbing the back of his neck. "She disappeared shortly after we were wed."

There was no hiding the pained look. She stopped them both and wrapped her arms around him. He had to deal so much in such a short amount of time. And he did so bravely. Brave enough that his voice didn't seem to shatter in the slightest.

"I am sorry, that is a loss." She had often wondered if she would ever count Sif as an in-law. But Frigga could not do him harm in stating such a thing.

Thor took his mother in and hugged her in return. "It's alright," he said with a nod. "The good news is much better. These things are in the past." He smiled lightly.

"Our family is growing considerably. First Katherine, and then she found her betrothed, Rhysand. He's from another plane entirely--we've never been there in all the realms. Loki's...friend is present with us, as well--Katherine's mother. She has come to us from the past. Her name is Shannon. Katherine and Rhysand have a daughter, Lucy, who is from an...alternative timeline to our own. I have also met someone; Brynhild. She is a strong shieldmaiden from Midgard's past. And, not least, I am currently overseeing a lost young one; Suzume. She's recently arrived on the station and has similar lightning ability, so I felt it the right thing to do to take care of her and teach her not to be afraid of the storm."

He smiled warmly, heart full. For all of the darkness that lurked in his past and for whatever loomed ahead he was not sad nor afraid. Thor was full of joy because he had a huge family, much larger than the four great leaders of Asgard--though, of course, the Asgardian's were family it was not quite the same.

That smile. It was enough to warm even the most frozen of hearts, Frigga was sure of it. It brought one of her own to light up her face. He was happy, that much was clear. The good news was good enough to wipe out the bad. Except the bit about Loki. That might stick with her for a while, but she didn't let it show.

"I don't know what I like best about that news. It all is soo... Will I get to meet your someone? And I must meet your charge. And a granddaughter and great grand daughter all in one day. Your good news is almost dangerous." She would tease. She really was pleased.

"You'll get to meet everyone. We're on the way home, now. They're all there, except for Bryn. When you arrived, so too did several of her own family. She's taking care of that. You'll meet her soon." He smiled and nodded before starting to lead the way once more.

"Suzume is bashful, I think because she is young and new to the Station, but she is very intelligent. You will love her. I do."

She was sure that the smile on her face would not fade, at least for a long time het. He loved a child. One not of his own loins, like she had. She squeezed the arm she held. "Today is a good day." It didn't matter what it took to make it to that day. It was the one before her that mattered the most.

Frigga beamed up at him. "I am glad I've come here." A pit stop to Valhalla.
