We both know I'm not about to hold hands with a group of people and sing songs around a campfire. I'm certainly not going to run around doing camp activities all because some stupid thing that can't even show its face decided we should have a summer camp experience complete with tacky uniforms and absolutely no privacy. I don't know why this thing planned this or how long it's been planned, but my s'mores are mine and not some Entity's. I don't need a stupid campfire with stupid camp cheer and stupid camp activities and stupid camp traditions to make a fire and eat my feelings in graham cracker and marshmallow and chocolate goodness.

Yeah, a bunch of us got screwed over. We got screwed over coming here. We got screwed over by being shown things we don't get to have at home. It sucks that your dad and Landon are gone. But you still have your mom and uncles and aunt and cousin. You have an entire world where people give a crap about you here -- people who saw you and didn't run away. Some of those people might even need you as much as you need them, and don't say you don't need anyone, Hope, because you do.

So go sulk, but don't you dare forget you have people who are still here. ~~And what happens if we disappear while you're gone? You won't even know~~ And we're still going to be here whenever you decide to come back. But the s'mores might not be.

People leave. They leave here and they leave at home, and they never come back at home and sometimes they don't come back here either. I know that. I accept it. I'm upset they're gone, but that's... normal. It's manageable. I know how to move so the shards of my broken heart don't cut me. And I appreciate what you and Josie did, I really do. It was exactly what I needed ~~except that someday you'll both leave again and I think I'll be stuck here when you are and you might not come back~~ and I know I don't deserve either of you.

I hate that I can't trust myself. I hate that I was happy—which is very fucked up, I know that—and I let myself be happy and I wasn't prepared to lose them. I should have known better. I keep forgetting.

I don't know how to be around other people when it gets like this, you know me. You know I don't have experience with ... sticking around. And I don't think trapped in a communal living space is the best time to learn. I could mess something up and lose more people, just in a different way. ~~Again~~

The woods aren't that far. I'll be able to keep watch.

	I'm the last person who'd know the answer to that. But it's already August, and don't schools start soon? It can't be that long. If it is, I'm starting a betting pool on who murders who first. My biggest guess is it'll come down to Marvel vs Star Wars or Marvel vs DC. But there's some Dark Horse around, so it could be anyone's guess. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
